They already have remotely controlled military helicopters and military fighters that are flown wirelessly. I saw a “drone” that carried a human without controls. What would you call this aircraft? I saw a “Drone” that was flown wirelessly that didn’t have conventional controls (a yoke, stick, collective, cyclic, etc). Then the guy controlling this “Drone” landed it in his practice field, got in and flew off, using the transmitter in his hands to control this aircraft without conventional controls. What would you call it?

I will still call it a drone because it looks like a RC drone and I have 6-7 of these. So come up with a more sophisticated name! It flew this way for a lot of hours and was called a “Drone” I believe and then one day a human sat in it but it was flown wirelessly for quite a few hours and I believe it was called a “Drone”. Then the person or passenger took physical control of this aircraft (Generic Name) and it was still called a “Drone”. Are the owners absolutely correct in calling this aircraft a Drone. As a materials engineer I feel deeply disturbed by some of these "designers" who seem to trust a lot on the 3500 rpm propellers not breaking apart at 1,5 meters away from their face/legs/body 2:16. I can´t believe one of the builders doesn´t even bothered in wearing some motocross leg armor with those blades at few centimeters of his legs. That's totally unwise, not to say dumb. Just because you can makeshift stuff together doesn't mean you can't get hurt. I am, that's why I understand every risk involved here. Guys this is a serious warning. If someone out there is planning to build something like this someday (I do, that´s why I´m here), design your thing with the concept of safety first. There´s a LOT of previous studies and lessons learned. Do your homework if you want to live long enough to build something that works.
Maybe you should go ask Orville or Wilbur Wright, if you can find him, this question. He was pretty close to those whirling blades. Most manufacturers of these type blades are pretty good technicians and engineers in their own right.

So you can create a world sized covered network by membership and lower the costeds. So transportion more out of the private sphere into the public sphere is the future I think. Because les roads are needed and less input into the invirement.

Make the pipes the props are mounted on a vertical wing profile and make them so they (motors and all) can rotate from vertical to horizontal some... Maybe also extend the wings out to the propeller's radius. ie: Get some lift from forward motion..!?

#5 isn't manned. There's no one in it. Just a helmet. And there's no such thing as a manned drone. These are man octocopters or "whatever" copters. Drone's are autonomous. None of these are "drones".

The term "manned drone" is an oxymoron; drone, a remotely controlled aircraft, an unmanned aerial vehicle.
If they are manned, then by definition, they are not drones.
I tend to call them Quadcopters, Hexacopters, Octocopters, Polycopters, n-copters, etc. But never drones, because they are manned.
