. . . .
In this video I review the Kizlyar Supreme Delta fixed-blade combat/tactical knife. This is an excellent general purpose blade for the serious user and collector. The blade is made of D2 tool steel and measures (with ricasso) 5 7/8". The handle, meanwhile, is 5 1/4", and the scales are composed of Kraton with an ABS base. Without the sheath the knife weighs a stout 11.5 ounces and is handle-heavy, meaning this is a swift blade with plenty of defensive potential.
The Delta model differs from the Alpha and Trident models, for example, in that the Delta has a harpoon tip rather than a simple drop point. This protruding false edge inflicts heavier damage on soft targets while reinforcing the tip and the spine. Though I was extremely aggressive with the Delta, there was no tip damage; the point was neither broken or blunted.
The D2 tool steel allowed the blade to withstand corrosion and resist edge wear. Although I put away the Delta dirty and wet on numerous occasions over the past 8 months, there has not been the faintest amount of rust anywhere on either the tang or blade. Furthermore, after cutting cardboard, paper, leather, paracord, and copper cable, the edge was noticeably dulled, but it remained "utility sharp." It simply took a few minutes of stropping to bring out the razor sharp edge once more. But there was no sharpening needed, just honing.
Last, but certainly not least, the Delta's sheath is of the highest quality. When you purchase the satin version of the knife you receive a manly-looking sheath that sports woodland digital camouflage similar to MARPAT worn by the US Marines. It can be attached to MOLLE webbing tip-up or tip-down, or it can be placed on a belt via quick-detach snap straps or a more secure belt loop system. The icing on the cake is that the sheath can be disassembled easily and rinsed both inside and outside should the need arise.
Therefore, I highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a high-quality tactical knife under $200 US. I have little doubt that this knife could make the trip with you to Hell and back.

Wish there were more reviews like this! Super thorough, and a legit hard use test.
I just ordered one due to your reviews. Well done.
I will order too.
@@smeagle6092 The D2 was very hard to get an edge on. Maybe look at the Aus-8. I ended up selling it. Check out the Ka-bar Turok.
@@chokeout412 it's too late, I'll look into that gor my next knife though thanks.
Excellent review. Got a couple of Kizlyar Supreme Knives in D2. I can confirm everything he said in this review. Their knives are truly outstanding in terms of price and value.
Great review. I've been a fan of Kizlyar Supreme for a while. So happy to see more people giving them a try.
+zoo This is my first one. MrLeonidas0001 had their hollow-handled survival knife and the Amigo neck knife and loved them both. He encouraged me to pick this one up. I really like it and have my eye on either the Sturm or Urban.
Thanks for the comment, my friend! Have a great one :)
Another excellent well presented and thorough review. Your clear and concise speech is much appreciated because of my less than perfect hearing!
That's excellent! I'm glad you liked it :)
Blessings!
Your channel is awesome dude! I gave this knife to a friend who's going over seas. I appreciate you taking the time to review.
looks like a sturdy user. It does still have the secondary factory bevel however. I personally wouldn't be satisfied with the cutting capabilities of a secondary bevel like this one. Angle seems kinda large as well. If you gotta go for sturdyness like in this video however it's perfect. I wonder how it would hold in a shaving sharp secondary convex.
+Dutch Bushcraft Knives Apologies for the delayed reply. I think it would take a convexed secondary edge well. But since it is D2 and has been tested at 61-62 Rockwell, it would take a long time to re-profile the edge. I'm fine with it as is. It is not hair-popping sharp, but it is utility sharp and holds that sharpness for quite a while.
thanks for the reply!
Nice blade with a well rounded review. Good job!
+Weekend Gunners Thanks, brother! I appreciate it.
Be blessed, bud!
I really enjoyed this review. I love the guard shape on this knife! Great vid!
+Strugglin'ToSurvive Thank you very much! The profile of this knife is so sexy! I love it!
Be blessed, bud!
Badass setup you did with that knife :) Great review and thanks for the shout out :D
+MrLeonidas0001 Tactical Adventures Thank you! And you're welcome, bud! :)
I have several Kizlyar knives and I have always found them to be high performance, low maintenance good value for money. I have also found that they make great gifts.
+Wayne Orellana They seem to be really high quality knives. I have enjoyed mine :)
Thanks for the comment, Wayne! Be blessed!
I love the review brother. I like the blade. I'm glade you put this threw so much before posting the video. Very informal.
+budgetgunguy117 Thank you! (I just went to call you Georgia Fox! Haha!)
+Survivalkraft hahaha I know. I'm hopping to start putting up new videos by November.
It's a handsome knife... and this was a great review :-)
+nicestknives Thank you, brother! That means a lot coming from you...your reviews are always informative :)
I really enjoy your videos. You remind me of the those rare special school teachers that I really liked in K-6. But, you like badass things. Carry on.
+ache4dalake Haha! I am indeed a very reserved, mellow person. Most people are surprised that I am into guns and knives when they find out, and especially when they find I have been concealing a firearm!
Great video, very cool blade!
+Punisheroutdoors Official Thank you! It is a great blade :)
Hi there long time no see. Fantastic blade. Just letting you know that my son is still using that knife that you send me for the contest wining. And every time I take my notebook in hand I think of you. Continue do the good work and reviews. One of you biggest fans.
Thomas
+CSA Chevaux sans abri Thank you, Thomas! That is great to hear! Tell your son I said "Hi!" Blessings!
+Survivalkraft say cud i talk to you by phone for a moment? hear is my mal csanordfr@gmail.com
Very thorough review. Is it a hollow grind?
Yes, it has a very light hollow grind.
Another really nice feature of this knife is that it looks like a standard hunting knife if you change out the grips to Wood which is easy enough to do. Nobody is the wiser that it's an actual combat knife because it doesn't look scary or evil looking like some of the mtech fixed blades I've seen
5 star review thank you
+terry oneill Thank you very much!
Thanks for the video I am ordering one for a self-defense blade
I own a Kizlayar folder and fixed blade. Bother have only been sharpened once after beating them up. Most knife owners do not know of Kizlayar from Dagestan, Russia.
I really enjoyed this review. gave me everything I needed to know about the performance potential of the knife.
One question though, is the upper half way through the knife false edge sharp ?
Thanks.
+Agisilaos Spartan Thank you! No, it is not sharp, but it is almost sharpened. 30 minutes on a stone and strop and it should cut nicely. They didn't sharpen the false edge due to various laws in the US concerning "daggers." But they took it to almost sharp so that the user could decide.
Nice review!
+Bush Camping Tools Thanks!
No Probs!
Hi, could you tell me what kind of grind this knife used? Personally I prefer a scandi grind because it is easier to re-sharpen (comparing to convex). I am considering getting one of this. Thanks
I definitely agree about the Scandi grind. Yet, as an American, I am used to my outdoor knives having a secondary bevel.
The Delta has a very slight hollow grind, though I do emphasize "slight" because it could almost pass for flat-ground.
So far it has been an excellent knife. It will not be as easy to maintain as a Scandi-ground blade, but really, what is? Scandis are idiot-proof! Haha!
Thanks for the info! But I will go with the Senpai, love the Tanto style.
Good choice! I don't have that one, but I want it ;)
152MM--Howitzer convex is easy to sharpen more so than zny other grind check th3 videos
@@survivalkraft Hey man, I got the Senpai and had it for the past year. Very happy except one: the spine is all rounded and I actually have to use my folder to strike ferro rods. Is it the same with the delta? I can grind the spine myself but really do not want to do it....
Nice
This knife is very close to Extrema Ratio - Col Moshin and there is no doubt it's of similar quality for 1/4 of price tag
+henry ford Sorry for the delayed reply.
You are very observant! They do resemble one another...I never noticed :)
Thanks for the informative comment! Blessings!
+Survivalkraft Thanks, recently I focused on Russian combat blades, two of my latest knives are made by original Kyzliar manufacturer (not Kyzliar Supreme, but Kyzliar) and all I may say is - these are superior to most of other combat knives made by Western factories, or companies within its price range. There is no political ground of my claim, it's just pure comparison, have combat knives from Kabar /Cold Steel /Ontario - Non of them come even close to quality of Kyzliar.... I am looking up also Supreme selection and other Russian manufacturers and also reading feedback about them, and people who purchased these Russian combat blades are extremely happy and surprise of their very hight quality and fit and finish.... A.R Zlatoust is another great Russian maker worth to look at, so as Melita
Thank you for the info! I have had limited experience with KS's knives...this is a new adventure for me. But so far I am extremely impressed.
+Survivalkraft I have non of Kyzliar Supreme yet, but what attract me to them is, after enough reviews reading from variety sources is it is sure bet on their outstanding quality and that unlike many other so called "combat" knives - these come with amazing and proper sheath, designed really for countless variety of wearing options, it's made of high end materials and with high tolerances.... Sheaths like KS comes with knives very rarely with other makers....
grest kinfe and sheath..:)
+eltenda fabrizio :) Ha!
Have a good one, bud!
This knife is far better than a K Bar
50 times thru card board you dont play great review
+led8541 Thank you very much! I should have another review of the Kizlyar Supreme Sturm up in a few weeks. So stay tuned :)
Blessings!
