We definitely had fun in the 80s.
It was really a fun time being a kid back then 🤔
Which means you are now near death at your advanced age. Fun while it lasted, right!
@@drServitis yes that's correct and I'll still take it because I was able to experience those times, I'm glad I grew up back then something this generation will never know 😁
@@frankrizzo4460 Well I was born in '69, so I think I might be even nearer death than you are. In fact the light is already starting to dim, lol!
@@drServitis yeah I got you beat by a few years, still I rather have experienced those times in my younger days. We all gotta go sometime 🤔
Yes the 80's were great, there will never be another musical era as good ever.... So many bands, so many good times so many good songs.........
Yeap miss the 80s sooooooo much,awesome times👍
And so much variety. It was a time when Motley Crue, Madonna, Run DMC, Duran Duran, Journey, Michael Jackson, Prince, Expose and Tears for Fears could all be on Billboard at the same time. Today's pop music all sounds the same, generic and totally disposable.
Loooots of one hit wonders that are still played today
Born in the 80's raised in the 90's. Its like all originality was lost once we hit the new Millennium
@@rickyism1576 Instead people want to copy other people's work to try and take credit for making it better. Sad sad world we live in
"It's a leather jacket song" YES. 🤘😎
I could only afford a jean jacket..😥
LOL'ed at this so hard. Absolutely is such a rebel DGAF song.
@@dizastro5437 I had a jean jacket and got my mom to sew the Slave to the Grind cover in the back. Loved it.
Monkey Business, Wasted Time, Quicksand Jesus, In a Darkened Room, Remember Yesterday, Slave to the Grind, The Threat... Take your pick. Sebastian Bach in his prime has one of the most influential and amazing Hard Rock voices ever!
Some good lesser known tracks...can't stand the heartache, livin on a chain gang, firesign
remember yesterday?
Let's not forget Psycho Love
@@allroadsleadtoroam I think "I Remember You" was what was meant.
Indeed
Yes yes yes. This song in concert was amazing. An entire stadium full of people singing at the top of their lungs and fist pounding the air. So much fun. You’re also right that this was just a fun time to be alive, especially as a teenager. Those were the days, man.
So happy to see more Skid Row here! You know I’m always here for that.
Oh hell yeah now you're on to Sebastian Bach. This dude can straight up sing.
Great track, Slave to the Grind is still my favourite but you can't go wrong with their first 2 records
I reckon Lex is gonna like the first album better.
Laughed when you mentioned the leather jacket Lex. I was 16, Skid Row were the first metal band I really got into and I grew my hair out, bought a leather biker jacket with tasseled sleeves and spent hours sowing a Skid Row back patch onto it. Thought I looked the bomb. Loved that jacket! Good times!
You nailed that on the head. The 80s were a great time to be alive. Good, dirty, fun!! That's how I remember it. I was 13 in 1980. The 80s were a blast.
Me too, I was 13 to 23 during the 80's and would not EVER want it to be any other time....
80s were the greatest all the metal and fun time of my life
class of '87 here and if I could go back I'd be there with bells on!
Wow, Skid Row! What an incredible band. I saw them open for both Bon Jovi (New Jersey tour) and Guns N Roses (Use Your Illusion tour). It's the only time I've ever seen the opening band be just as good and entertaining as the headliner. They saved the day in Dallas when GNR were about 2 hours late. They came back on and did a second set so we wouldn't tear the place up. It was the first show after the GNR riot in St. Louis, and we almost had another one.
Gee... another bad story about G & R??!! How shocking 🤣. I saw them with Metallica in Denver and Axl threw one of his trademark temper tantrums and left the stage early, show over. I was really excited to see them for the first time and now I hate that POS!
Great show to see
Yes Lex, the 80's were a good time to be alive.
Life was fun & people were happy then. I still can't believe th world I see around me now😖
YESSS!!!! Please do Quicksand Jesus next!!
Skid Row was one of my favorites. Yes Lex, we had dirty fun in the 80's.
They were one of the very few bands that could stand up with the GNR onslaughtat the time.
Both bands are fantastic!!
GNR was good except Axl...I can’t stand his whiny voice...
@@davidsuttles101 That's a bummer. His voice is different in a bunch of songs. I love it. But he doesn't sing lead in all of them anyway and those are good too.
@@davidsuttles101 Kind of like we can't stand you whining. About one of the Greatest Vocalist of all time? Go smoke another bowl. While listening to more Nirvana garbage. You're in the wrong genre. This is Hard Rock/Metal. You want the can't sing, mumble, and suicidal genre.
The thing about the 80's is I think we had reached a level of technology that made our lives not just easier, but also fun, without being as intrusive and destructive as it later became.
well said
and ur right
If you’re listening to songs from the 80s and 90s you really should watch the videos. Videos were a huge part of how they represented themselves and the nature of the song back then. I know some videos get blurred but it’s worth it to try. Most of the songs I’ve seen the videos air without too much difficulty on other reaction sites.
I think they get copyright strikes and is why they dont show the vids anymore…cant say i blame them
Most of the songs they listen to I’ve seen on other reaction channels with a Video but I understand it’s probably more of a chance that it’ll have copyright issues.
@@alyas77 I’m pretty sure they have mentioned the copyright issue and the reason for just the lyrics
I find that Lex looks like a cross between Halle Berry and Zoe Saldana. That equals beautiful! And her personality is cool, energetic, smart, fun. I love Brad too! He is deep focused, listens to the songs more quietly than Lex but I think that is just cause he is focused. His comments are often really just perfection! Love to both Brad and Lex!
They had tons of energy live! They blew Guns N' Roses off the stage during the Use Your Illusion tour at the Forum in LA.
80's were absolutely a blast, 90's too. What i remember of the 70s wss just as cool, i was a little young to get into much...everything is sooo much different.
Born in 1970 great comment spot on
Being a teen in the 80s you are correct it was an amazing time as a teen.
Hell Yea
Saw Skid Row four times live back in the day. They were awesome. And yes, the 80's were a great time to grow up. I was 10 to 20 through the 80's. We had fun, and could still be a kid. Great music too!!
I'm 46 years old so this shit was my shit I love all kinds of music
‘80s were a fun time to be alive! Looking forward to seeing Sebastian Bach at end of November performing Slave to the Grind. Love both SttG and self titled album. Dig the reaction.
This one’s so great. It’s hard to listen without screaming along!!
Skid Row were also lumped in the hair band genre, had some power ballads, but they also went pretty hard with songs like Piece of Me, Monkey Business, The Threat, Medicine Jar. I think Lex will really dig those.
I tried to get our high school to make this our graduation theme song… they didn’t 😞 lol
Their best song IMO.
I loved this, 18 and Life, I remember you....
Quicksand Jesus for me. My all time favorite song in general. Followed by Wasted Time and In a Darkened Room, respectively.
@@matthewzachary88 you are correct
@@matthewzachary88 I forgot about those songs! They are one of the few metal groups that I never saw live.
Ozzy sniffed ants in front Motley Crue. They always priclaimed to party the most and ozzy said hold my beer...
IT WAS NICKY SIXX THE BASS PLAYER FROM MOTLEY CRUE AFTER OZZY OSBORNE PULLED DOWN HIS PANTS AND DID A SHIT ON THE HOTEL ROOM FLOOR, THEN TOMMY LEE THE DRUMMER FROM MOTLEY CRUE NEARLY THREW UP SEEING THAT, AND THEN NIKKY SIXX WENT OUTSIDE TO SNORT ANTS, BUT I STILL THINK IT WAS COLUMBIAN ANTS!!!!!
I have watched these two a lot. I feel that I have figured out the crazy vivid difference between the two. Brad reminds me of a person who is color blind. He can appreciate the structure of the art but a lot of the vivid beauty of music doesn’t connect with him much like a person who cannot see color would look at paintings. I feel this is why lyrics are so important to him. It is the main connection for him. Lexi is the opposite, her mind connects sonically in the brightest way possible which is why she hears singing as another instrument and doesn’t catch the lyrics as much.
The one time I felt he actually connected with the sound and was truly moved was listening to the Cranberry’s of all people. This again is like a color blind person. They can see some colors so those colors are truly beautiful to them.
Mid 80'S to early 90's I was in my teens. Best era in musical metal for me. Maiden, Metallica Skid Row, AC/DC, Judas Priest and of course, Guns 'n Roses. the kings.
Lex is right. The 80's w a great time to be a teenager. The music was very diverse, from punk, to funk, to rap, to metal. We had everything!
Yes it was a great time to be alive. Before cell phones , internet bullshit.
We cruised around in our cars listened to our music and had fun.
Had the... pleasure? Of chatting with Sebastian a few times. The guy is off his rocker and crazy. Conversations with him are insane. It's like he's always on a speedball. I love it
Lex, if I had a single person I’d want to jam with, it’s you! Love your appreciation and can feel you getting the amped feeling we got when this came out. Hope your latest addition to your family is amazing ❤️
This was on radio when I was 15. Love these good old days . Listening to this on one of my playlists takes me back fr. His hair was phenomenal too lol
Lex is so cool. She's a hard rock child at heart. Great reaction to a great song.
I just found your channel yesterday and I am so very glad that RUclips recommended it. I love the energy that you both have and really enjoy the discussions that the music brings up. My favorite vidoes are the Tom MacDonald ones and the questions they bring up during your reaction. Please don't ever stop doing this. Thank you!
Please do more of these guys. I promise u won't be dissapointed.
Brad and Lex!!! I love you two!!! Your reactions are priceless. Lex, your smile is Soooo infectious. This totally made my day. this song was one of my favorites when I was growing up in the 80's. This brings back so many memories. thank you for sharing!! :)
For me the defining sound is the Bass and drums. The drums were always driving and heavy but not always fast and the Bass players seemed to be exceptional.
Maybe because they were influenced so much by the incredible funk players from the '70s and then mixing it with a heavier edge.
The '80s Pop band Bass players are more noticeable for it than the ''80s Rockers who mostly went for the more simplified punk sound from the '70s, But both approaches led to an incredible decade of backline music!
THIS! This was my anthem in Highschool!
Brad looking concentrated and Lex just smiling and rocking out!! Love it 😂
I can only imagine this being such a fun call and response song
Oh yeah that was a '80s youth anthem. A lot of us wore the leather jackets and the leather pants with a double belt. Smoking cigarettes (and other things.) We were the youth gone Wild. 🤘 Lex you would have so fit with us back in the '80s. From one rock chick to another, rock on. 🤘
I loved growing up in the 80’s , so much fun . These guys were great live , they still aren’t too bad .
I love your guys rock reactions! 🤘😜💯
I am so glad I was in my late teens and 20s in the 80s. Saw lots of classic stuff in the 70s but the 80s were the party. Nothing beats a hard rock/metal concert in the summer. Metal girls, great tunes, lots of parties. If you were there it was great. I dont think it will ever come back again sadly.
One of my favorites! Loved the whole album. You should hear Warlock too.
Your instincts about the 80's is correct. Coming off the 70's, which were tough, Vietnam, economic depression, the 80's were a comeback. And the music reflected the optimism and good times. Of course I'm biased being that those were my teenage years. Which in part is why I call them the Greaties.....
Wasted time and I remember you are Skid Row musts. Wasted time really showcases Sebastian's incredible voice and range.
Great concert!!! Awesome album, listened to it 100's of times. And that was just when it came out in '89
This song though. The youth gone wild…. We used ta be… Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
This is the raising hell anthem song. Hanging out with your best buds, loud rock music, drinking, partying, breaking the law, and getting into fist fights when need be.
Being one of youths in the 80's in a small rural town, there was a group of us. Leather jackets, blue jeans, concert tees, hot rods.
The concert was awesome! I saw many of the “80’s” rock bands and they were so much fun!
Lex nails it! "It's a leather jacket song." I'm still in love with you, Lex!❤
I appreciate your fast intros!
Ahhh the memories! Friday night and we’re piling into the 72 chevelle out to get wasted and cause mayhem!
I'm 52 and yes we were the youth gone wild! We had more fun then you will ever experience!
Dirty fun, So true
Skid Row kicked ass back in the day
One of the great voices as well
I was born when this album came out. I can only thank my own father to hear this...to know this band and other rockbands from 80's! More Skidrow !! =)
The 80s was the best time to be a teenager 🤘
Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones is the one that snorted a line of his father's cremated remains. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger, I guess. The man has been alive forever.
Keith has been dead since 1981... But no-one's bothered to tell him yet. 😁
Go Lexi!! 80's was AWESOME!!
I remember when this song was released I rocked it as a teenager 🤘🏻80's was the best time!
So cool to see the younger crowd getting into 80's metal. There are some live vids of this song on RUclips you can check out. Skid Row rocked!
Damn I loved that song. Takes me back to good times. Thanks for this reaction:)
Music in the 80s was amazing. It was so good (to me) that I'd always be wishing I could hear it all again for the 1st time even like only a day or 2 later. It's true to have envy when you know someone else is hearing an amazing song for the 1st time.
I was 14 to 23 in the 80s and yes it was an excellent time to be alive. Partied hard, good good times. Great reaction again
Saw Skid Row when they opened for Motley Crue while I was stationed in Germany. Great show!
I’m an 80’s guy was a fun time. Sad how people are so afraid to say crap today. Love u both!
You guys are doing all my favorite songs!!!
This was my jam 30 years ago as a young teen. I would blast it through them head phones, especially when my parents pissed me off. Haven't heard it in eons but still know it word for word...my parents pissed me off a lot. LOL Great reaction guys. Lex is the cutest!
Yes we had fun in the 80s great time to be alive and music united us all!
She makes these comments like leather jacket song that are damn spot on!!
An absolute anthem!
Yes! The 80's were a blast! A lot of good, dirty fun!
the 80's had many bands tearing up stages and people loved this awesome era.
Monkey Business song shows how they still rocked after Youth Gone Wild. Some great riffs and cowbells in it.
So glad my Californian cousin introduced me to this type of music! Even 33 years down the road this song still kicks ass!
My favorite part of this song is when they sing: I said "hi man, there's something that you oughta know I'll tell ya Park Avenue leads to
Skid Row “. I love when bands use their name in the lyrics of a song especially when the title of the song isn’t even the band’s name!
Yes! You did Skid Row!! 🙌
Thx Lex & Brad. I just noticed you are live right now so I am going to keep it short & sweet.
My favourite Skid Row Song. Takes me right back to the 90s when my friends and I had a band and learning all our favourite tracks. Never got the hang of this one. 😭🤣
The video for this was on many times a day when I was a teen. I watched it every time and loved it. 🙂
My first concert... Skid Row opening for Bon Jovi. And yes, this was amazing live!
We had many ways of having fun in the 80's. Always badass music on the radio.
It was a good time to be alive. Skid Row opened for Bon Jovi in 89. My first concert... walking into the arena was like being baptized or something.
Oh Lord. Sebastian was a BEAUTIFUL specimen. Holy CRAP!
I saw them twice in the first few years they hit, awesome in concert, that voice...
The best times ever! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great reaction, gotta check out, In a darkened room.
I would buy Brads concert ticket to Slid Row if he actually jumped up and sang with his hands in the air. Love to see it.
I remember when this song came out! It was a perfect song to blast as loud as your stereo could blast it and my car would get destroyed because of everybody head banging and thrashing around! Soo much fun!
Imagine the crowd on concerts loudly say "hey !" Hey ! " when the drumbeats has been started in 3:42.. It was a lot of fun when we go to the Heavy Metal / Hard Rock concerts back in 80's..💥💥😎
I love these two. RUclips’s ultimate power couple
I was in a band back in the day and we did this number! Fun song!
80’s Rocked! Got to see all the great bands!
I did hear it in concert, yes I'm old, yes they effing rocked
Love this song!
