Well from the slomo yabbies release from the bucket with the 6 not 5 yabbies, to the bunch of bait yabbies, the magic disappearing yabby somewhere in there and the decent net full of monsters for a feed it was all awesome 💪 The grumpy night black snake was awesome, love seeing them flare up like that, never seen one at night either... The new nets at least got a break in on the first attempt, nice big one in the second trap, unfortunately there wasn't more that size. The home made traps going strong at the end producing some nice yabbies for a feed, producing the best haul of all, maybe there was 5 at the end and it was another disappearing yabby 😅
Hey mate we have always used steamed dim sims in those bait traps. We would buy as many as nets we had on our way out of town. Just try one mate, has to be cooked though. Cheers mate 👍 🐕 🤠
I've not watched this yet as I am waiting to watch it with my brother as it's a long one. Let me tell you this though, thanks to your yabby vids, we have scoped out some ex farm land (development land) smack bang in the heart of Western Sydney that has a large dam and a small dam on it and are going yabbying either tomorrow or Sunday. We are taking 4 pyramid nets between us and using bacon as bait. Our plan will be to put 2 in each dam, do an impatient check and put the other 2 into which ever dam produces the best result from the impatient check. I'll keep you updated. cheers.
@@robbiefishing Yabbies or no yabbies, we are looking forward to it. Except for the fact that there is little shade there and there may be bulls in that paddock lol.
So great to see your passion for the art of yabbying has not diminished Robby! How long have you enjoyed this passion time?? Guess on yabbying haulage???
Wooo! Been waiting for a long yabbying video! would love to see one that's not a mix smaller ones, but none the less thanks for the video Robbie god bless mate have a good one!
Hi Rob, that's a good idea if I can work out how to catch one and put it on the hook. I don't know that I am keen to move them around between waterways though to be honest.
Hello mate How you feeling, are you still testing positive ? Rob sausages lol.. I know a few of them crazy carp fellas over here use that for bait.. and with some success.. Well done mate another quality video... Thank you mate Hope your on the mend 😎🏴🎄
Haha thanks so much mate. I think our sausages are a bit different than yours. I'm going OK thanks. Slowly recovering. I went fishing today. Just a short trip, didn't go near anybody. It was so good for me mental health. I hope you have a great weekend mate.
With bait yabbies, you can get 4-5 sheets of soaked in water newspaper, roll them up in it and then put another 4-5 dry sheets over them and put them in your fridge crisper. They'll just go to sleep for a month or so, warm them up and they wake up just fine. Also works with bigger ones just the same but they're a bit more of a hassle to deal with and not nipping you in the process. Butcher's paper also works just fine, mostly because I don't remember the last time I bought a newspaper Might be good to label the wrapped up paper with whats in it otherwise inquisitive people look in there and end up screaming, which I find annoying
That was a great comment i have to say.😂😂😂😂😂😂 when i was single i used keep my maggots in the fridge in a custard container my sister who lived at home as well hated custard. (My mother gave me permission.) Of course one day my sister decided to try some custard. 😂😂😂😂😂 there was screaming. 😂😂😂😂
@@robbiefishing Its handy for when you get a few tiddlers at a time and easier than setting up a tank for them. Otherwise they hang around, you give them names and feel bad about putting them on a hook :)
@@Vincentdonnelly5158 I did the same with my yabbies when I was 14 and wrapped them up, stuck them down the bottom of the crisper and figured no one would bother them. My mum bothered them and yeah, didn't go down too well at the time
Ever seen the animation Yabby Hunterz by Michael Cusack? Hes an Australian animator and he makes whacky animations, even has a show on AdultSwim. Every time I watch your yabby videos I think of his characters in that video yelling "Yaaaaabbys!!!" Lol
Possibly. H re in Victoria the funnel is not allowed to be more than 5cm in diameter, and in NSW it is just 3cm, so these may have been NSW compliant I think.
Absolutely love yabbies great to see a longer videos by any chance i want to ge`t some 4lb line and i was wondering if you have any reccomendations as i usually use 3lb and the brand i use dont do 4lb thanks tons
Hi Matt, that is to prevent them from killing each other, also it allows them to climb up and breath. Yabbies can get their oxygen from the water, and from the air. In a bucket like that the oxygen levels in the water drop quickly so they need to get it from the air and the grass helps them to climb up and do that.
Hi mate, there are good dams and bad dams. This video's was a compilation of my Yabbying adventures. I have plenty of good dams that I could just go to and catch heaps of big yabbies, but that's boring going to the same spots all the time. I love exploring new spots.
Awesome, thanks for clearing that up mate. I knew it was smaller than Victoria. Ours is 50mm. You'd think that both states could be the same wouldn't you. LOL
@@robbiefishing I agree Robbie!!! Only thing the NSW and vic can agree on based off what I’ve seen is the yellow belly size and bag limit (5 per person at >30cm). Murray cod is different via possession and bag limit (2 per day BUT: 4 possession NSW), VIC is 1 per day (2 at specific areas) 5 possession. Silver perch 30cm, 5 limit (in lakes and dams) for VIC but NSW is 25cm (in listed places) with 5 limit. Catfish is 30cm (note: Catfish can only be kept in vic from the areas of the Wimmera basin with a bag limit of 2). NSW varies from: 5,2,10 and 4 depending on where you’re fishing. Always good to have the information, its always super handy ay
Unusual for a black snake to hang around like that rob they normally can't get away quick enough
I think it may have felt cornered because as soon as I walked away it took off.
