Abel to Billboard back in November: "Picture the album being like the listener is dead. And they’re stuck in this purgatory state, which I always imagined would be like being stuck in traffic waiting to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. And while you’re stuck in traffic, they got a radio station playing in the car, with a radio host guiding you to the light and helping you transition to the other side. So it could feel celebratory, could feel bleak, however you want to make it feel, but that’s what The Dawn is for me." This is the PERFECT description of this album. What a moment to be XO! Been waiting on the OG reactions all day, thank you Dillon ❤️❤️
For me it was the first album that made me cry. Especially Pahntom Regret by Jim. The album itself was the most beautiful thing. It’s a totally different album & I can’t understand all these morons on Instagram that hate on this album & say it’s trash & his worst. I absolutely love this. Abel doesn’t miss. I love this direction and the album is very cohesive, but i hated starboy for example. Dude is the game for almost 12years now, of course there is gonna be music you are not gonna like

The retro 80s synth beats, the transitions between songs, the weird eerie radio interludes with Jim Carrey, this album is perfect. There's so much to talk about on this album.
Mannn, I can not even call this an album, it is a damn experience. Usually when you talk about an album you can highlight a couple of songs which make or break the project but I can literally not pick one song which actually defines it. It is the whole thing from begin to end which makes it brilliant. It is really an offense to this album to put it on shuffle mode on Spotify.
starry eyes really hit home for us XO fans. damn that’s the type of energy we wanted from this album but Abel decided to scrap that type of sound for this album because the songs he was making were too much for him. He didn’t wanna go into that dark hole
This is such a great Album, the production was crazy, The Weeknd’s vocals were beautiful, and Jim Carrey narrating on this album, Goddamn bro, I just listened to this the second time and my 2nd listen I felt different than in the 1st listen, I did a reaction to it I just have to edit it, he has done it again, A lot of the production sounded like they would’ve been songs that Michael Jackson would’ve done, if Michael was alive right now, he would’ve been proud of this man, I loved every second of this Album, Shout Out XO Bro, and ofc XO and Dillon Jackson Till We OD ❤️
There were rumors that MJ would appear on this album, but for now he didn’t. But still, a deluxe might come out soon just like it did with After Hours. What if… we do get this legendary collab after all ? I know it sounds crazy, sounds like a dream but for such an album it would be a perfect opportunity. Then again, it ain’t easy to obtain unreleased material from the MJ Estate & comes out really expensive but if Drake did it, why can’t The Weeknd ? It’s ok to dream tho 🥺
When I heard Less Than Zero for the first time I was completely in awe. One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. This album is phenomenal and it’s amazing that Abel continues to outdo every album. Thanks for your reaction Dillon! I look forward to them so much every time Abel drops!

I love "a tale by Quincy", it's similar to the beginning of "Giorgio By Moroder". There is something about an old man talking about his past over an instrumental that adds to what he is saying, I just wish it was longer. "Phantom Regret" is just way above that. The Poetry and Jim Carrey's deep voice with the instrumentals and the weeknd singing in the back is just phenomenal.
been listening since even before trilogy, this album wasn’t sitting right with me on the first listen. now, after a few more listens, it’s definitely slowly growing on me. new sounds from abel are taking some used to, but theyre great nonetheless.
yea baby this is what I've been waiting for, this is what its all about! on god this album was magic especially out of time with the plastic love and stay with me vibes.. its got the 80's bangers of starboy with a sonic upgrade, the narrative strength of after hours +so much more from previous projects. From my understanding, after the fifth listen: Dawn FM is The weeknd's older self essentialky warning his younger self to slow down with the fame and everything that comes with it (the rush). Also admitting regrets and telling his younger self to do better, because the future is not the same. Jumping back, older self is stuck in purgatory and he has to review all his mistakes. This album is taking the same trajectory as After Hours. The first listen, people said it was trash but later throughout the week, everyone realized it was amazing.
I would say him being stuck is like him being at the point in his life where he’s not going back to that darkness. He’s aware of the consequences of going back there and obviously it’s not going to be an automatic change into a better person, but rather a stop in traffic waiting for the light to get there. If that makes any sense
I was one of the people who thought the album wasn’t that good. But after the second and third listen I was like "bro… this album is amazing". Expectations and how different it was in comparison to old albums ruined the first listen for me. I hated Gasoline on my first listen and now I love it😂 and I didn’t even know until after the first or second listen that that was Jim Carrey was the radio host which he’s one of my favorite people who has been through a lot so that added an extra layer to it for me! This album is another near perfect album from Abel imo. No it’s not like his last albums and it may not be the absolute masterpiece that After Hours was but it’s still an amazing album!
Somebody said this album is him in the brink of death and Jim Carrey is representing God , this takes place after faith when he is ODing and in the intro he wants to lead him into the light but idk what to think about that , also makes sense why after faith the 80s aesthetic takes the driver seat in the album
This has to be my favourite album of his now. Maybe it's because the genre is my current favourite or the things I'm going through, but there's a healing aspect to it that is so soothing. The more you listen to it, the more it draws you in.
I think bc u paused between the songs to give ur opinion u didn’t get to actually see that there are so many more transitions in the album and they’re all just chefs kiss. Especially when tale by quincy transitioned into out of time and the story and lyrics just made sense to have that the before out of time. Its just a masterpiece. Always look forward to ur reactions!

I swear I had the same reaction to the transition from How Do I Make You Love Me? to Take My Breath. So much, I had to replay that shift like 40 times before I went into Take My Breath!
Mr Dillon glad to see you. Been waiting for your reaction. Abel is a true legend. He told us this is the album he always wanted to make. He really stepped out of his comfort zone. It is amazing how Abel's ability to reach soooo far in the future with his sound and marry the 80's synth together. Don't mention the album cover. XOTWO you better believe it!!!
It is a roller fucking coaster at an emotional state that made me wonder if I drank mushroom tea or where the rabbit hole actually is. Am I here or am I wrapped in a sheet waiting for more of his great gasoline to be poured out? Perhaps I am just sitting alone on a beach contemplating the great philosophical ideas that whisper through those funky synth beats and poetic heartbeats.
I had the same reaction to Phantom Regret as you did! Literally cried like a damn baby when my friend and I went through the whole album together. The more I listen to DAWN FM the more I fall in love with it. In. In it’s entirety, I think Abel executed this well. ALSO you cant ignore the fact that this man literally got together with Swedish House Mafia for this album release. That in itself its monumental AS FUCK!!!! Love you Dillon! Keep on smiling and making dope content :)

I thought the album was rly great! It's grown on me a lot since the first listen like when I first heard it I found it a bit disappointing (maybe cuz I listened to it with only 5 hours of sleep lol) but with each listen I rly like the themes and the whole radio aesthetic is rly cool. One problem I have is that I wish there was a song before phantom regret that was more dramatic like After Hours to Until I Bleed Out but other than that it's a fantastic album! XO
I throughly enjoyed this album on the first listen and I gotta agree Out of Time is definitely one of the best tracks on this album and will definitely be listening to this more through out the year for sure

@Dillon…. Totally agree with Phantom regret… it made me think… i had to GOOO back and listen to it again just to really HEAR and listen… not just hear but REALLY listen! It just makes you think…. LIFE IS TOO SHORT! I loved Quincy…. I actually saw his documentary when it first came out…. When i heard it.. i was like… WAIT! THAT’S QUINCY! Then I realized.. IT IS! I loved it. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ALBUM is amazing…. Abel makes it happen and is always revolving, always keeping us on our toes…. You're tuned to Dawn FM
The middle of nowhere on your dial
So sit back and unpack
You may be here a while
Now that all future plans have been postponed
And it's time to look back on the things you thought you owned
Do you remember them well?
Were you high or just stoned?
And how many grudges did you take to your grave?
When you weren't liked or followed, how did you behave?
Was it often a dissonant chord you were strumming?
Were you ever in tune with the song life was humming?
If pain's living on when your body's long gone
And your phantom regret hasn't let it go yet
You may not have died in the way that you must
All specters are haunted by their own lack of trust
When you're all out of time, there's nothing but space
No hunting, no gathering, no nations, no race
And Heaven is closer than those tears on your face
When the purple rain falls, we're all bathed in its grace
Heaven's for those who let go of regret
And you have to wait here when you're not all there yet
But you could be there by the end of this song
Where The Weeknd's so good and he plays all week long
Bang a gong, get it on
And if your broken heart's heavy when you step on the scale
You'll be lighter than air when they pull back the veil
Consider the flowers, they don't try to look right
They just open their petals and turn to the light
Are you listening real close? Heaven's not that, it's this
It's the depth of this moment, we don't reach for bliss
God knows life is chaos, but He made one thing true
You gotta unwind your mind, train your soul to align
And dance 'til you find that divine boogaloo
In other words
You gotta be Heaven to see Heaven
May peace be with you
This made me cry

Sacrifice Sounds like mj The Weeknd is so Amazing with this album takes you to a whole different world 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Your reaction to Less Than Zero was so much more happy and vibey than mine 😭 I absolutely cried lol
This has to be my favourite album of his now. Maybe it's because the genre is my current favourite or the things I'm going through, but there's a healing aspect to it that is so soothing. The more you listen to it, the more it draws you in.
I can’t believe it.. I wish I could’ve seen him perform faith live
Best friends into is there someone else transition is my favorite 🔥🚫🧢
I personally love it, great album, idk of you on Facebook in some of the weeknd groups but its crazy af rn, so many people love and hate this album its chaos in them groups fr
Just like kissland. All those people will love it with time.
I come back to this when I want to relive the first time I heard this album.. his transitions are seamless.. and might I add u are the face for us xo fans the real ones.. u can spot a fake one with ur eyes closed
3:36 my exact reaction to this part lmao
I jumped out of my bed yelling on a school night lmao
Maaaan Dillon, it ain't a TheWeeknd album release IF YOUR REACTION AIN'T HERE. You're the goat bro keep this up :) Xo
Amazing album. He never disappoints, most versatile artist ever. Been waiting for your review bro. XO
Sacrifice is dope af, makes me want a glass of henny at the club with them strobe lights on.
Bro phantom regret had me speachless for about 5 mins. It legit got me in my feelings thinkling on some deep shit. Thank you for an awesome review. Give it a few listenings, i was "meh" at the first listen but now i have totally forgot after hours and love dawn fm.
*This album gives me The Perfect GTA Vice City radio vibes.* 📻🎙️
Can’t believe The Weeknd dropped because usually he disappears for a while 😳🔥
It’s the same thing that happened between BBTM and Starboy. He’s definitely gonna disappear after this era

I’m so grateful for your love for The Weeknd. I have no one in real life that gets it. 🖤
I can't wait for The Weeknd's next album so I can see your reaction to it.
Every Time The Weeknd drop a new album I come here for your reaction … it’s priceless.
This album is an instant classic, He simply don’t miss, he never will.
Sorry if there’s any spelling mistakes.
A French XO Fan
Lmfaooo I just stumbled across your channel, your reactions are spectacular
First time listening: Okay, decent...
Second time: LETS GOOOO
Third time: A FUCKING MASTERPIECE!!
First reaction of yours I’ve ever watched. Nothing made me happier than to know that you loved Out Of Time as much as I did! Your energy is great fam you got my sub!!
The production on this album is crazzzyyyy!! I love it so much!!! XO
I swear I had the same reaction to the transition from How Do I Make You Love Me? to Take My Breath. So much, I had to replay that shift like 40 times before I went into Take My Breath!
I remember crying on the plane to Less Than Zero
the sample was "Alicia MEYERS. - I wanna thank you
God magic this album actually grows on you
I agree about Phantom Regrets…I was shook
Abel is goated for sampling Midnight Pretenders. Never would’ve tought Abel would do his spin on this City Pop Classic.
Truly an amazing album .. i just love how his work is always evolving and how he surprises us!!
Man I remember your star boy review!!!… haha Dawn fm is so fucking good. Is there someone else or not is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard!
The collective confusion during Gasoline when he first starts singing is so hilarious to me. I get used to it the more I listen to it tho.
I really love this dude Dillon we literally reacted the same way to all the songs 🤣🤣
I'm wilding yo.. What a reaction 😭🤯🙌🤣
Everytime I listen to this album I always add another song to my favorites
Sacrifice was produced by Metri boomin opn max martin Calvin Harris Swedish House Mafia and also the sample or snippet is from the end of take my breath music video
XO
The reaction we all wanted to see! This album is awesome! Abel delivered again. Thanks for your reaction Dillon 😎
I throughly enjoyed this album on the first listen and I gotta agree Out of Time is definitely one of the best tracks on this album and will definitely be listening to this more through out the year for sure
That sample was Alicia's "Thank You." Patti LaBelle did it too.
Great video Dillon! I might be alone on this but “out of time” gives me MJ “human nature” vibes for some reason. Out of time is just a beautiful song
This is exactly what I thought you'd say. Word for word. I love this album!
"Is There Someone Else?" It's my favorite by far!
That transition from best friends is beautiful 🔥
This will be a legendary album
Only one place to come for a Weeknd album reaction and das right here!!!!
Found this channel 3 hours ago😂 Been Watching since
W!!!! Wish Lance was here to see this 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I didn't like it when I first heard it but i just kept listening to the album and it grew on me fast, love the album now. It's amazing
The way you felt this album blossom is the way I felt. There's an exceptional groove here. Hope to see more of your reactions..
Always an experience listening to the album then waiting for this reaction XO🔥🔥
I was telling my friend before the album dropped.
That am not going to watch any reaction videos unless i see DJ react to it first. The real XO fan
loved this reaction and the album.. he managed to please his xo fans as well as his bandwagon fans and the general public with this album. the old abel comes through, but it’s also the new abel
Imagine how insane this tour is gunna be, what an album!
sacrifice was a transition from the take my breath video if anyone peeped it or not. This album made me cry I wont lie. It is amazing
You’re the only reactor on youtube I really wait for his reaction fr .. keep going bro
The only reaction I’ve been waiting for 🔥
THE OG HIMSELF IS HERE LESSSS GOOOO XO
Transitions so smooth I don’t even notice
I also read the article in GQ in October 2021 issue (I think) IF you haven’t already done so… it’s a GREAT ARTICLE.
Sacrifice and Out of Time my favorite tracks🔥
first of your videos I've watched after oneohtrix point never shouted you out on his twitter, love your enthusiasm! this album is so awesome and as an OPN fan im really excited about his collabs with the weeknd
You know what if you listen the whole album in loop and when last song ends and still sync with 1st Song is Making the Album the Incredibly Good ♥️
Man I loved the whole album 💿! No skips no shuffle that’s how Imma jam this album throughout this year and so on !!! Phantom regret had me disoriented as-well :)
Album of The Year first week is crazy. Timeless piece of Art
The reaction we have all been waiting for! Thanks Dillon, now I look forward to your more detailed analysis and unpacked thoughts.
My faves right now are Less Than Zero (that needs to be a single!) and How Can I Make You Love Me
The live listening party was one of the best Weeknd experiences I had.
