CHM 230 Alkanes and unsaturation

This video briefly describes alkanes that conform to the CnH(2n+2) rule as saturated, and how to tell when a hydrocarbon is not saturated. Each degree of unsaturation is either a pi bond or a ring. The formula for benzene is given, and its degree of unsaturation is calculated and explained.
