- A collection of Prince Philip moments and stories from over the years. I do not own clips, I merely compiled them for entertainment purposes.
Music at beginning and end is "The Duke" by Dave Brubeck. Развлечения
I love Prince Philip, met him at the museum,he felt sorry for me standing alone whilst my bosses fell over themselves greeting the Queen,he came over and said,'Perhaps you'd like to show me around young lady' ,it was years ago,my bosses were narked but it was a lovely few hours!!
OMG U R SO LUCKY😭😭
*_Now you're even luckier. No one will have such a chance ever again_*
I admire PRINCE PHILIP for his sense of responsibility, and his sense of humor. I Will always admire
PRINCE PHILIP for these qualities, and for many others.
What a charming people!
Damn that sounds like the start of a wattpad fanfic. You’re mad lucky. I would’ve pissed myself if I were in your situation
That is such a kind thing to do. So sweet.
“True to character, the Duke ignores protocol.”
That line describes him perfectly, lol such a true grandpa.
I think, the protocol was the greatest burden in his marriage. Always a step beyond, your childs don't geht your surname. Your wife is the boss. I'm curious, If something will change during the rein of King William one day with Queen consort Kate
I like him because he doesn't hide his personality...quite blunt, and direct..and he laugh a lot...
He was as handsome as any movie star. I believe their marriage was meant to be. The Queen never loved anyone else. Great couple.
The Queens family was against him because he is from a german family the Battenberg =Mountbatten.
@@Angelaius The Queen's family is also German (real name: Saxe Gotha Coburg). Windsor is an adopted name due to the anti-German sentiment in Great Britain after World War I. The reason the family was against the marriage is because Prince Phillip's family was disposed from Greece. They were a royal family without a country.
@@Angelaius Technically his house is Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Gluksburg, Battenburg was the origin name of Louis Mountbatten's House, who gave Philip his own name, to make it more palatable
@@maryanng6841 despite him not having a country to his own, has more royal blood than the queen herself. He's almost 98 percentage royalty whereas the queen is barely 37 percentage royalty.
He was so hot. I love him so much. 🤤
After watchjing 'The Crown" and learning more about Prince Philip I have a new understanding, appreciation and sympathy for him. He had such a tragic messed up childhood, being abandoned essentially by his parents, passed around to various relatives, losing his favorite sister and young nephews in a horrible plane crash when he was just 14 and having to be subordinate to his wife, the Queen, while putting on a brave face makes me appreciate his toughness and sense of humor.
Paula Houlden same here. I actually find him to be way more fascinating than I ever thought I would.
He’s truly very intelligent and interesting man.
I agree. I have a new appreciation and respect for him too. I think his sense of humor has gotten him through challenging times and I admire his loyalty to his Queen and country. Phillip has served the United Kingdom honourably and proudly.
Val O'Brien was a cousin
Philip was not abandoned his parents had to make sure of survival ! The Mountbattens did take him in Philip is Greek by birth .
My grandmother would say that he was very handsome as a sailor. He's given life and limb to Her Majesty. He deserves a well earned rest. Thank you. Duke of Edinburgh !
Wow, Philip was a real looker in his youth.
Still is.
@@nancyhobson9710 he's a walking corpse
@@have5599 We all go that way eventually but he still has a nice smile
@Kuchi Kopi I had noticed. Pity about that...
@@have5599 he looks great for a 98 yr old
I love Prince Philip's sassy, no-nonsense style. He's more handsome than the young Windsors now.
Princess is thw same way
That's usually the case. Parents and grandparents are more goodlooking than their offspring.
He reminds me of that fun grandpa that doesn’t take life too seriously and instead will still crack jokes like a teenager with his teenage grandchildren.
No one calls a horse a “bloody idiot” like Philip 😂😂
Reporter: they are a very private couple.
Phillip in the background: 😏
Banana Manchester hahah
Prince Philip Nek Minute: FINISHED? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The man’s almost a century old, instead of being triggered by his occasional out of date jokes, appreciate that the man’s trying to have a good time and come across as genuine.
I love him so much
IS a century old
I wish more people would find these nuggets of pure gold. There is one on RUclips about Charles as a young man and young bridegroom. If people could watch that with an open mind they’d see the real Prince Charles. Unfortunately I do not remember what it was called. Perhaps search “young Prince Charles” or some such. It’s worth finding. It shows how truly happy Charles and Diana were in their early years together.
...
I don't know why folks get so triggered over this guy. Sometimes you gotta let grandpa be grandpa.
Yes but it's what he said to people of different races but he wasnt nasty
amy clarke a lot of us were brought up in a different time things were lax some behavior has changed in the blacks but a lot of these uneducated young ones don’t understand what we all had to go through to get where we are we don’t cry we need white history month or Irish month or French month or Native American month we all deserve it but only one group does it I don’t care but what’s the darn difference each of us had slavery were mistreated and had tough times but we shut up and worked ourselves into another way of living it’s not handed to you get off your arse and make it happen as my 22 nd great Grandfather Sir John Of Elderslie any my 22nd great uncle Willam Braveheart Wallace move forward an conquer that’s one of my proudest moments learning of my kinship to men of distinction even though life was short for them I made it and that DNA still roars inside me
YEAHHHHH!!!!! He is almost 100y old! I like him!
@@1171 Racist much, because you have endured what slaves had to endure? The reason there's a black history month and not white is because black people's achievements were never credited, some white person was often given the credit for a black persons achievement. Whether in sciene or an invention or some other field, when were white people's achievements not credited to white people, have you missed all the statues of white men literally everywhere! People should pretend like nothing ever happend because idiots like you don't want to hear it, you are not going to change history to make white people look good in it sweetheart.
@@1171 Descendant of the Bruce's myself in Scotland, it's almost as daft as saying Robert de Brus was a traitor to Scotland, which he wasn't not especially when watching the far more accurate film thats just recently been released called the Outlaw King. 2021 he's just passed on... I've come to appreciate how remarkable He was. Cant stop reading about him and watching footage of him. What a guy !
I've come to like Philips personality thanks to the Crown.
GhostOfRhurValley Same

@Terius Kiddy fiddler
This is a man after my own heart! Clear, concise, straight to the point, no b.s. good for him
To be perfectly honest, I can see why Elizabeth fell for him.
Yes he was handsome as a god when he was young. Tall, blond and good looking. She first met him when she was 13 and never forgot it. He’s still impressive.
Fell for him? They were forced to breed like dogs 😂 to continue the bloodline
@@azysheff that isn't true, the Queen's parents disliked Philip deeply and wanted her to marry a wealthy aristocrat. But Elizabeth didn't listen and married Philip anyways against the whole court's will.

Charlotte Bruce maybe it’s cos she’d rather live a quiet life with her family than having to carry the huge responsibility of the Crown for the rest of her life idk 🤷🏽♀️
Don't forget he had a few flings on the side crafty bloke
Prince Philip, still young at heart!
boer 902 hes a character I find him intelligent and rather down to earth 🌍 admiration for the length of time they’ve spent together the friendship an mutual respect for each other is beautiful. He was a very handsome young man and Harry looks nothing like his grandfather or grandmother like I said before Prince Charles knows Harry’s DNA 🧬 and what Harry has came from Princess Diana and her family the Queens descendants resemble one way or another . So although we aren’t ever going to know that’s something that will always be hidden.
This man is ahead of his time, he had a brilliant career, yet gave it all up to be a "housewife", in the times when a man who did that was humilliated for life. But no, unlike the men of his generation, who were afraid of a woman with a job, this guy stood by the woman with the biggest, most powerful job position, and 60 years later, he's still doing it, and showing new generations what being a man is really all about.
I agree with all except the implication that "real men" are housewives...maybe only if your wife is the Queen is that true.
usagi18 mangina what sort of man gives up a career to be a house wife
usagi18 I see your last point, but you put it in a misleading way so let me suggest a different point of view. True manhood is about integrity and that requires some self-definition that might take you beyond sociocultural norms and stereotypes. As the husband of Her Majesty the Queen, that'll probably mean being number one in the household but number two in public. Thus, you would have to (train to) control a certain natural egotism for the sake of being a strong husband. Yes, that is an example of true manhood! Over the years, he has more and more represented strength, reliability, authenticity and modesty, turning the duke into a sort of role model that young charismatic, self-reliant Philip probably didn't have in mind but very much forwarded the spirit of the time! 👍🏼🙏🏻
usagi18 😂 make sure the dishes are done princess.
CHUPASART 34 a real one
I've always liked him for the simple fact that despite having 3 boys, his favourite child is his daughter. Similar to my own family.
I have one girl and three boys and never ever have admitted I have a favourite they are all equally loved.
Think it was probably just whichever child was the most like him. That happened to be his daughter
Anne is more like him in character:
yes, Princess Anne is just like him in her personality and attitude....look up some of her interviews,,,,she says whatever she likes to say, just like Phil....NO phoniness at all
He's always been an outsider, never quite fitting in anywhere. I think that's what makes him so endearing
Let's be honest, he was - and still is - a charming, handsome devil
Prince Charming himself
"Just take the fucking picture!"
Ctrl-Z pre ice william
Torrah "pre ice"?
gary cannon ??
He has the perfect combination of apathy, and total dedication towards his wife.
Dedication? He’s well known to have cheated.
"And how do you think of yourself now?"
"I don't, I'm just here!"
okay as someone who was born in Denmark and raised in England by Russian parents, I feel that 😂
His mother was actually British. She was the great granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
He was born in Corfu, Greece.
He was born in Greece
His mother was born in Windsor castle and she died in Buckingham Palace
I'm aware that he was born in Greece, guys, I was talking about myself
Prince Philip either felt he couldn't, or shouldn't show emotions or feelings in public.
Which was always such a shame, because those moments when he DOES let his guard down and "open up" he was such a charming, witty man!
RIP Prince Philip, Duke Of Edinburgh
I admire the Queen and Prince Phillip. They loved each other very much, and they still do. They are a wonderful couple. They worked with all the problems every other couple has had. He did choose that life. God bless them.
Well born Greek, he must looked like a God. He was beyond beautiful.. He might be old now but still witty and funny as hell.
Hung like Pegasus
He's a character and I think he loves and respects the Queen very much....
I don't know any other man who loves and respects his wife as much as he did. 🌹
Fun fact: His grandmother's sister was the last tsarina of Russia
Fun fact they used Prince Phillips DNA to confirm the identity of the Romanov remains that were found in 2007 (Maria and Alexei)
they were going to use the Dutch royal family's DNA but they refused. wonder why. Well I tell you why the dutch king is not related the third dutch king
Fun fact: His brother in law was a high ranking Nazi Party official
^ we cant ascribe too much to that. brother in law's are just that, brothers brought together in full adulthood as a result of often random circumstance (who falls in love with who)
its a common joke that in laws often loathe eachother, so hanging the man for the crimes of an in law is a bit much. even true brothers can have radically different outlooks and even morals

Got sent to school in Germany before things went silly.
There German but changed there name under Queen Elizabeth I believe to not have people have them thought of like the battle they had been through but all became English to think they’ve brought that uneducated m Markel no languages a narcissistic woman with cruel behavior and will be an embarrassment to the Royal family Harry should have abdicated taken Markel to live in obscurity not to work as a Royal white family he’s after all breaking laws by interracial marriage and his Uncle had to abdicate why doesn’t he? Queen Elizabeth I died in 1603...that was *not* when the Windsors changed their name.....
"The name was changed from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the English Windsor in 1917 because of anti-German sentiment in the British Empire during World War I."

He is such a supportive husband.😊
"If I can make life marginally more tolerable for people who come afterwards, or even at the time, I'd be delighted"
"I think to try and create a memorial to yourself while you're alive is slightly indecent"
I can see why they have Matt Smith playing him now.
Actually I was talking about The Crown, which is a TV show on Netflix. Maybe that's what you meant as well. Either way, I was referring to Matt's acting style and abilities being a good match for the role, not merely his looks. (Although in my humble opinion Matt is quite gifted in that department too.)

I think you're rude to Prince Philip thinking Smith is an apt physical comparison actually. Prince Charles is very charming and has a wonderful voice.
The contrast in personality between him and the queen is so marvelous. Opposites truly attract to one another.
I'm really going to miss this guy.

My favorite clip. Prince Philip on a big tricycle, Anne in front on some vehicle and Charles bringing up the rear on a red tractor. Priceless.check out 6:28 about. My brother and I had trikes like those. 🤣
Prince Philip's iconic gaffes and comments are memeworthy LOL. =D
Captivating. Very handsome, sexy, sporty, spirited and witty. What an interesting person, he’s so open, considering, it’s quite amazing. Yes, romantic, is right. Now, that’s a real art of being a true husband.
Indeed, Matt Smith is the best choice 😂😂
I don't know Prince Philip personally, but I love his "edged" and sometimes dark sence of humor - reminds me of my late father.

I have decided to watch this video at least once a day as it is pure delight to watch Philip do anything.
It's so fascinating how the man would always take questions literally. It's a rare thing, as most understand that questions are often about an assumed understanding that nuance is shared. Instead he would try to answer questions with a kind of honesty that is quite rare.
always a good trait a sense of humor
This video was so well put together. The vast number of clips flowed seamlessly and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. It must have taken a long time to make - so thank you kindly for your efforts. Again, a great video :)
