Maybe Front Man enters the games purely because Gi-Hun expressed sincere emotionality at wanting to meet him. It’s simple, but works. Imagine how long it has been since anyone questioned Front Man’s background and motives, and also lived. Reason 2-If Front Man plays, too, then it provides more of a show to the VIPs. I imagine that decades of tournaments can get boring, and the VIPs have ever waning attention spans. Reason 3-It’s obvious after his wife and child died, Front Man has been living a lonely existence. He isn’t so cold as to kill his brother, but he will protect and continue the games by keeping tabs on the cop and use others to deceive him. It could be, just like Oh IL-nam, that Front Man finds a casual kinship with Gi-hun. At the very least, he must be intrigued by Gi-hun’s philosophies and feels drawn to his boldness.
