    the most important things are the sode , ko uchi and kata guruma, how you can have a complete judo gokyo without Mifune's go to throw and a technique fundamental to Kano's story is beyond me.

    Whoever that uke is, he must be the Kodokan's designated punching bag. The poor guy is the uke in TONS of the Kodokan's nage waza videos!

      Yeah I met the guy once. Nice guy. Still very young so he can take it 😂

    • @diynevala
      @diynevala 3 часа назад

      I can relate to this Uke. He does his role very well. Being able to help Tori with their intensions is a very specific skill, it does not require being tough. It requires good understanding where the technique is going and how to minimize discomfort while not resisting the action itself. I believe I am a good uke, backed by the fact that many people of varying levels of skill prefer to have me as an uke - I will make it easy for them to kuzushi, tsukuri and kake.
      Good uke => tori does not use strength => technique looks clean => uke is not broken down.

    So, if you attack a "single" leg from a gripping position and it lifts off the ground, it looks like you can attack the 2nd leg.

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  9 дней назад +3

      Yeah. There was also no mention of only being allowed to counter with 1 hand. So if someone comes in with an Uchi mata, you can just double leg them on the return?

    • @taltezy2941
      @taltezy2941 9 дней назад +1

      @JudoHighlights2015 I would say Yes. As the attacker leg is up attempting a throw (Uchi mata). Which makes them fair game for a double 🤔?

    Yes, this is a big step in the right direction IMO.
    on a sidenote. i think there needs to be more emphesis on newasa in judo. i see too many competitions of people scoring points on throws where they end loose control of the guy on bottom, and sometimes even winds up underneath the guy they threw. A good throw isnt a good throw if it ends with you loosing position. i see guys all the time trip over the guy they threw and end up on their backs.

  • @Yupppi
    @Yupppi 9 дней назад +1

    I saw this pop up one morning in my feed and my reaction was "I don't understand anything in text but the red and white colors message enough and this feels like fantasy". I was actually watching the montage of lost techniques by Grappler Kingdom and drooling over kata gurumas, te gurumas and sodes with leg grab. Especially the front flip sodes or the cartwheel kata guruma looks so great.
    The only thing I don't like about this is the hands free attacks. I already didn't like scoring attacks where you let go of the grips before ippon. I personally think you should execute techniques from grips. I'm a believer that it does make slightly safer judo without suffering negative effects.

    • @TheNEOverse
      @TheNEOverse 9 дней назад +1

      That's not how its going to work. You cannot just tack folkstyle leg attacks onto Judo and expect good things. A lot of leg grabs don't score because they don't satisfy the ippon conditions. If you hate the modern shido game, you will hate what leg grab judo can look like.
      Jacket wrestling has different needs. The O-uchi to ankle pick is something that will actually get results.

    • @TheNEOverse
      @TheNEOverse 8 дней назад +3

      @@Hatsukoi839 You are aware that its often Judoka who often transition to Sambo because they couldn't quite succeed in elite Judo? And that they have zero issue dominating Sambo?

    If I recall correctly, this was about the same as ijf 2012 to 2016? Leg grab only as a second move in a combo or as a counter. I like this just fine. Had a great uchi mata to o uchi with an outer leg grab. Hope ijf follow suit here but doubt it as it’s too similar to their past rules

    • @matkobarbarich2971
      @matkobarbarich2971 8 дней назад +1

    If I would be IJF, I would ignore these innovations by Japan Federation. Otherwise each Federation will start to make their own rules. If Japanese wish to jeopardize their performance at International level, it is up to them. Leg grads will jeopardize to make athletes to hunch over and being afraid of amplitude throws. There are many other real issues to be addressed, for example diving assessment
