      The ministers are spineless and more bothered about their £30k extra payments on top of the MPs salary of £92k, so will agree to anything that freebies Starmer or Rachel thieves from accounts say.

      I agree with you about the cowards. Why should it be a "very brave contribution" to "come to this chamber and tell the truth" - as David Mundell said? An MP's duty is to come to the chamber to represent the people who elected him/her. "Defending the government at all costs", shouldn't be the priority.

    • @WelshEnZo
      @WelshEnZo 11 дней назад +6

      @@pennylando3145 Totally agree, although it would be tough going against the party you represent, but the people who put them there to represent us DESERVE and DEMAND our MP do that. Telling the truth is the basic expectation. Time and time again career politicians that couldn’t give a ……. About the common folk, the everyday 9-5 low paid workers, farmers etc. No wonder less than 60% of people voted in the GE.

      @@joycegibbs5267 I can answer this! MP's of Farming Constituency will have a very difficult time trying to support a policy that might well disagree with his - or her - party policy or obligations to support local communities and that especially true of Rural Constituencies! I can only sympathise with this MP of Penrith and the Solway area. And since I had an Uncle who was involved in farming in Dorset. I can only agree with the young fellow who has been put into a very difficult place! And has chosen to support his constituency rather than to uphold unwise policies especially tax hikes of Family Farms.
      Rachel Reeves suggestion has caused uproar that could have been avoided. And although I don't care much about Jeremy Clarkson or one or two others. The proposal unfortunately is a two edged blade. It may deal with tax evaders like Clarkson and those one or two others! But unfortunately it hurts other Family Farms indiscriminately and it was THAT the Liberal Democrats were also warning of as well!
      I also had some family on my late Father's side of the family who married into Farming tradition ! My Father's late sister. Married Gordon Sharman, who would be my Uncle in Dorset. For 40 years after that, he was a tennant farmer but he was passionate about Farming - it was indeed - his life! These proposals by this government unfortunately, have come about in largely unwelcome! So I sympathise with the Penrith and Solway MP in this instance.
      I have said that his opposition to it, has been a bit of a surprise to me! But irrespective of this. My sympathy remains in place.

    Interesting how the few Labour liars there kept their eyes down inspecting their shoes. I've written to my MP (Louise Jones) asking if, given that her constituency of NE Derbyshire also has many farms, she'll be following in his footsteps. I think I know the answer!
