  • “PR or ER 💪” Yeah, not the approach Kofuzi is taking for the 2022 NYC Marathon. The forecast is rough (mid 70's) and he’s making some adjustments and sharing some advice. I’ll have much more from the interview (very enlightening) in the weeks ahead but I’ve got to get to bed early! Good luck fellow runners! I look forward to reading your race predictions!

    Ooh felt honoured to have you read out my comment 😊😊 I actually ended up running with my husband on Sunday. He struggled but he said I helped him to push through the pain when it got tough. We finished in 4:57 so I stuck to my plan, ran easy and had fun. What a day!!

    I ran a half back in July, and it was brutal due to the scorching heat (I think temp was close to 40 degree Celsius). I ended up with a personal worst (if there is such a thing) 😂 but still thoroughly enjoyed the race. Like you said in your previous video, there is no shame in not having a PR. Look forward to your post race video!

      A half marathon in July sounds VERY TOUGH especially because you're pushing yourself much harder than you would during a full marathon. Definitely not PR conditions!

    Unbelievable run, for the first 1:35:00 I had a RUclips clip of music from The Gaurdians of the Galaxy Vol 1 & 2 soundtracks playing - incredible mellow, consistent rhythm. Then listened to some Christian sermons for the next 75 minutes. Finally, I had three Zach Williams songs, a Christian artist, playing me through the end. Big Tent Revival, Song of Deliverance, Rescue Story ... Bangerz!! Inspirational Bangerz!! Jesus and the Holy Spirit took me on a ride the last three kms ... 5:44, 5:43, 5:43 were my last three splits! I felt like a kid on air, it was amazing!
    Praying for you tomorrow, have a wonderful day and wonderful run on Sunday. Get your rest tonight and enjoy the ride! 😃👍

      @justanoldfashionedrunner605 Год назад

      @@KoriRuns i want to add some more.
      Firstly it helps to put the marathon in the right place. It is a pretty long distance to run, it might hurt quite a bit, but at the end of the day it is nothing more than a 26.2 mile long run.
      Secondly you have done it before. You know you can do it, you know you are not the fastest runner, but you got more than enough in you to make it to the finish line.
      ....that leads to point 3. At some point in your running life, you need to trust yourself. Free yourself from expectation, from hope, from doubt and from fear.........
      for example.....map out a course with some aid station options along the way, do your usual marathon preparation over the winter, wait for a nice day in April or May......and then go out there and you your one man show in a DIY NYC of your own....enjoy a day to run/walk across New York and do your own version of the marathon
      enjoy this experience to be able to run a marathon whenever to wish

    I'd say go for 4:55 but slow down before the ER comes closer, you are talking so little differences in relation to the overall time that I think it's worth going for the "magic" of sub 5. And if you really want a PR, registration for Berlin 2023 is still open.
