Working Fire, Bishop Hill Apts. Upper Darby PA w/rescues on aerials

Companies were dispatched with numerous calls for a building fire, reported on the top floor. Fireboard was receiving numerous calls of people hanging from balconies. First in Eng-74 arrived reporting light smoke showing with people on the balconies. They led off w/ an 1"3/4 handling. Squad-3 Dropped a 5" supply to Eng-74. 1st and 2nd in truck companies, Ladder-20 & Truck-37, along with other companies, began primary and secondary searches as crews from Squad-26 and other companies assisted Ladder-20 in bringing occupants down the aerial. Crews found a kitchen fire on the top floor, apparently self extinguished. UDPD assisted in evacuating numerous occupants. Additional residents were sheltered in place. The fire was quickly brought under control. Companies remained on scene, performing overhaul and wrapping up supply lines, etc. No injuries were reported.
