I know. Blade died in a car accident and Rick just left town after being rejected by Ashley. This storyline was reused many years later with Jack and Marco. Just like leftover food, the storyline wasn't as good.

@op the ending was unsatisfactory likely due to Michael Tylo being abruptly let go from the show.
Him and his wife Hunter Tylo had a very unhealthy, toxic marriage and they would often get into seriously volatile and nasty spats backstage in the makeup area for all to witness, which made cast & crew extremely uncomfortable. So the big bosses finally got fed up with it, and because Hunter Tylo and her character of 'Taylor' on B&B were more popular and therefore more valuable than Michael Tylo's dual role of
Rick/Blade, they cut their losses and dropped him from the show.
Both Michael and Hunter Tylo were having off/on extramarital affairs and were drinking heavily and indulging in coke and also involved in wife swapping with Kimberlyn Brown and her real life hubby.

    • @kleeamd8274
      @kleeamd8274 3 года назад

@@keeganthorpe all those shows share backstage areas. When I used to read soap opera magazines back in the day, the soap stars on Y&R/B&B would frequently mention sharing backstage common areas with each other, as well as 'The Price Is Right' (TPIR) and even a few prime time sitcoms. I remember many stars would talk about seeing all the big TPIR prizes and props being carried through the common areas on a constant basis.
The soap magazines, occasionally used to show B&B/Y&R stars goofing around backstage on the TPIR set or posing with TPIR models Janice, Holly, Diane and sometimes Bob Barker backstage.
B&B, Y&R and TPIR are all filmed (and have all always been filmed) at CBS's Television City studios compound. And the soundstages for Y&R, B&B and TPIR are all right next to each other.
Back in the early days of Y&R, their soundstage was used by 'The Jeffersons' when Y&R wasn't using it.
'The Talk' also films at CBS Television City. And they frequently use B&B/Y&R stars as last minute, "backup" guests when a scheduled guest doesn't show, as B&B and Y&R film in the same building.
'The Talk' actually films on the old soundstage of 'Rhoda'.
TPIR films on the old soundstage for 'The Carol Burnett Show' (TCBS)
'Match Game' (MG) used to also film at CBS Television City way back when and shared space with Y&R, TPIR, and TCBS. Old reruns of MG show stars from Y&R as celebrity players on the MG panel. I know Brenda Dickson did a week's worth of shows on MG, as well as Melody Thomas Scott, because of course again, their sets were right nearby, and they would also serve as convenient, easy last minute replacements on the MG celebrity panel.
There was also a famous episode of MG where the cast of TCBS crashed the MG set during filming and joined in on one round of the game. The cast of TCBS sat right on the floor, on the orange shag carpeted steps of the set, filling out the MG cards and chatting with Gene Rayburn and the celebrities on panel
Craig Ferguson's late night show was also taped at CBS Television City. Craig Ferguson actually became good pals with Daniel McVicar (Clarke Garrison from B&B) from running into each other backstage so many times and gave Daniel McVicar a recurring skit on his late night show.

B&B, Y&R and The Price Is Right were all taped at the studios at CBS's Television City complex. All three shows had sound stages right next to each other and therefore shared backstage areas, such as dressing rooms, wardrobe and makeup.
When I used to read the now defunct Soap Opera Magazine in the early-mid 90's, the magazine used to have a lot of behind the scenes photos from the soaps of that time period.
And many of the behind the scenes photos they did on B&B and Y&R, they'd have pics showing the actors from those shows goofing around on The Price Is Right set or with props from The Price Is Right etc.
And they'd show actors from B&B hanging out with actors from Y&R back stage

I know they went through a lot of tragedy with their daughter losing an eye to cancer and then later their son drowning. I was a huge fan of his on GL and then watched him as Matt Connelly on AMC. Is that where they met bcause I know she had a role on there at the same time

    • @kleeamd8274

@@lillianlyons3395 yes, they met on AMC and I think she mentioned in her book that she had to leave the show after it was discovered they were dating in real life. I guess the show had some rule about that at the time.
I read her book front to back and she's extremely candid, maybe a little too much for her own good.
As I mentioned, they were both cheating on each other through out the whole relationship. First, he was having a fling with a costar off AMC and during the time Hunter Tylo was pregnant with their first son (the one who eventually died).
She talked about the female costar calling Michael at home all the time, wanting to discuss the script, or so he'd tell her that was the reason.
And how he'd lie about them filming love scenes. Michael would tell Hunter that he filmed a love scene completely covered (either with a shirt or blanket) but then Hunter would catch the episode on TV at home and see he really had his shirt off in it and when he got home from work she'd go ballistic on him, confronting him over the lies.
Hunter went on to say that they eventually let him go because Michael finally gave in to Hunter's demands and told the showrunners that he couldn't be bare chested during love scenes anymore
I'm sure, as you can imagine, that being it was a soap opera, those type of scenes come with the territory. It was a very odd demand of hers.
But she described they were both mutually jealous of this sort of thing, when it came to love scenes with costars.
Hunter talked about a time when he got so enraged with jealousy, that he broke her favorite table that cost thousands of dollars. Think she said it was made of some expensive marble flown in from Italy.
This also was because she said they both drank often and heavily.
I also find it weird that they'd enter into wife swapping, given each other's jealous nature.
Hunter talked about becoming so close to Kimberlyn that they bought houses right next door to each other and Hunter & Michael invested in some side business Kimberlyn & her husband had.
Hunter talked about all 4 of them in the hot tub together doing body shots off one another and doing lines of coke.
And then she mentioned her & Kimberlyn had a falling out eventually after Kimberlyn felt that Hunter stole the Pantene shampoo commercial opportunity from her.
Apparently, they were considering Kimberlyn first and then because they shared the same talent agency, I guess Hunter's agent got wind of the job and jumped on it instead before Kimberlyn could secure it. It got so bad that at the studio the studio security had to keep them apart. Also, Kimberlyn ended up taking Michaels side in their divorce later on and Kimberlyn testified that Hunter was an unfit mother.
Hunter also discussed always being nearly broke despite both of them working, as their marriage was so volatile and tumultuous that they spent a fortune on divorce lawyers multiple times, even though they didn't go through it until many years later. However, they did separate several times, especially after Hunter went to film on location in Egypt and cheated with a foreign actor she met there. While she was off shooting Michael got a restraining order against her with Kimberlyns help and when she came back to the US during a break in shooting and tried to visit her sons (before the girls were born) Michael called the police on her and had her escorted off the property.
She also lost money because they moved abruptly several times and each time took a loss on the homes they left.
