      I use the robot mostly as a supplement to my normal TT routine. I prefer to train with partners and use the robot when I feel I need to fine tune something. I also used it in the past when it was hard to find a partner with similar schedules. Sorry I cannot give you a quantifiable answer but this robot has great flexibility in programming sequences.

    • @axfrayberg
      @axfrayberg  2 года назад +1

      yep, that is my biggest weapon. It has a natural powerful wrist and arm rotation, ever since I was a teenager. I think it has to do with bone structure. I am unable to generate such power and spin on Forehand, plus trying to do so results in using 10x more energy making me tired quickly. I need to build more stamina for that. Good observation, I get many compliments on my BH especially when it’s on fire.

    hello, thanks for sharring video,. can u please tell about the tablet quality this robot have and what is the quality of robot serve. and it is placed in center of table can it be put on left or right side. thanks

    • @axfrayberg
      @axfrayberg  2 года назад +2

      tablet quality is ok, not great but not terrible. I often use my phone instead of the tablet. Regarding serve quality, this is a challenge for all robots and I must say this robot does the best from those which I have sampled. It has limits, it cannot do a fast dead ball serve, but it can do many topspin variations and a bunch of short serve with heavy or light backspin/sidespin. You can adjust the height of the head to help with this. I find it best to use the highest ring for the head when working on backspin short serves.

    How different is this from power pong omega. They look identical. Same manufacture with different branding?

    • @axfrayberg
      @axfrayberg  3 года назад +1

      I don’t know, never tried the power pong but I’d say that the Amicus Prime App is so flexible and easy to use. Ability to visually configure exercises and make adjustments is very intuitive in my opinion.

    • @ShivkumarJhadr
      @ShivkumarJhadr 2 года назад +2

      PowerPongt is essentially the same robot with different mother board in the robot. This is swappable by PowerPong if needed. So Amicus prime can become PowerPong and use PowerPong app which is a bit more user friendly and more organized. Download the free app for both and see which one you like more. Both essentially do the same thing. I got stuck with butterfly but i like the user interface of PowerPong better. Personal choices.

      @@jimtran7447 Of course I have wondered the same, if the software is interchangeable between the two robots. I am not familiar with Power Pong software interface but I must say that I am very happy with the Amicus Prime app. It seems easy to use and easy to customize.

      @@axfrayberg Glad to hear the amicus prime work well. I just bought one too...Can't wait to try it. According to Megaspin, the Power Pong app is actively being improved with new features at the time of writing this article and customer app reviews are very favorable. Butterfly recently released a bug fix update for their Android app, showing that the app is still being maintained. Both robots are built to perform for a long time, so having an active team behind the continued development of the training experience may be an important factor in the long run. Both apps can be downloaded from the respective app stores to be tested so we recommend trying the apps out for yourself and reading their app reviews to help you make your decision. The Power Pong app does a lot of the work for you by calculating the ball trajectory based on the table, speed and spin settings. The Amicus Prime allows for a maximum of ten different shots for each drill compared to the limit of eight for the Power Pong 5000. While it is uncommon for a player to use more than five or six distinct shots in a single drill, this difference may impact your buying decision. The Amicus Prime comes pre-programmed with 20 drills designed by German Butterfly coach Richard Prause. The integrated videos demonstrate proper execution of these drills. The Power Pong 5000 has 12 pre-programmed drills and both robots can store as many customized programs as your device can hold which are really cool...

    • @larrythoman9661
      @larrythoman9661 3 года назад

      @@axfrayberg The apps for these 2 robots are not interchangeable. The Amicus app does not work with PowerPong and PowerPong app does not work with Amicus. Those apps will not connect with the other brand, so no way to even transfer any commands, much less have those commands executed properly.

    Hi there, great video. Can I just ask something. It looks like you don't load the machine with balls like other robots and do does it keep sucking the balls up from the net so it can keep going for a long time, providing you hit the balls onto the net. 😁

    • @axfrayberg
      @axfrayberg  3 года назад +2

      Yes, that is correct, there is a tray which collects the balls and reuses them. This is very common for higher end robots. The lower end robots often do not come with a net.

      My opinion is, any robot is great to help with certain aspects of the game. You can use it for exercise and warmup purposes, also to help reinforce something you struggle with, maybe heavy backspin to forehand, or transitions from BH to FH or there are countless use cases. However, do not mistake this machine as a substitute for a coach. If you hit 500 balls with incorrect technique in your swing or footwork, you will instill that poor technique when playing a human. With a coach, the poor technique will get addressed instantly. So the robot is just an extra tool you can use, and good as a supplement to proper training, but not a replacement to formal training.

      I am not a Butterfly technician, but first thing I would do is clean/wipe everything, make sure there is no buildup of grime on the metal plate, spinners, and the ball tube. Then I would check for any software and firmware updates. Also, I assume you are using the correct size balls, but if they are very old, consider getting a new set of balls and see if the same is happening. Butterfly tech support is very good, I have talked to them in the past. Consider reaching out to them by email.
