Peru is a very beautiful country that is worth returning to as many times as possible. Their gastronomy, their culture, and wonderful people make them unique.
Hi there, love your video. Just for interest, Asian cuisine influence is big in Peru. Ceviche is influenced by the Japanese community, (sashimi), lomo saltado by the Chinese, it's cooked on a wok and soya sauce is the key ingredient, sometimes oyster sauce as well. In fact 90% of Peruvians have soya sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil in their kitchen cabinet. Hope you return .
As a side note, the song you heard everybody singing in mercado San Ramon is called "Contigo Perú", it was composed by Polo Campos in 1977 as a request from former president Francisco Morales Bermúdez, it was meant to be a song for our national football (Soccer) team, supposedly they closed the deal and Polo Campos went for a coffee, he started composing on the back of his coffee recipt and finished the song 15 minutes later. Nowadays it's more like Perús second anthem, that's why everybody was singing along. As a Peruvian I swear every time I hear that song I get goosebumps like every other Peruvian. I really liked your video, thanks for visiting my country and sharing your experience.
Whenever I'm in Lima, I always think that it resembles LA. Big coastal city on a bay, people love surfing and beach culture, cliffs above the beach, people dress in that casual LA way. Great sunsets at the beach.
