- Prime Video officially cancels The Peripheral season 2 just six months after initially picking up the sci-fi show for more due to the recent strikes.
Despite garnering strong reviews in its debut outing, Prime Video has cancelled The Peripheral season 2. Loosely based on William Gibson's novel of the same name, the sci-fi show centered on a young woman presented with a seemingly new form of virtual reality, only to learn of its dangerous ties to reality and putting her and her family in danger.

I am devastated! This was a great show, great cast, etc. We were promised a second season and have been robbed!
It had SO much potential, story and universe building set up for it to go quite the distance too. This is ridiculous
I'm actually seriously p1$$ed off. I invested 8 hours of my life on this show (I was riding an indoor bike at the same time 😁...but still)
I even overlooked T'nia Millers muffled speech (I am a Brit and everytime she spoke I couldn't understand her I had to continually rewind) I invested in the characters......and for what!!???
I just thought to myself oh the second season must be due out now and then found out about this b s.

They did this with WestWorld without warning, and raised with wolves...in fact all the series I start showing an interest in. I'm waiting for them to not give the final stranger things season next!!
Think I will just stick to watching RUclips, this is happening with so many series on Netflix and Amazon.
Totally. I had never seen anything like it. It's a shame people in these unions get greedy when they should count their blessings and get on with their damn jobs!
This show was way underrated.
Acting was fantastic. Storyline was cerebral. Sci-fi felt genuine and fresh.
I was really looking forward to seeing where this was going. Unfortunately, most audiences are just braindead, and their lack of interest killed this show's opportunity.
This writer's strike is hopefully going to take down some other high profile garbage shows along the way at least. LOTR comes to mind. Amazon should have shut that one down instead.

I'm so sick of the frequency of new shows getting cancelled after 1-2 seasons. For this same reason, friends of mine refuse to even try any new shows until there's at least 3 or more seasons out.
I don't even have the words for how amazing The Peripheral was. I can't think of another show that hooked me so fast and so hard, had me on the edge of suspense/anticipation almost every moment, all while continuing to build interest in more characters in the mix.
I'm thankful I got to watch it, but sad we won't get to see more, and that I won't get to have discussions about it with my friends.

- Breaking bad ( 5 seasons + 1 movie + prequel serie )

I watched the whole season in 2 days. Immediately googled season 2 after I finished. And was extremely upset it’s canceled because of all the Hollywood actor protests and will not be renewed. Also for anyone who didn’t know, it was produced by the same people who direct WestWorld tv show which is why they kinda seem similar.
Why was this show cancelled and others with less positive reviews renewed?

I'm actually thinking AI actors wouldn't be a bad thing. At least I would get some closure on the programmes I like as opposed to continually wasting hours of my life on shows that have abrupt endings. Sick of investing my time on series now. Imagine if someone bought a book and the last chapters were ripped out!! Sick of it.
Why are we canceling tv shows these days! Chances are if streaming isn’t high it will be once seasons accumulate and it’s discovered! This show wasn’t even promoted or advertised. Hoping it gets saved by another streaming service
Should just forget the horrible Ring of Power and dump the money into multiple seasons of the Peripheral. Way better show. Thanks Amzon.

This was a wonderful program. As a long time aficionado of all things SF and Gibson in particular I find the cancellation disappointing. I hope that fans can resurrect this like they did for the Expanse. Maybe Netflix would be game?

Another good show bites the dust. I am so fed-up with having my expectations being subverted. It seems best to stick to movies. 2 hours and you're good to go, be it crappy or not. These steaming services should have a contract with the consumers eg: "We promise to have 3 seasons once season 1 reaches x number of households." I definitely have to break the habit I got from covid-19 lockdowns; just stop watching TV.

Season 2 can still happen. Especially without the excuse now that the strike is over.
So they’re blaming writers and actors who wanna get paid for their art, for the cancellation of a fabulous show! And you keep asking people why they don’t want to continue on with Amazon prime with Disney+ with HBO, yet you keep going with these wonderful storylines, and then you cut it off?
This show was way too awesome to cancel, they either fix this or give it to netflix to repair.
I really dont know why i bother with any streaming service, they just cancel their best shows, this, shadow and bone, its like why bother getting invested in anything on these fly by night streaming tv channels?

What's the point of starting anything from the start, you might as well just wait and see, all these cancellations, the consumer is eventually just going to find something somewhere else. But as per usual the long game isn't seen as short term gain, profit and protectionism serves the day.

Maybe if they had advertised it more ppl would have watched it??? I had to find out about this show from a random thread somewhere months after it came out, even tho this is my exact style. Audiences love this kind of show and Chloe Grace so i guarantee the viewership wouldve been better if they'd advertised it.

NBC cancelled debris to make room for labrea (which was a steaming pile) I never watched one second of that garbage. Same for Fallout. Not one second.
They need to pull a Firefly/Serenity and finish the story with an epic movie.

Cancelling The Night Sky boiled my piss as I thought it was fantastic, with good acting, characters that you grew to like and a cracking story line. The peripheral was the entire opposite and the straw that broke the camels back. A load of convoluted tripe and trying too hard to be clever. The bits they threw away after a circumcission would have written a better plot!

This company, they are still continues to show this series , this is unfinished story and they steals your time and money, somehow does not pay the writer either. And if you still continue your subscription, you are the culprit here, not Amazon.
I believe there is certainly more why they are cancelled. I know the season 2 will be come out when the time is ready.

I was interested in this show since I first seen the trailer. Planed to watch it as soon as I got Prime Video back, The Boys and such. I just started subscribing again and just watched the first episode, I really like it so far. I will tell all my friends they need to watch it. Hopefully they will bring it back.
This was a decent show, with good action sequences. The story is kinda easy to follow, until the last episode where the cliffhanger was sorta confusing. All the characters are good, especially the main ones.

Cancel is a mistake. For me, it was a great show , but still, they can work out and make season 2. Good luck, people, writers, directors, and actors.
Loved the book, but the story got butchered for the series. I am not particularly surprised this happened.
