Wow. This video is everything I need in life. I absolutely LOVE dragons, zombies, and speed-process videos. Excuse me while I watch this video an absurd amount of times.
Hello! I've been reading through the comments section and it looks like you read and respond to what most people have to say. Plenty have said the same below me, but you're work is absolutely beautiful as well as inspiring. It's wonderful to see people like you with such passion in what you do when most give up their dreams and hobbies for "realistic" jobs that consume most free time.
You are very kind Sarah. Thank you for taking the time to write. It always easy to follow your dreams particularly in the art world. I taught school for many years to pay the bills. Well, I do love teaching too. But I did art throughout my time. It "feeds" me the right way. Take care Dan
Holy cow!!! These look absolutely amazing! I am stunned by your sheer talent, as well as the amount of hours you must put into your projects. If there is such a thing as talent by osmosis, I would never stop hugging you... oh... maybe I'M a bit creepy...
Thank you! :-) I love your paper mache videos, even though they are WAY out of my league... I'm glad I'm not as creepy as I thought! I love that you're one of the few RUclipsrs to respond to their fans. Please make more videos! :-)
Eleanor Phillips I'm always working on videos. But it takes a lot of time to make the art and the videos. Thank you for your kind words and your patience!
Just a few days ago, I started on my first papier mache dragon, thanks to you :) I love your videos and your work! I've already started painting my dragon (which I have lovingly named Steve). I'll be sure to share photos with you once it's finished. Thanks for the inspiration!
Taking the making of paper mache creatures to an entire new level x3 If you plan on doing it, just see this and marvel at the horror that is Zombie Dragon! ;)
Hey Stella. I'm sure you see any flaws in anatomy. But no one can match the anatomy of your projects. But this was fun and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks as always for your support. Dan
Another amazing creation! This is definitely my favorite of all the dragons you've done; I absolutely love it. You're very talented!! I can't wait to see more!
Wow this was amazing! I am totally going to be using your cloth mache technique, that is brilliant , thank you for sharing your knowledge and artistic abilities with us! Btw, what did you teach when you were a teacher? Just curious! Channon xoxo
Hello Channon. Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm happy that you like my videos. Yes, the cloth mache works really well. Good luck to you. Dan PS. Oh, and I was a math teacher. I know, it sounds odd. But math and art are more closely related than people realize. Take care
All of your pieces are incredible. I love watching these progress videos, they're so fascinating and it's so cool to see it come to life. Keep up the great work!
Hi GourmetPaperMache! I'm from Argentina, I'm 12 years old and I'm going to use the words that I know. Your work or hobby it's amazing, when I saw your dragons y got surprised! I like very much the things that you do! All I want to say is, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well... The best for you! Fran.

Dan, I have ran out of brilliant things to say about your work and creativity. You just continue to blow all your viewer's minds with your breath taking work. Who would have ever thought I would be on a site making scary dragons? You have me hooked, but only on your site. So excited to see you posted another video. Can't wait until the next one! It is not nice to keep a lady waiting soooooo long. lol Renae
Thank you Renae (I'm glad told me your name)! You are always really supportive. I appreciate it very much. This project took a long time. Hopefully the next won't take quite this long. Thanks for your patience. Dan
You must be Douglas! Thank you very much! I am very happy you like the work. I think you will enjoy this medium. I will ship the books first thing tomorrow. Have fun!
@@Gourmetpapermache This is definitely different from 3rd grade paper mache!! I have another question if you would be so kind.. When you're dipping your clothe in glue, do you water the glue down like I've seen with other people? I've managed to get get my teeth glued and wrapped today, and the clothe lining inside inside thejaws, just seemed a little thick and was hard to manipulate. But for a first try, I think it come out pretty good! Thanks again for your help!!! Doug.
@@scratchbuilder101 I don't add any water to the white glue. The thicker the better for me. It holds the cloth down better if it is thick. But it's just a matter of preference. Experiment until you get the consistency you like. Good luck Doug!
Crazy one Dan, definitely unusual, whole lotta work there! I can't believe you did the wig and makeup for just that short, cute little cameo, loved that!
What cameo? ha ha. This way I know who watched the entire video. It got to be a bit long. I try to keep them at 3 minutes. Yes, it was a lot of work. For much of it I didn't know if it would be worth it. But I like it now. It's not perfect. But I'm okay with it. Comments like yours helps. Thank you as always. Dan
Hi again Rachel. I am happy that you like this one too. If I had to do it again I would make it even more rotten. I wanted to have enough to show the original dragon (before death on one side, after on the other), but it would have looked better being more of the latter. Thanks for taking the time to write. Dan
I just recently found your channel by searching through many other blogs on how to do paper mache. One of the artists mentioned using your ideas to help them, so here I am. Your stuff is really great! I've considered using paper mache on some art projects for halloween this year for the fist time. I just want do do a small dragon skull and a staff. Your videos have been very helpful. I've had many ideas on what I want to do this year but I wasn't sure where to start. So thanks for your inspirations.
You are too funny John! You know, I actually thought a bit about how I could dress Eddie up for the part. But I realized that he would have no part of it. Glad you like this dragon. Dan

poor thing didn't stand a chance against the sickness. it infected every dragon in my town and now this dragon had fallen victim to it's awful wrath. may the ancestors look after you, May they look after us all.
A fitting comment!
GourmetPaperMache your welcome, I Love dragons and I'm also a writer and the Dragons you make put me in a writing mood. the ancestor part came from spyro.
Cool dragon. 😆
Do you have a turorial on how to make horns? I think this style in particular would be great for a headpiece!
Hello April. I don't have a tutorial specifically on horns. But I show how to do this work on my blog and in my books.
Dan
Dan do you ever use references , or do you think of as you go along , or do you plan beforehand?
Hello Tallline. If I'm making a commission that is modeled after a painting (like my Tiamat Dragon) or a movie (like Smaug) then I use them as a reference. Otherwise I don't use anything. I can see what I want in my mind's eye. Thanks!
Dan
It would be amazing if one of these days you can give one of these sick dragons away in one of your videos. I would love to try to win one and put it on my wall. Great video man, Hope to see more vids from you
Hello Andy. Maybe I'll do that sometime. Thank you for the idea. And thank you for the very nice comment. I really appreciate it.
