What are your thoughts on this show?
How did the future ppl make first contact with the past ppl? How did they get the headset into the past in the first place?
@@srhatfieldIn the book the past is actually a computer simulation like the Matrix. And the future people are hacking into the server running it just for their amusement like a game. But since the simulation is powerful enough to create fully intelligent people, the past simulation-people's intellect can interface with the 'real' future people's technology, the Peripherals, through some kind of hacking of the past program the server's running.
It's not really time travel, closer to the Matrix.
ridiculously convoluted to the point where nothing meant anything
Loved this series. Went wildly off the book.
Isn't that part of the experience though?
@@ScreenRant It would have been part of the experience if they didn't inexplicably cancel the series on a cliffhanger. Now we can't even read the book to find out what was gonna happen.
This video is quite well done. Good explanation of things I did catch, and lots of things I didn’t.
One of my most favorite shirts I have is a silhouette of the best state ever without question and says:
“Most likely to secede”
When I first got it I was so excited and my wife says but they misspelled it!
“No, no my love. They most certainly did not”!!!!
I love this show and I am devastated that they promised a Season 2 and then went back and cancelled.
I love how you doubled down and mispronounced Cavendish not once but twice. Good show!
And Gros Michel, too
And bemusement is very different from amusement. And images are saved for posterity not prosperity.
Is this a feature not a bug?
Aelita made the white 3D printed items. She wants the world to go back to a "simpler time". That's why nothing's smoothed over.
I enjoyed it. Looking forward to S2
I love this show and everything done by William Gibson. I was delighted to hear that Apple + is filming "Neuromancer" for TV. The terms are consistent throughout. The Peripheral and Agency are my favs. Has anyone noticed that the co-produced show written by Chinese writer, Liu Cixin (The three Body Problem) uses the terms and some of from Gibson's works? They don't say so but...
great take, fun, loving the show and glad getting channel attention. The next one's in your ear....and where's Aelita...a battle angel?
The pins holding robot Flynne's hair are similar to the VR headset used to get to the future.
The Peripheral is just like Tenet. It’s entertaining but confusing. I’m glad this video explains it better. I’m now less confused. 😵💫
The Paisley pattern isn't just about chaos since fractals are actually mathematical geometry, it's probably also a tribute to Gibson's absolute obsession with anything fractal.
Also, Gibson keeps his worlds close enough so that tech can be used to communicate. Let's face it, physical time travel, like "back to the Future" makes no sense. But this we can go with. ;)
I missed a cohesive sensical story
Ironically, amusement seemed to be the more appropriate word. Colour me bemused.
My definition of "completely overgrown with green" must be way, way different than SR's because I just don't see it. Yes, there's more greenery but it's not "completely overgrown" with green.
I always assumed "the peripheral" referred to the thing that they had to use to get there. the hardware.
Ummm..."how" did voyeurism lead to Conner's loss of limbs?
I'm most sad about having to wait for Season 2...
One more more thing about bees. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of different bee species in North America. All are pollinators, and none make honey. The only bees that make honey are well honey bees which have been introduced and non native to North America. And unfortunately they compete and essentially help destroy the native species.
she proper fit slim petite beautiful

@@turdburglar2091 WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND YOU SIMPLE?
First haha
How are these things things people would miss? This is just a summary of the show with comments about people's wardrobes and a few obligatory boring memes
Another wild women of amazon kingdom but this one can kick a man ball in multiple angle.
I missed more than 20. I missed all of them. I can't stand her and her Chicken Cutlet morals.
One other thing - that Inspector was actually a man.
A woman, played by a woman.
@@MrMpharrison That ain't no woman. That's a man, man!
Alexandra Billings a transgender woman.
Spoilers:
Canon. The character is transgender in the book. Flynne figures out that Griff, an British man assisting her in her time, is Lowbeer in future timeline. But not exactly the same due to divergence of the stub's timeline from contact. Lowbeer gets Griff to assist Flynne by contacting themselves.
