I read about you before I saw your video. It is really good too see someone with all that good gear and desire to go out and catch them and release them. Those children were having a ball!

Hello From Winston Salem NC . Been there on that lake fishing with my Dad . Memories Of My Life With Dad . I Love Him So Much For All The Life Of The Outdoors He Taught Me. We have over 100 pound Blue Cats in NC . Let Me Know If You Want To head this way I will take you all fishing. 😊
This is very interesting knowing I watched my dad pull out a 70+ pounder in Arizona and got zero recognition! No hate though this guy found a way to capitalize on the opportunity, my family was pulling out 40+ pounders every other fishing trip
That is a big catfish I live in Texas and no joke me and my brother about 8 years ago we caught a yellow cat on trotline that weighed 74 lb it was 4 ft
CHANGED MY PRFILE PIC AND ON A NOTHER NOTE JUST CAUSE U CANT DONT MEAN I CANT WE HAVE IT STRINGED UP ON THE DOCK AT RATTLE SNAKE COVE GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NONE SKILLS FRIEND
Fresh water freight trains I was able to hook one in September of 13 I've been fishing for over thirty years and let me tell you this fish had my whole upper body on fire my forearms were so tired on third run out I almost handed the rod over to my uncle to finish him off the fish only weighted 34 pounds but caught like no other the bluegills were Higón the shorelines that night at Bartlett lake in Arizona I think they knew that bruser was on the prowl feeding in the depts!!!
I’m a black man from az we don’t experience racism like Texas Alabama Georgia and all them down south states we are a state of many types but I love my state if u can’t handle the heat better pack ya bags baby
***** Fishing here in Kansas in some places is bad, especially if you live by the city, lots of spots are taken and the water quality is terrible, the more west you go, the more the water quality increases for the Kansas river. For eater size, it's only a 5 minute drive to get to a lake, so that's a bonus.
catch and release is the best thing you can do to any body of water especially the big ones but there are enough people that dont care and will keep everthing how disgusting
I like how people say " they can grow to be Blank pounds so that is considerd a small one" well tell me when some catches one that beats my RECORD and ill be leave you And just because they can grow that big doesn't mean they all will that is like saying a human can grow to be 7 foot tall so if you are 6'9 you are considerd short
This man may be one of the most stereotypical looking Arizonans ever.
J-Bird Oliver ... apparently it WORKS 🤣
I was thinking the same exact thing lmao
J-Bird Oliver and your one of the most stereotypical racists ever smh
Oregonian raised, been in Arizona 38 years, figure I'm Native now, I resemble that Remark..hahahaha :D
J-Bird Oliver it’s true been here ten years and now I rock the cowboy hat on some days. Lol
This is fantastic - thanks Ed and Arizona Fish and Game.

I've never heard of anyone letting bluegill splash around in the water first.
Ima give it a shot

Was it a state record listed in Oklahoma?
Miss fishing Bartlett lake. They called it Bartlett and Pleasant so I don't know which lake he caught it in, but I miss it there.
He caught the catfish on Bartlett, the interview with the kids was on Lake Pleasant.
What happend with the big fish?
Did you put it back in
Great video. Love u Arizona game and fish dept. Best thing to do on your time off. FISHING.

It says Bartlett lake then it says lake pleasant?
That is awesome! Hopefully this year I can get a nice flat at Bart.
i know its a decade later but did u end up getting that flat lmao
This confirms what I always have said. Big fish, big bait! This is precisely how the next record will be caught.
Super sharing. Entertaining and instructive. Sample should be taken.

Havent seen you fish lately that was huge
Glad his Buisiness is doing well, that's a damn good catch.
I just cought a 89lb flathead at lake pleasant they wouldn't accept the fish for record because I hooked it on the tail lol
Foul hooked flathead that big would be like fighting an Orca whale lol
I bet it took you atleast an hour to get that in it takes me 30 minets to get in a 20 pounder that is hooked it the tail
Roman Kozlovskiy sure you did
Roman Kozlovskiy those tail snags are fun fights tho huh man!?
minutes
That is a big catfish I live in Texas and no joke me and my brother about 8 years ago we caught a yellow cat on trotline that weighed 74 lb it was 4 ft

My grandpa caught the biggest catfish in Illinois and it was 94.7 pounds
Sangchris lake?
the record is 77lbs in il your on crack
great video and congratulations flathead Ed
Caught a 35LB flathead there with 15Lb braid , took 2 minutes haha. Was on the bank of Rattlesnake cove!
I thought live bait was against Arizona law?
Live is OK as long as the bait comes from the lake
+Jerry Vicena nice!! Thanks for the correction!
They prolly only bite when your sleeping because walking around on that boat makes tons of noise
The guy that could have let a legend go for a master angler award but killed it for a record.
I was catching 2 catfish at a time from my boat by myself 3 times in one day that is a monster flat head
Alot bigger flats in other states Oklahoma Kansas and Louisiana. All these states records outweigh this by 25 plus pounds
I recently caught a 40+ lbs flat head at rattle snake cove
Ya right prove it
CHANGED MY PRFILE PIC
AND ON A NOTHER NOTE JUST CAUSE U CANT DONT MEAN I CANT
WE HAVE IT STRINGED UP ON THE DOCK AT RATTLE SNAKE COVE
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NONE SKILLS FRIEND
Ed seems like a good dude. Congrats!

I love it. Fish on sir.
Two pound bait? Jesus!
caught my 30lb flat on a 4lb carp. you'd be surprised what those things will eat.
You think that fish was big come to Kansas and try to break the world record flathead at 124 pounds
Kansas Lunkers one upper
If you're using 4 to 5lb carp That means large Catfish 😁 Keep catching Dem fish Flathead Ed
Lots of silly chatter on here, Eddie. Pay them no mind. Congratulations on catching the Arizona State Record Flathead Catfish!
Great video!
Fire up the fryer!!! Yeah Ed.
Ed your mustash is super epic!
Although im sure 50lb braid is helpful we Ive seen them caught on 10-20lb test mono. I just let them drag the boat.
+monsterman27 20 pound is basically enough for anything if you have your drag set pretty well.
***** It's the same snaggy stuff everywhere on the Kansas River, it's not as fast usually for where I fish, though.
***** Fishing here in Kansas in some places is bad, especially if you live by the city, lots of spots are taken and the water quality is terrible, the more west you go, the more the water quality increases for the Kansas river. I got to this lake if you wanna catch flathead there it’s better if you go up the river where he caught it
That was a huge mustache! CPR unless your really hungry.
Great vid!
CPR- Great 👍👍
Let me guess he let it go back in water. :(
Cool guy. Would love to fish w him.
At 3:48 do not ignore the fact that there is a petrified crocodile head in plain view....
catch and release is the best thing you can do to any body of water especially the big ones but there are enough people that dont care and will keep everthing how disgusting
Blessed by the best I feel that
To bad he couldn't release the record catch alive.

Lovely fish but I'm sure he could of weighed the fish and let it go to for someone else to catch a fish of a life time

LOL
Wayne Edwards yes he is your just a jealous propaganda starting asshole is all
its not a "true record", flatheads can get up to 130lbs almost, that's kind of a small one
It's the Arizona state record.
I like how people say " they can grow to be Blank pounds so that is considerd a small one" well tell me when some catches one that beats my RECORD and ill be leave you
And just because they can grow that big doesn't mean they all will that is like saying a human can grow to be 7 foot tall so if you are 6'9 you are considerd short
iFish what is it with people like you.
