Just have no idea what life would be without David Hockney. I can look at his works all day and learn so much. As he says, there is a different way of seeing.... Thanks David!
The first experience of David Hockney’s work was in 1980/81 London, a retrospective (already!). I was in A level art at school and I got a feeling that this painter knew how to paint. The feeling hasn’t changed since. The years flew by and now he’s an old man but with a tremendous personality and a very good eye, always looking... looking
It's a fascinating interview. David is so interesting and nice, and John Snow is a good interviewer and kind too, David can open up as he didn't need to be guarded. "Are you as happy as you've ever been?" Is a brilliant and insightful question that makes the interviewee think. John also picks the perfect point to end the interview based on David last answer.
When they got closer to hear each other better, I smiled cuz David Hockney, my absolute GOD felt like a human for a moment hahaha i love you Every time when I lose my way to my dream as an artist, I'll come back. Such an honer to live in the same time with you.
I love David Hockney s work. I have a huge ''Garrowby Hill on the Road to Bridlingtin. The view from the top of Garrowby Hill of 'The Vale of York is absolutely amazing!!
Really great to listen to DH. Its a shame that Jon Snow has to question him in such a patronising manner. DH may be a little hard of hearing but that is no excuse to question this great artist as though he was senile. Had I been DH, I would have walked out.
The old rascal. There's footage of him from 1980 not only smoking Gauloises while he paints, but blowing smoke over the picture! Don't apologise, David.
He should state that he feels like a child when he paints because he reminds me of paintings by schoolchildren......... I was at The Fitzwilliam recently and aside a Turner and a Constable was this Clown..
cheer up my friend, because I like and I am entertained watching your activities, friends, and I like all your channels,... greetings from Indonesia, and because I have many shortcomings, so I ask for your support and guidance for the development of my channel my friend... I pray for you my friend... I hope you stay healthy, so you can continue to do activities... cheer up my friend

Love this guy. Decent, candid, down to earth. Still in love with life. And his work ethic and output are amazing. Bravo, Mr Hockney!
My absolute hero. Bravo David!

What an interesting & most talented artist, at 80plus, I take my cap off to him & salute him.
If I paint, I feel 130.
I sold lots of his books when I was young

Jon Snow is a straight up guy; ditto Mister Hockney. Relax !
The old rascal. There's footage of him from 1980 not only smoking Gauloises while he paints, but blowing smoke over the picture! Don't apologise, David.
TheOldHacker the blowing smoke over the painting is shamanistic.. gets the painting to start to live its own life. Helps it on its way
If I paint, I'm 6 years old.
No painter here. A line, a circle,
a figure: like a beautiful 6 or 9. Together.
When I wrote, I felt like a conduit. No quite “myself.”
Is it the same experience for you when you paint?
Time flies too
😮😮😮😮😮😮
"There's less bohemia....."
Definitely :(
He must have many assistants working for him to be this prolific at his age.
When i paint i feel paint

I thought he was a Steeplejack chimney feller ? .. I am confused now . .
Both born and raised within an hours drive of each other. Gritty masters of hard work and industry. (Fred Dibnah, t'other lol)
the most over rated "painter" evert. hes not even bothered to check the correct pants level for 77. total rubbish
