- Thinking about moving to Fontana California? Well you may want to hold up on that.
Fontana is a fine city with a little over 200,000 people living here but, there are both pros and cons to Fontana. And if you don't know about both, you may be upset about the move you made.
Unfortunately it seems that so many videos that talk about Fontana only give one side of the story. Don't get me wrong, living in Fontana isn't bad.
But again, you deserve to know both sides of the story so that you can decide if Fontana is the city for you.

Former Fontucky resident here. I got married to my amazing Swedish wife and moved out to Sweden to be with her. While I definitely love it here in the city of Göteborg I get a sense of nostalgia every time I see my childhood city of Fontana!
Nice I'm glad we were able to do that for you. Where about in Fontana were you from?
@@JoseSepulvedaSoCalRealtor Grew up between Alder and Foothill but moved to the Sierra Lakes area in my high school years. Cheers from Sweden! 🇸🇪
the WIND is INSANE here. like i remember when i was a kid always seeing fallen over trees everywhere😂
The wind coming down through the Cajon Pass can really get going. Sounds like you don't live in the area anymore?
@@JoseSepulvedaSoCalRealtor i am currently living here. Fontana has always been considered home even when i moved. my grandparents have lived here for 30 +yrs
One more thing to have mentioned is the wind, but other than that…spot on!
I realized that after we uploaded it definitely should have brought that up. Thanks for watching though. Do you live in Fontana then?
How do you make a Fontana video and not bring up the wind?!
And earthquakes. I lived in off Citrus & Jurupa back in 1999. You can really feel the small earthquakes in a two story home. Also we would watch the sliding glass door bend with high winds.
You know it’s bad when the wind is bending doors!
I know that the fences there, have to be built stronger than normal, they really beef up the footings for the block walls.
@@scottg247 I guess we have grown too used to it but wind should probably have made #1 on the list
I grew up in Fontana now i live in Pennsylvania way different. I live in Amish country here yes they still use horse and buggy if they are amish but my mom and family are still back home in Fontana right on merrill ave still by the California's sppedway. I miss home Fontana is not a bad place it's a city like everywhere else it has its good and bad . Definitely miss the santa ana winds. I was one of those lucky one to see Fontana bloom i saw the the steelmill was still in use and opening day of the speedway, the build of Ontario mills and Victoria gardens when before it was just endless open fileds of grapevines. The development of Southridge and summit/ north Fontana. The expansion of the cherry, citrus and Sierra on ramps Definitely a good place to grow up in
That is such a great point, every city has pros and cons. You definitely sound like you got to see a lot of the growth that happened here in Fontana. How long ago did you move there? (crazy though, I thought the Amish using horse and buggies was only in the movies these days)
Fontana resident here. Here is my list: #1 reason why not to move to Fontana is the WINDS!! #2 reason, lack of housing options. Thats it. I dont mind the traffic because it could be worse like other cities.
I know the winds usually rank up there for most people. Otherwise it really is a pretty popular city. I appreciate your input 😃
You Forgot Al Capones House, Sammy Hagar isn’t the Only Celebrity of Fontana, you also have Travis Barker. Fontana is a city if your Car breaks down you have a high number of people and Parts shops combined with specialty shops that can repair your car.
I appreciate your input. You're right, I totally missed the Al Capone house.
I'm in central Fontana I was actually wondering if you've ever heard of the Stringfellow Acid Pits?
Isn't that something about toxic dumps going on back in the 80s or 90s. I've heard of it but not too familiar though.
It use to take us 1/2 hour to cross over Sierra Ave. to Valley Blvd in 1998. I couldn't imagine it now. We decided to move back to Anaheim. Only stay for two years. The commute was to far for us. We worked in Orange County. I do miss a little now that we are retired.
It gets pretty congested there for sure
Nissan not that bad as orange and la area
Anaheim is 3 times more expensive than fontana

What about HOA and Mello Roos. Those are key factors to know about Fontana.
Depends on where you're buying in Fontana but yes that can become a factor. Not something unique to Fontana though. Do you currently live in a home with those?
I live in Downtown Riverside. Drive through Fontana a lot though.
I lived in Fontana since 1989 have it’s cool. Not perfect. But the winds are crazy but we use to it.
That's quite a long time but yes I agree the winds are definitely something you will experience living in Fontana
@@JoseSepulvedaSoCalRealtor my folks moves us from LA in 89. I moved out when I was 22 to Alta Loma. Got married at 30. And ended up buying a home in north Fontana. At the time we looked at the house I forgot about the winds 😂😂😂
@@nesco7615 that's too funny. Right when you thought you were out.. Fontana pulled you back in 😂
@@JoseSepulvedaSoCalRealtor thanks for replying wish you the best on your channel and your business. God bless bro
@@nesco7615 thanks I appreciate it
I used to live in Glendora for over 13 years but I got tired everything old and the house is so small and they want so much money for it! I like living in Fontana. It’s a growing city with the speedway Great hiking trails bicycle trails skateboards parks a lot of fun things to do and you have the Ontario Mills on the left you have the Victoria Gardens on the right and everything IS NEW❤ 👏whenever I go to Orange County or Los Angeles or Pasadena or anywhere. I miss coming back home to my new surroundings. It feels nice. and it keeps growing 👌😃👏🥰
Very true. There's a lot here in Fontana and it does keep growing. There are still new homes going up here.
Been living in Fontana since 1999 winds are crazy. The speedway is tore down. It’s history other than that. Don’t mind living here.
I agree I think other than the winds there are many positives here in Fontana
I moved to Fontana when I was 8 years old in 2001. Ontario mills still had the skatepark, Victoria gardens was brand new. I grew up in water of life church. Lots of open empty fields, and parks. It seemed like there was a lot of good community activities to. So kids I met in summer camp I would see again when school started. My mom made friends in things like Zumba when that was starting up. A great place to grow up. In 2023, I’m not sure if I would hang around Fontana lol
Nice.. sounds like you got to watch a lot of the growth Fontana experienced over the past 20 years. Where did you move to today? Still near by?
@@JoseSepulvedaSoCalRealtor I live in Redlands now! It’s not too different from Fontana. But I enjoy it. It’s quiet and clean. I really enjoy downtown Redlands, the Redlands mall area. It’s a nice atmosphere with plenty around to do.
@@KXLXI ok. I agree Downtown Redlands is really nice.
I used to live in Glendora Nice expensive city for 13 years but the homes are old and small yet they want a fortune for their homes😳 and because their homes are older, therefore you have to spend money fixing those old homes if it’s not one thing is the other no thank you!😞same as the other Cities Orange County, Los Angeles County, Ventura County etc. Their homes and surroundings are Old ☹️ I really love Fontana is new and modern City 💗then we have Victoria Gardens Mall on the right and Ontario Mills Mall on the left, the California speedway👍skateboard parks, bicycle trails great hiking trails as well not to mention, a lot of entertaining and lots of fun things to do and most of all everything is new around the homes all the surrounding I enjoy the New and modern atmosphere Fontana is a great city to live❤🥰👏👌
There really is a lot more to Fontana than many people realize
I have videos of when i lived in fontana from the 90s. Fontana back then was not a fully desirable area. Makes me of think of Victorville 2024. But people liked Fontana because its a lot cheaper to buy here compared to Covina ca we moved from. But NOW in 2024, fontana is a lot more "desired " than ever before. It now like the NEW "Covina" ca.
As far as Victorville, that city is Growing! But this city as of 2024 now makes me think of how Fontana used to be in 1991
That is a great break down of Fontana over the past 20 to 30 years! Definitely a city that has become one of the more popular locations here in the Inland Empire.
Fontana needs a Downtown like West Covina, Covina, Upland, Downey. Also needs way more Shopping south of Valley.
North Fontana is nice. You are close to everything. Been here for 13 yrs. It’s great!
Definitely pretty nice up in North Fontana. Glad to hear you're happy there. Just curious where did you move there from?
Thinking of moving there. Sounds like it’s pretty nice then.
@@msgenevajb let me know if I can help
I lived in Southridge since 1999 Beautiful place it was an escape from the LA life. Along came warehouse warren. 80+ warehouses in like 5 years with no large scale shopping.
I was told by Philip (city council member) we cannot compare North and South Fontana because we are different. Seemed a little Belittling and racist to me, and no Businesses wants to deal with South Fontana.
While the Crime and homeless are not nearly as bad here than Central and closer to North Fontana.
Residents in South Fontana Don't Shop in south Fontana. Well that part he is correct, maybe because we have near to nothing in South Fontana to Shop at.
If you are a Trucker or Warehouse Owner you get free passes to break Traffic laws in South Fontana too, like Drive a Fully loaded Simi down Live Oak which is rated for no Trucks over 5 Tons, destroying our homes. Yes Law Suits are in the works.
No there's not too many shopping opportunities in South Fontana but fortunately there are quite a few options near by such as the Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens. Sorry to hear your experience hasn't been great though.. let me know if I can ever help you find an area that is more enjoyable for you.
@@JoseSepulvedaSoCalRealtor It is not the City or Residents it is the leadership. Good thing they come and go.
Fontana is a nice, busy city.
Vegas better
I think Fontana definitely has some great positives
I live at Rialto which is 29 minutes away from Fontana
Are you referring to the city of Rialto? That's right next door to Fontana.
Rialto is a hop skip and jump from Fontana. Not no 29 minutes
@@randylicon1230unless he mean by walking. 😂
@@fueledbymusic3 I'm in Fontana, and I can get to Rialto in like 5 - 10 minutes walking.
Great place to grow up in, growing old seems plausible but questionable
Interesting, why do you say that?
im indian 🇮🇳god video in fontana
Not sure what you are saying but I hope it's that you found the the video to be good?
I would never move out of the U.S. to California.
What state are you in?
Well, that’s good cause we don’t need any more non-Americans living here in California. We don’t miss you at all.
Well, good for you. We don’t need any more non-Americans living here anyway we won’t miss you one bit.
It was good enough for Al Capone.
That's funny but true.. he had a get away here in Fontana
