Wow…this was a great interview. This has really hit home! I’ve always been told I’m overly sensitive too, and it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve realized it was the cause of a lot of my issues in childhood. I still suffer from it. My experience with sports is very, very similar to yours Alex. Starting in childhood I had a fear of being on a public stage and being judged or criticized. My very first play in kindergarten in front of the parents, I got sick and couldn’t go on. Same exact story as yours with high school sports. I was extremely athletic, but I couldn’t perform for fear of being on public display. I also had an aggressive Football coach who made me fearful of screwing up. I ended up just quitting. It haunts me to this day. I’ve abused alcohol since high school, for the past 25 years. I’m hoping to change course as of now. Also…I love the parrot! I didn’t even see him until 5 minutes in!😆
