    I once worked for an AD who had a soft but clear voice, even though ADs were usually known for being loud and barking orders.
    Someone once asked him how he managed to be great at his job while being soft spoken.
    “It’s simple. If I have to raise my voice and scream at you to simply get my point across, you shouldn’t be working here.”

    You made me very emotional when you said that I shouldn't get rid of my voice. I'm very soft-spoken and to be honest, struggling with the consequences. I'm bilingual and surpassingly speaking in the first language is ok, but second language - I'm very quiet. thank you for your videos!

      YES!! I can sing better in Spanish and in English it’s like I get more nasally and quieter what’s up with that?

    Interesting how singing exercises are also useful for speaking exercises. It really goes to show you that speaking is as much of a skill that can be developed much like singing is.

      Absolutely Pat. I have taken most of my techniques that I use with my clients from my training as a professional singer.

    Wonderful exercise Sir. By the way, can the 1st exercise do with a song rhythm? I felt more pleasure to do even more with that .

    Thank you for this great content! :) Just out of curiosity how long would you have do these diffrent types of practices to get a more lasting effect?

    • @jimmycannonvoicecoach
      @jimmycannonvoicecoach  Год назад +2

      I'm afraid there isn't a definitive answer to this... it depends on your voice, your understanding of the techniques, and commitment levels. The muscles need to form new memories, which can take time.

    Thank you, Jimmy, I'll continue to practice these exercises. I have two questions, though. When trying to engage the abdominal muscles, am I supposed to feel something pushing out of the sides of my waist when putting my hands there? Secondly, I feel a strain/pull on both sides of my neck when I attempt to breath with my abdominal muscles. Can you guess what I might be doing incorrectly?

    • @jimmycannonvoicecoach
      @jimmycannonvoicecoach  3 года назад +1

      Let me know how you're getting on with the exercises... The best way to feel the abdominal muscles engaging is to practice a 'silent laugh'. I would have to watch you breath to really see what's going on... feel free to send me a video hello@jimmycannon.com

    I can speak with confidence but I have a soft spoken voice, even tho sometimes it can be deep, I don’t know if it’s because I don’t speak as much to exercise my vocal cords

      It really depends whether being able to speak louder and with resonance is important to you?

      I don't actually have a great lung capacity. The secret is in the control over the air flow by creating the right amount of pressure.
