I reacquired my Filipino citizenship when I turned 70. I did it because I wanted to own a property in the Philippines. I feel more comfortable coming back every year to the Philippines.
Thank you for the Info
How come some foreigners can buy land in the Philippines.
I need that .. how to apply..?
How can I do this? I never thought how important it is until I came back last year. I want to retire back to the Philippines.
you don`t need Filipino citizenship to acquire property.
Another great topic! Salamat Po!!!
Fantastic video.....thank you...and keep rockin!
I love this video. Great information. Thanks so much.
This was how i got my philippine citizenship. Was so easy since only needed to show report of birth.
This is great info, my wife and I just migrated to the US, we should document our expereince too with this
THANK YOU po sa lahat ng Info its helped me much
Napakalinaw, salamat.
I didn’t know that my son is automatic dual citizen until I watched your video. I was about to apply dual citizenship for my son, your video gave me added information that I wasn’t aware of. Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
I’m glad you can read. I can too.
Salamat po sa info. God bless you
That’s awesome information thank you
Very helpful thanks
Thank. You. So. Much. Big. Help. Godbless
Thanks for sharing ma’am
Thanks for the info
I was born of Filipina mother and a US citizen father in the US. I later did a delayed registration of birth through PSA and got my US birth certificate printed on PSA paper - I then was able to apply for a Philippine passport and driver's license. I have zero restrictions coming in and out of both countries. I also never applied for dual citizenship because I was born a filipino and american at the same time. I never lost my citizenship on both sides since no oath taking was done on either side.
Hello can I ask how you got it done ?
Did you issue your late registration of birth while you were still here in the Philippines?
@@janusaquino8523 Yes, I did it while I was in the Philippines while my over stay fees were piling up. When it was all said and done, all fees were dropped. Here's a link to get you started.

I am a proud dual citizen Filipino American
You should've talk about how to acquire and apply for Dual Citizenship for those who were born before 1973. Both of my parents were born in the Philippines and my father came to the US by way of joining the US military. What steps do I need to do in-order for me to acquire Dual Citizenship?
Thanks you po sa info
There's a tax exemption law stipulation that if you meet the "Physical presence test"; you are outside the country for 330 full days during any period of 12 consecutive months including some part of the year at issue. The 330 qualifying days do not have to be consecutive, you are exempt from taxes.
Does "exempt" in your last sentence mean no US Federal income tax is due?
Where we acquired the dual citizenship here in the US and what documents we bring because I am a naturalized US citizen. Thank you.
me and my friend who is an american citizen, are planning to set up a business in the US. I am holding a B1/B2 visa. I know i am not allowed to engage business in the US whether paid or not. My question, what are the remedies or requirements needed to allow me to do business there? Thank you for your answer.
How to apply for a permanent residency to the Philippines for a foreigner with a filipina wife?
Thank you po
Hi Ms Jocelyn and to all that could possibly help me here. How about cases like mine po, I was adopted by a US citizen, I received financial support from US veteran and US SSS from my stepdad's pension and was cut when I turned 21, and my stepdad sadly passed last 2016, is there any chance that I can apply for dual citizenship? I never been to US yet.
Hi, I am a former Filipino Citizen & I just got my US Citizenship last August 1 & I want to apply for dual citizen what do I need to do? Please advise me so I can get it before I go back home to visit my family next year. Thank you in advance.
Jocelyn, my 94 y o mother is demented, US naturalized, not dual, one year overstaying since March 2023. Total 19 months overstaying. To bring her back to US is very hard for her health conditions. Your legal advice is much appreciated.
Hi. She needs to go to a Bureau of Immigration office to pay her overstay fees. Because of her condition, she will need a companion. If you want her to return to the US, she needs ECC (exit clearance) and will need someone to accompany her during the flight. IMO, you need to discuss with family members where it's best for her to stay - PH or US. Good luck.
The recipe is $$$$
Thank you po!
Awesome videos! Question: If both my Filipino parents were born in the US, as I am, can I still get dual citizenship? I was born after 1973, if that matters.
Philippines can offer no visa required for an AMERICAN citizens entering as visiting travel or a tourist only.up to 6 months period.

Hi mam, I am confused about Philippines consulate because I file my son a report of birth march 13 then approved march 20 then I recieved a return enveloped my son paper was his middle name here in USA was together his name and my middle name put because when they file I follow my us certificate if my son and now they put my son Russell middle name in one together his name Cameron Russell they put together and they put my son middle my maiden surname and my big concern is if I apply his Philippines passport for dual I want same his us passport that us way Cameron Russell last name of my husband I want same way in Philippines passport so that it match both his passport
What if a Filipina married an American and became naturalized in the USA and had children in America. Then a few years later she obtained dual citizenship. Can her American born children become dual citizens since she is now a dual citizen? Would love to know if this is possible.
Regarding taxation of income earned in the Philippines by a dual citizen of the US & Philippines, if that is the only income source taxable & it is also taxable in the US, isn't that double taxation of income earned in the Philippines? If a company is located in the Philippines & its products are brought to the US for sale & sales happened in the US, is that considered income earned in the Philippines because that is the location of distributor? or is it only income in the US not in the Philippines because seller dual citizen did sale in the US?
I had acquired my dual citizenship last March 12 2023 will I still be charge of overstaying and pay a fee when I go back to the USA after 3 years
Hello I just want to understand clearly. My questions is would I be able to claim automatic dual citizenship? I was born in the Philippines 1975 with a Philippine Citizen Mother but I was not sure that my mother reported my birth to immigration but I am able to obtain a record and copy of my birth certificate from NSO however before I turn 18 my American Father hired a lawyer for me to travel to United State with American Passport.
Is this means that my father reported my birth as American Citizen?
Would I be qualified to claim automatic dual citizenship in my case? To claim my automatic dual citizenship what documents should I show to get my Philippine Passport? I obtain as mention above that I have my birth certificate copy. Please reply thank you 🙏
I was born before 1972. Can I apply online? Or must I go to a Philippines consulate to apply for dual citizenship?
I have a question, but if you're not a lawyer, i would prefer advice from one. Please recommend one.
American father, mother born in the Philippines. I was born in the USA and only have a US passport. I do not know if my mother aquired US citizenship before or after I was born. Do i have a chance at getting filipino citizenship?
Grandpa was born in Calgary phillipines. Moved to the United States at the age of 2.
My mom was born in the United States in 1971, and my grandpa was in the United States. How ever he never got US citizenship. Can my mom still acquire citizenship?
your topic regarding paying tax when you are a dual citizen earning in the Philippines, did you say you have to pay tax as well even if you are already paying tax in the Philippines?
I was born and raised in the Philippines. My birth mother and father were both Filipinos. I lived there for 6 years and was then adopted by an American military family. I am currently a US citizen. I used to be a dual citizen, but I lost my dual citizen passport. Am I still considered a dual citizen, or do I have to reapply for it? I still have my birth certificate from the Philippines.
Question, My 3 natural born Filipino kids converted to US citizen while they were minor when I became naturalized US citizen. Are they considered dual citizen?
How do I claim my PH citizenship? Born in ‘75 and my parents became naturalized US citizens in ‘81.
Hi! Just want to ask a question about my situation , I’am a filipino-american , born in 2001 , I was born here in the Philippines and i was naturalized as US citizen (consular birth abroad) in 2001 *same year i was born* . I only have a US passport and not a Philippine passport , should I apply dual citizenship documents or just get a Philippine passport and I should be good to pass immigration to travel wherever? Hope u find this comment 🙏
How Can I apply for dual citizen? I was born in Philippines. Now I'm a US citizen. I kinda need help I'm not sure what to do
Is this offer between American and Filipino only. Can this be applied to other foreign countrie lije Canada, Uk and etc.
Thanks for this, i want to become dual
What if you were born of both Filipino mother and father in the Philippines; but left the Philippines at 6 years old. Then, I became a naturalized US citizen at 24 years old. I got married at the age of 31 with a US citizen spouse. Am I able to obtain a DUAL citizenship now at the age of 60+ born before 1973. And, my 3 college-age children, can they also apply for DUAL citizenship although they were born in the USA? Thanks in advance for your reply!
I'm a naturalized US citizen with natural born child. Us parents did not report the birth of the child to any consular office or wherever. We simply applied for dual citizenships and our child was included in the application. The Philippine consular delegate traveled to our state during a Fil-Am event where we received our dual citizenship papers.
Did you mean US born child? What documents did you have for the child to obtain a Philippine passport if you wanted to?
@@ropineapplehead2198 Our US born child and us parents were given documents by the Philippine embassy here for dual citizenships. No Philippine passport needed . We use our US passports for travel and show those documents at immigration upon arrival.
@@greentree55 thanks for the clarification! Your information is very useful to many seeking assistance!

are you saying that you have a child born in the Philippines and you're a US citizen
and you went to the Philippine Embassy in the States to apply for dual citizenship. for your child.

Hello, i just want to ask, my partner was born in Germany when he was a baby his parents decided to stay here in the Philippines, and i found out that he has no Dual citizenship.
good day, i've been following all your video and it's so helpful. may i know what to do, because my mother has a dual citizenship. right now she's here in the philippines and been staying here for almost 6 month, and been planning to go back to US by nov. or december, our concern is that what documents do she need to present at the immigration because of her old age she cannot recall where she put her cert. or maybe she lost it, please help us to know what documents is needed to present at the immigration on her departure going back to the US. thank you very much...
If she has valid passport, 1 US and 1 Philippines, those are all that she need. If she has none of the two (especially Philippine passport), then she needs to get one. If she has neither the dual citizenship and Philippine passport, then ask at least a copy of the dual citizenship certificate in Philippine Bureau of Immigration in Manila. Do it as soon as possible!
Do you have a video of automatic dual citizenship between Canada and Philippines ?
Hi ma'am i have a question i have a son. born in Philippines his father is an amerikan us citizen im planning my son to have a US citizenship to his father what should my next to do. Does my child automatically be citizen when his father file him citizinship in Philippine embassy does my son anytime can go enter the US at the age of 18. Please answer me madam. I want my son be amerikan citizen while his father is still alive. And my son can go at anytime he want to go there in the US when he have a amerikan citizen.
What are the requirements?
As an American, whose mother was Filipino (deceased), I fall under the rules "before" January 17, 1973. At the age of 61, I am not eligible to acquire Philippine Citizenship, because I did not elect the citizenship at the age of majority (18) or within three years. The problem with this today is that due to the use of the Internet, we can find all the information we need on Philippine citizenship, but back in 1979 - 1982 (I turned 18 with 3 years after), there was no internet....no information readily available. As a result many people of partial Philippine ancestry are excluded from Citizenship.
The only question I have for the future, do you think they will retroactively change that policy for people who fall under rules "before" January 17, 1973? It appears that today, it is much easier for all other categories of mixed ancestry Filipinos to acquire Philippine Citizenship (everyone after January 17, 1973)
Hi. Unfortunately, there's no move from Congress to make the law retroactive (to children born before Jan 1973). It's not their priority. As an alternative, you can inquire from a PH embassy/ consulate if you are eligible for the 13G visa (permanent residence), if you are interested in living/ retiring in PH.
@@kitty_s23456. Can a US citizen who applied and acquired a permanent visa buy a Philippine property legally?
@@marlenerodulfa4397 if the US citizen is a former Filipino (natural born Filipino), then YES he/she can buy/ inherit land, but size of land is subject to limits. If US citizen since birth (like the OP), or US citizen with no Filipino parent, then no. He/ she cannot buy land. The person must be a former Filipino citizen to be qualified to buy/ own/ inherit land. There are certain exceptions but too long to type. A foreigner can buy/ own condo units.
Same here, born in Angeles City 1972
I'm in the same situation as you are (born in 1968 in Clark AB) to a filipina and american. We really should be allowed dual citizenship. I want to retire there but I'm considered a foreigner and have to sign up for the SRRV.

A disadvantage for a dual citizen individual, for example - a U.S. & Filipino dual citizen, you would not be 'eligible' to work for a (U.S.) government, a government contractor or any other entity that requires you to have a 'top secret' clearance as a job/work, which is usually a high-paying job, however there are exceptions.
Wala kami paki lol
@@abrakadabra1579 hahaha
It’s good to note that not all US gov’t positions require a TS clearance.
@abra
That's not a disadvantage. You can earn more working for a private company and less restrictions on where you can travel.

Very easy only the process
Hello. My gf was a Philippines citizen and at that time she bought some land there. She is currently an U.S. citizen only. Is she still allowed to OWN the land she bought there ?
Well, I just got offloaded in the the airplane. I am about to go to the US. I only present my US passport. Then they ask for my Philippine passport but I wasn't able to present it. So they suggested me to process an ECC. But I was born here in the Philippines. My mother is a Filipino. It's just that I didn't presented a Philippine passport that's why they ask me for an Exit Emigration Clearance.
Hi. You are considered as a foreign national simce you are carrying a US passport. As a foreigner, if you stayed more than 6 months in PH, you must get ab exit clearance prior to ypur flight. Yoy may be half-Filipino (since your mom was a PH citizen) but it doesn't automatucally mean that you're a Filipino or dual citizen. It also doesn't exempt you from the exit clearance.

Yes. If you were dual during her birth, then she's also dual (was born dual). However, you'll have to file a Report of Birth at the PH embassy or consulate which covers the area/ state where the chuld was born, so that she can be recognized as a PH citizen and have a PSA-issued birth cert (will be needed in case she applies for a PH passport or if she studies in PH).
