- After assembling the Harbor Freight Hanging Tool Cabinet I was left wondering... was it worth saving a few dollars and purchasing this versus some of the competitors?
Super helpful video! thank you.
Best video on that cabinet
Thank you so much for watching!! Greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for the video, the instructions that came with it are terrible. Appreciate it!
Thanks for watching. I’m glad the video was helpful. Chinese isn’t an easy language to translate from.
Thanks!!!!!!!!
Very helpful
Great video
Outstanding video the supplied instructions were crap!! I appreciate you taking the time to show all the little subtle nuances that the instructions left out.Once again Great 👍 video!!!!
Thank you so much for watching and the kind comment. Both are greatly appreciated.
Great video!! Very well explained.
is the top and the bottom the same? and buying your own hardware an using lockwashers will help in the long run
I didn’t see a difference with top and bottom.
God bless you for taking time making this video. I skipped the instructions that came with it and just watched your video.
I have 10 of these in my shop. It,'s a bit of work to put them together and mount them on the wall. The thing I really like about them is they are narrow and don't stick out very far
They are decent cabinets and like you said the narrow depth is great when you don’t want to lose too much space out into the room.
Thanks for the help! Yeah the instructions aren’t the best and the parts don’t really make sense at first. They went pretty cheap on this one; however, lockers are going for thousands of dollars on craigslist…
I imagine with just a little more instruction one could make these out of sheet metal especially if they had the right tool to cut louvers. I bet there’s a factory in China that pumps these out for our scrap weight
Thanks for watching! I’m sure the materials are not top notch!
The directions that came with this cabinet are bad. Your video made it so much easier to build. Thank you !!
Thanks for watching. I’m glad the video was of help. Have a great day.
are the locks keyed alike?
Yes they are.
Very helpful video. Your clear instructions on how to orient the inside panels with the back panels was most appreciated! One thing I did notice that I think you may have missed. They supplied some washers to place between the door posts and the top and bottom. I don’t think you used them.
Thanks for watching. I may have missed them. Thanks for catching that.
Thank you for posting this video, excellent might I add, very through.
Thanks for watching! I greatly appreciate your time. If you have a chance check out my other videos on my channel. Have a great day.
@@LancoAmish I went to Harbor Freight and brought one home. In the interest of others
I used a 22 mm socket to tighten the nut on the key lock and I used an 8 mm socket attached
to a nut starter to make the assembly a little easier. I hope this helps others. Your video is OUTSTANDING!
@@bobjohnson8206 I used 22mm and 8mm sockets for the same steps just today. Still has the same sizes (for now).
@@LancoAmish Very helpful vid, thank you for making it!
Excellent Thank you
Very helpful, thanks. Harbor Freight Presidents Sale, was 20% off with ITC, total cost w/ tax $64.99 Very cost effective for me. You kept comparing US General to Husky but you never compared the cost. A little DIY saves money by putting in a little work. God bless.
Update... I went back and bought another one. 🤙
Thank you
Thanks for taking the time to do this vid. I just bought one of these today.
I am a mechanic, and I am sure I could figure out how this goes together. But seeing you do it step-by-step I now know what to look out for.
Thanks again!!
wait til you physically attempt it. only go by the instruction book. no videos. then you will say what i said after 2 hrs and my feels like hammered schit. the instructions are more for a portable shower or a monkey cage. and you need to be a halfazz astronaut to do it.
@@willwarro4054 I put mine together the next day. The doors were a bit of a pain, but I quickly found a work-around.
Took me around 30-35 minutes. If I had to do another one, it would be 20 minutes now that I know the process.
Thank you for doing this. You saved the day. We were stuck. God bless you for taking the time.
I just picked this up and I have Seen a lot of how to put it together videos, and by far this is superior to all I have seen before.
Thank you for the instructions very helpful but I was wondering if you put the back on upside down cuz it looks like the holes where upside down. Seems like you want the slotted holes down?
Could be. It looked to me like everything was symmetrical though. If you saw different then I believe you. My eyes are getting worse by the day it seems.
@@LancoAmish still an awesome video I'm glad there's people out there that do this at helps us out a lot
He put the back on correctly. You'll notice the notches for the shelf support are going the same direction as on the sides. The holes are meant for if you want to mount it off the wall and use the peg boards or to hang something inside of the cabinet. The slotted holes aren't meant for mounting the cabinet.
We are getting ready to purchase these. Do we need go put the shelves In? My husband just wants to use Peg board.
Thanks for watching. That’s something you’re going to have to try. The shelves do add rigidity so I’m uncertain.
I want to use this cabinet mounted to the top of the harbor freight Yukon 46 In. 9-Drawer Mobile Storage Cabinet With Solid Wood Top and wonder can it sit on top or use the supplied brackets to mount it to the back somehow? Great assembly video! Thanks
I don't see why you shouldn't be able to mount it to a mobile cabinet. Sounds like a great idea. Good Luck.
Great video! It helped a lot. Thank you for taking the time out to make it! One question. Not sure if this makes a difference or not, but is there any reason why you bolted in (for example) the rightmost center panel in the order of: back panel R, backpanel Center, and then Center panel? I believe you did this for the leftmost center panel in a similar order as well. I thought it would go: back panel R, Center panel, and then backpanel Center. I've seen a few other videos on here bolting it together in this order, so not sure which way it's supposed to be? Again, maybe it doesn't ultimately matter. Thanks again.
If I can recall correctly I followed the written directions and it actually made sense. I don’t remember why now but at the time it did. Thanks for watching.
Would it kill them to add a little handle to each door?
Thanks for watching! The cabinets are definitely built low budget that’s for sure!
so was it worth it?
Thanks for watching. I don’t mind spending time putting things together like this but I’d imagine many wouldn’t.
hey dude get a rubber mallet
Ordered January 4th and it is March 9th and they are sill not in
Geez Loweez.
I paid $39.99 which must have had the original price before the Kung Flu outbreak. Now they sell for $75 which is too much in my opinion. This is not a very strong cabinet as it can barely support its own weight. When hanging be sure to support the bottom edge or it will deflect or sag in the middle. This project will be difficult for some to assemble because the center supports are difficult to align. I suggest paying more for the Husky product.
So....do you think it was worth it?
the instructions are more for a portable shower or a monkey cage. and you need to be a halfazz astronaut to do it.
you should make a tiktok account and post videos
Is that some kind of clock? hahahhah
AUGUST 15th, 2021...
Thanks a bunch those instructions were garbage
Thanks for watching. Hope you have a great evening.
Very awesome video other than the crying about home depot husky. That's like comparing Jordan to Shaq shoes
