Marshall Jefferson is the legendary producer who produced the very 1st Acid House records, "Sleezy D - I’ve Lost Control” and "Phuture - Acid Tracks" as well as "Move Your Body (The House Music Anthem)", which established piano as a House element.
More correct is that Marshall Jefferson recorded something he (according to his own words) invented at the Postoffice and that had to be recorded because it was a terrific R&B tune and then called it the "house anthem", while Frankie Knucles was mixing the latest dance classics" with other popular dacne music and not R&B. see The movie "Hottest shot I ever heard", which is about move your body's creation (ruclips.net/video/gaPBQZ_l37s/видео.html).
The legend that is Marshall Jefferson, 'house music all night long' had the pleasure of seeing this inspirational man in Avalon, Darlington. Immense set for new found fans and old alike. Keep the Faith Marshall.
saw him 2 nights ago :-p. Grey hair and all he fucking WRECKSSSSSS the turntables .....what an absolute musical genius...... Long Live the Legends!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best producers of house music of all times. How refreshing to see him on Mixmag lab! The kickstarter to press that record is also a great idea! Made my day. Oh yes Oh yes :D
ID at 53:00? So many absolute barnstormers throughout this set it's a joke. Buzzing to see you perform at the nest on friday Marshall! Culmination of a dream to see you do a live set.
Marshall recently produced a vinyl triple album soon to be released in April 2016 on Sleezy D which just launched a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to press the album. It features songs with Full Intention, David Tort, Rhythm Masters, Tyree Cooper, K’Alexi, Digital Primate, and others. Details: www.kickstarter.com/projects/634003647/sleezy-d
Legend! Real master DJ doesn't switch knobs all the fucking time like those digital pathetic poseurs. If there is no need for it, he doesn't touch them at all. I've noticed that many digital poseurs don't let go of fucking knobs like there is life in them or as if sole DJ's work is hold on to knobs and pretend like you are creating significant influence.
Being from Brooklyn, and still being a garage house head. I have issues with people pretty much just standing around looking at a great DJ play when they should be dancing their asses off ...
Yes I agree. Some of these Folks look like they're at a dang Starbucks sipping a no-caffeine latte, checking FBook on their smartphones. But they're "innocent" as to what they're supposed to be doing (burning up that dang dancefloor). I think many of these "kids" were watching The Teletubies when this House Legend Marshall Jefferson broke it with "Move Yo Body". Do like I do in L.A. Hit that set, next time and "teach the children" how it's done on the Dancefloor. I'm converting "wall hanger-poser mod-selfie cell vein victims" everytime I hit a House Gig.
People have become less and less liberated in a world with so much diversification and labeling. Egoistic driven culture has taken over the underground house scene. People record your every move now. This stifles people. so dumb
It’s similar to Boiler Room crowds, the trendy and stylish who know it’s the place to be, but don’t really care so much. Shame really as if it was opened up to proper clubbers it would go off!
+sib mackern right on...I think it was the lupe Fuentes/Cousteau set that did it to me. I wanted to jump off the roof after 10 minutes of it. different strokes for different folks, I guess.
"The Godfather himself" hmm think you might be getting confused with someone else love 😂 Marshall's looking at her as if to say "I ain't Frankie but ok" haha
@@tomorrow21 Thanks for all you've done! Respect! House Music all night long! I grew up in the late 90's hearing Jr Vasquez and Danny Tenaglia, and later Timmy Regisford, and many others. I was in the booth with Frankie Knuckles in NYC once. Love me my House Music! Got my little home studio together setup recently and finally completed a project and uploaded it to a distributor. With ableton and all the tutorials out there, it's so much clearer than when I tried with Cubase 15 years ago. Amazing you guys created it all with just an 808 and a synth.
+b4ssfunk3d I'm just messing with you. I work for MrSpeakers. We are sending you a free DUM cable for your cans. I'm glad you like them and am honored to see you using them!
Marshall Jefferson Is this the real Marshall Jefferson? If so, I just _jizzed_ in my pants! Thanks for the heads-up, legend. This was a True House set!
Marshall Jefferson Amazing how fresh that track still sounds after so many years! I seriously thought it was a new release! Thanks again! Stay blessed!
I don't know if the people commenting below are naive, under the age of 45 and clueless about Club and House music...or just being nice and awe struck by MJ's name and record. All due respect MJ, but this was really disappointing and rather boring. I kept waiting to hear some hot "M.A.W." type of sound but nothing...to be honest, anybody below that claims to be an "Old Skool" House-Head (and called this amazing or dope...dope?), is lying thru their teeth.

GD awesome set. Brings back a lot of 25 yo memories, and not ashamed to say it made me tear up a little.
What...? Where were you dancing....this was boring and generic as hell.
That track that came in about 18:50 or so .... So reminded me of THE HOT 97 ALL NIGHT HOUSE PARTY , with either FRANKIE KNUCKLES or DAVID MORALES !!!!
That's "Tania" by Harry Choo Choo Romero, one of my favourite house tracks of all times!!
Marshall, you fucken rocked it ! You are a true master ! Cheers to your stellar career !!
Awesome set ! "House music all night long!"
Boring.

Finally, some real house music being played in the lab. I nearly unsubscribed a few days ago.
Notice how Mr. Jefferson focuses on the music, rather than dancing around like a jackass...
It's a matter of taste. I really liked the KODE9 set in the lab LDN.
