Watching your'e videos prepatory to my right shoulder replacement. I had bilateral knee replacement some years ago without a stitch of trouble. I was sent home with percoset to take as needed and to not wait until i was in pain before next dose. I was back to work full time (and off percocet) in 2.5 months. I did so well im anxious now...

Personally, I would avoid the Benedril for itching. Instead use a newer antihistamine like fexofenadine Hcl. to avoid adding to anticholergenic burden.
I plan to have my total reverse shoulderr replacement surgery as an out-patient, avoiding general anesthesia, opioids and IV sedation. Because I have been unsucessful in finding a high volume shoulder surgeon in the Pacific NW who is comfortable with what I'm asking for, I'll be going out of the area for mine.
I am enjoying your video tips and am sure I'll find some of them useful when the time comes.

I am having shoulder surgery Tuesday Oct 24th. The surgeon has prescribed Oxycodone and I am allergic to Hydrocodone and afraid to take it.

Had rotator cuff repair, decompression, as well as removal of ac joint end surgery 4 days ago, I took those narcotics for 2 days. That stuff is awful and caused severe nausea & constipation, 6 days of no movement and ended up in the ER. I Just can’t understand how anyone gets addicted to it.

Just had this done! AWFUL PAIN! Had my left shoulder replaced and that was a breeze next to this rotator cuff repair! My tear was full thickness and they could not do arthroscopic.

I have a full thickness tear also plus other ugly things going on in my shoulder like a SLAP injury and some other high grade tears. My surgery is April 7th. I'm dreading the surgery.

Can't take Tylenol and opioids don't give me constipation.

  • @adventureswithfrodo2721

Percoset is oxycodone. If you you would have to take 10 percent to approach a toxic level of Tylenol.
Also take benadryl if you get itching.

I only used the Percocet for three days. I stopped that and used the Diclofenac Sodium, which is an ant inflammatory. Works like a charm. No pain whatsoever
