They are releasing the TV cut because that’s probably all they have and to remaster and re-edit to release it for free would be really silly. Also, the concept of serious fans who view it as a sport rather than a TV oddity being a large enough group to matter financially is a bit new. They are slow to catch up but they are getting there I think.
