8 years later and wishing the same thing but also with the Roses third album being apparently replicated by Ian Browns Ripples album. Will we hear anything from the 3rd album deal. An outakes album and a live album would fulfill their deal with universal and give the fans something to chew on
The original chorus: Let it roll I'm fast like thunder Our love should know no end And I can't break this spell I'm under You're my one and only friend You've got it all and now I want it back again We've gotta try and make amends Take me back to your bed and the good times I know that we can never end (Correct me if I'm wrong)
I find it interesting how from this version in 92 to the finished SC album in 94, Squire got handed a 59 Les Paul at some point and his playing got stratospherically better (in a technical sense) and obviously SC became a more blues guitar focused record. His guitar playing was either being held back for early Roses or he just improved massively in that period. Interesting period for the band and JS
Early doors it was about every one getting a sound out ian said that they agreed this was going to be a guitar heavy album then every one would have a influence on each other album... even though I think RENI snatched this album..
This, and the other "Second Coming demos" out there probably show what the album would have sounded like if Ian Brown had more influence in the sessions - more funk, less guitar overdubs....
A lot more funkier than the album version. when the second coming was released the musical landscape was grunge rock and the roses followed this and made the second coming more rockier. the should have stuck to setting the trends than following them. don't know if their us based record company had any influence though.
There's nothing grunge about that record, John Squire had his nose in a bag of columbian marching powder and decided he wanted to turn the Roses into a Led Zeppelin tribute act...
b/c it is real. less production. this version is the shiz. it is the band, the real , whole band jamming on this track. sounds great to me. and I like the alternate lyrics, probably brown's own....
Theres a better groove on this, less yee haw geetah than on the final mix. Love Squire but he pushed too much lead guitar into everything and that wasn't the groove most of us loved. In my opinion. They really had something. Still great live. Viva Roses! :)
I wish Geffen would just get on with it and release a DELUXE EDITION of Second Coming with all this stuff in better sound quality.....

@@championsoundrecords Best not taint the Roses legacy any further with any 3rd album stuff, the two singles were bad enough.
The original chorus:
Let it roll I'm fast like thunder
Our love should know no end
And I can't break this spell I'm under
You're my one and only friend
You've got it all and now I want it back again
We've gotta try and make amends

(Correct me if I'm wrong)
almost.....
let it roll down fast like thunder,
our love should know no ends.
@@MANNAMATTA Ah yeah, thought I'd probably heard that wrong, thanks
@jamescooke3946 These are Ians lyrics for sure obviously binned because it all had to be John's.
love the sway of this version
Much prefer this version.. Sounds like The Stone Roses

His coked up ego took over when recording the second coming.
@@bertyblu6804 oh come on, they all had separate drug habits✌️
He met an old man at the crossroads

100% correct the chorus on here are his lyrics too.
@flippikat that would be my dream come true. Do a re-master (push Reni and Mani up in the mix!) plus clean demos. It would be so nice!
love this version
Still wishing & hoping ten yrs after original comment
@kurcobolja i couldnt agree more, tears is one of my all time fav songs. stone roses dont get enough credit in my oppinion
A lot more funkier than the album version.

And browny could not get out of bed. They all had separate drug habits to deal with ✌️

Properly produced this would have been the version if they weren't injucted
b/c it is real. less production. this version is the shiz.

sounds great to me. and I like the alternate lyrics, probably brown's own....
lazyitus definitely squire lyrics/song
A vast improvement!
Before remei
i'm glad they changed the chorus.
The chorus sounds like a totally different song to Good times and could be a different song .
how did you get this data?
just the wrong style for brown to sing..hate how squire went off on his own tangent
JoneseyTV same it sounds so dull and boring
