The pvc vent line on the valve cover serves as an intake line when the engine is near or at idle. Having that routed into the valley cover pcv creates a really strong vacuum. The only way to get around this is to have a filtered breather cap so there can be air intake into the crankcase(with your current setup). Try it out, when its running take your hand and put it over the oil fill hole. There will be a really strong vacuum.
I just watched your video on the intake install and what I love most about your video.....is that you respond to almost all of the comments asking questions. That is a rarity and I fully appreciate your willingness to help. Thank you. Subscribed.
MY FAVORITE VIDEO SO FAR!!! Super awesome Chris!!! 😎 Dang that C5 sounds awesome even not being tuned. But when it is... OH MAN!!! 😃 Seen every video you have ever made and I ask ONE favor... give me a cold start when you get that tuned. 😉 It’s going to sound INSANE!!! 🤪
I just purchased that intake and I wanted to know did you use your stock fuel rails what year Corvette is that I know it’s a C-5 LS six correct also do you have a part number for the fuel injectors you are running Also the intake had some boats that had nuts on them looking like it was holding it together where the mounting holes are are these the boat to use to mount it to the engine
Good job! I always like your videos because you spell it out so easy for people like me to do ours! PS. I loved the flared rear quarter panels I will be doing that & maybe put an offer out for your LS6 intake manifold for my "99" C-5
Installing my Fast 92 intake now on my 2000, My question is HOW did you torque the rear manifold bolts to spec? I can even get a socket wrench on there, non the less a torque wrench. Please give guidance! Lol 😂
Hi, nice video. Curious on how you connect the 1/16” HVAC vacuum tube on the rear of the FAST. The port seems to be too far from the tube. Did you extend the tube?
Hi, nice video. Wondering if you still have your 92MM FAST intake since you installed the LSA blower. I’m looking to buy a used one. Let me know, thanks
Great video, few questions, What all does it take to convert over to this? I saw where you put a new ls2 throttle body on, so im guessing the ls1 won't fit. I need to do a catch can and if I was to do this mod I would go ahead and add that into the mix since I will already be in there. After this mod does it require a tune?
While you have the valley pan exposed, bolts off, and everything else out of the way, maybe should inspect / replace those 2 knock sensors. They sit kinda deep in cups that like to fill up with dirt and water. Then when reinstaling put a thin circle of high temp sealent under those rubber caps. Also, GM makes foam insulators that block the recess between the intake and the valley pan front and rear. I've worked on several LS and LM7 and I put in double insulators front and back and never ever blast that front recess opening with a pressure washer or garden hose.
did your car come w/ that LS6 intake and if so does it bolt right up w/o any mods to anything for a perfect fit.....thanks I have a 98 i plan on doing a few mods' Going to get the courage to pull my intake manifold if i can't change oil sending unit w/o removing it
Because you have to use a silver blade LS2 throttle body on C5 application. Gold blade throttle bodies open in the opposite direction and have tuning issues.
What made you decide to go with the 92mm instead of the 102mm? Just curious as i am about to do the same mod and im trying to decide on which size to go with.
@@mycorvettelife are your motor mounts stock or is it because you have bigger mounts than stock? I know you have different heads as well, so wasnt sure if that is the general rule or if it was just the case in your setup? Thanks in advance for your help. Your videos are great. I especially like it when you have trouble with things, installation or fitment. It lets me known I'm not the only one that has trouble with thing when doing my own work. But you handle it much better than myself lol.
Ok thanks. I current have a BBK 80mm throttle body on my LS6 manifold. Would I also need to upgrade the BBK throttle body if I switch to the FAST 92mm manifold?
Hii Chris. I have a facebook site in Denmark " Corvette C5 Danmark" I share your vidoes there so people in Denmark can learn how to do. Thank you four all your videos i think you are the bedst.
Very interesting video, Chris! I have a C5 Engine running in my 00 Formula Clone with DBW TB from BBK and C5 TAC Module, as well to keep the car perfectly running. Since I've heard You're doing a FAST 92 swap including a 90mm LS2 DBW TB I'm interested on this project. I hope You get it running without any issues with the TAC Module because I've read some horrible stories that the LS2 TB does not fit the LS1 DBW specs in the TAC Module. The adaptors for the LS2 DBW TB is obvious and I really hope You got luck, so I can plan a similar project on my car. Let us know what tuning has to be done in the PCM, please. I really appreciate Your work and enthusiasm. Regards from germany
@@mycorvettelife im performing the same upgrade with the MSD ATOMIC AIRFORCE INTAKE, but in the video you said the TB was an " LS2 STYLE " or was it actually an LS2 90mm TB if not what is the part number for the TB and also the adapter cable conversion for the ls2 to ls1 conversion.
Chris, nicely done video. I’m about to do a FAST 92 intake on my car - just to be clear. When you updated your injectors, looks like you got the same heigh injectors (but with different electrical connector) and your stock fuel rail fit over the FAST intake? That is, no need to get the $200 FAST billet fuel rail kit? Thanks!
You can reuse the stock fuel rail. Yes, the injectors have the newer style harness plugs. I recommend requiring your harness with the newer style plugs. I chose to use adapters and they ended up causing issues.
Hi Chris thanks for this great video. I have a stock 99 c5 and if I want to install this fast 92mm intake manifold what parts I would needed? So I can follow this video after . Do you have a list and links of those parts? Thank you in advance and I know you are busy and I am kind of hesitate to ask this long question. Your videos motivated me to buy my c5 a year ago :)
@@mycorvettelife Thanks Chris for the reply :) my main motive is to just increase some horse power but budget is around $1500. Can you suggest what would be best way in my case?
The idiots in California were not going to give me a smog certificate cuzz they said my C6 had modified exhaust...it’s factory dual mode...right on the original window sticker I showed them...after a couple calls to the Chevy dealer they finally relented...and this state wonders why ppl register their vehicles out of state...SMMFH

Good thing I have a huge surplus of those.
This is a huge help. Best video I've seen on an intake swap. I will be swapping my 2004 GTO intake to a FAST 92mm intake.
I think this is one of your best videos. Very informative!

What are you doing with the LS6 intake and throttle body?
I would be interested if it fits a stock C5 and offers some increased performance?
What TB is that? OEM GM or aftermarket? Was the car throwing Reduced Power Mode? Im trying to get an LS2 TB sorted on my C5 and no luck.
Worth replacing injectors as well? I have about 62xxx mi on my 03 Z06

Can you post the manufacturer and part number for the fuel injector adapter? Thanks!
How much HP will this add, is it worth the 1K price tag?
Intake/TB/injectors are worth about 30rwhp. Wether that is worth it is up to you.

MAP sensor

New to the channel and really enjoying the content. Your vids are top notch. Question.. Is that a Nick William LS2 102MM TB?
No. LS2.
why did you go with the fast intake over the MSD airforce
How could I tell if my C5 has a stock manifold?

When you changed out the fuel injectors and started it, did it smell like it was super rich?
Could t really smell a difference, but it didn’t run well.
How much, if any, did it lean out your tune?
A lot. It needs to be retuned.
What throttle body ?
Aloha Chris, do you need to drain the coolant to remove the intake manifold?
