Great advice for the black line gang. I’m solely an OWS. I contend with the current, wind and wave swells. Love those rogue waves and then spit out a mouthful of salt water. I do work on my swim efficiency but most of all I ENJOY myself within the elements. Love the coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles and hearing the whales. So awesome. BTW, I’m 71 and don’t miss many days doing my 2k
During my cool downs, I always do some one breath lengths where I go for minimum stroke count. I consider that essential, in part because I put more effort into mechanics. Too slow, or too fast of a cadence and you run out of air before you reach the other end of the pool.
Hello Fares. I love this video & your EVF video. I am 53 and am back into swimming. I have been doing about 2500yds 3x/week. I can do 100 laps in 44-47 minutes w/3 short water breaks. I need a different workout., been doing the same thing for too long. On this workout, how long is the rest between breaks (30 seconds? 5-10 breaths?) Thank you.
How long should I be planning for that kind of a workout? How long of breaks between sets? I’m mainly interested in OWS. Will any of this apply to improving there?
Hi Ernest! This will definitely help your open water swimming! This workout specifically may take around an hour, depending on your set intervals. I recommend trying out the MySwimPro app, where your set breaks and intervals are all personalized to you and your speed. Check it out at myswimpro.com/coach
When you say to hold streamline during the kick set, does that mean it's head down the entire time without taking a breath? I don't think could make it across 😬
I know this is a year later, but just to try and help. You can tilt your neck sideways to inhale while you're doing the stroke, that way you are still maintaining your streamlined position. (This is kinda difficult for beginners though, hell, I'm 15 and I can't do this yet, practice this during your next swim session, and you should be good)
It's incorrect to say that if you increase speed by increasing spm doesn't mean you are less efficient. It does mean that you are less efficient...but you sacrifice efficiency for speed. Car engines are the same in a way.
Shows you how nuanced swimming is for humans. If we change one thing it can affect another thing. Humans are not natural in the water. Even the cruddiest fish can move more efficiently through the water than any human.

Water is 800x more dense that air! Swim smarter friends!

i love these videos
I’d get 2€ discount for the airofit! What about the importance of nose breathing, so what is the benefit of the device?

Creia que puño,dedos 3 ,1,..etc eran ejerc de contraste...
How can I do the fist drill if I only have 5 fingers in each hand?
My lats hate you for this wonderful instructional video lol
If time is money, this dude makes his videos super expensive.
9:39. You're welcome
My friend you're program is very good, people you need to watching practical but you're talking to much why.
Does height count? I mean, say for a 5ft tall person, should the swolf be the same as for a 6ft tall person?
It counts very much! A 5ft tall person will - all other things being equal - take more strokes per length than a 6 footer.
@@alextesei6978 Thanks Alex. I'm trying to figure out how many more strokes it would be.... I reckon 4 or 5 (between a 5ft vs 6ft person)?

That's cause fishes are made to live in water. We are made to live on land, but that can't discourage us from trying swimming.
Great!👏👍🙏😊👏👏🔝🍀✍️✍️✅🏊♂️
