Hahaha definitely patience, when I first started, I wanted to build everything fast, and then I realize that my habitats looked terrible, so I slowed down and really started to think about what I build and all the details, and even though they don't look the best, they look a lot better than before
Patience and perseverance prevails
I think what really started to help me is taking a picture from real life and trying to recreate that 1:1 in planet zoo. My very first building was terrible and easily over 10k pieces, the more I try to recreate the more techniques I learn to build in fewer pieces and faster and now I would say they are average with room to improve.
@@kieran7173 That's a good tip, I should try that out, I usually just do by memory, but having actual references sound so much better
But things is not that easy and straightforward if u play in franchise mode😅.
You need to go fast first. Like.. Getting like.. At least 5 animals maybe. To get like.. 700 guests or something.
After u get that profit, you start to slow. Start to decorate and modify stuff
And then you need to play fast again to prepare for your next habitat or area. And then need to play slow again to decorate and stuff. And also to collect some money like.. 10k money maybe or something.
It's the mix of fast-slow pace if in franchise mode

I’ve been playing this game since it came out and I’m still learning things. I never knew you could add bubbles and mist to water
I just started my first zoo and made 3 habitats, left it over night, I had 1600 guests crammed on few paths and made 5mil$. Economy in this game is weird, I don;t think I'll ever have money issues, the real problem is conservation credits, which I earned 1800 over that night, but it's still so low, as some animals cost 10000 per one animal.
I recommend making a online zoo specifically for earning CC. You can find a few videos explaining the best ways to do this 😊
FIll exhibits with endangered animals, turn on the population control and set it so that excess animals are Released Into the Wild automatically. The CC will build quickly with no attention from you.
Thanks for all the help I've been getting on your channel! I really just wanted a light zoo game, so I haven't done much besides sandbox. I'm gonna try using money & credits next zoo, & try to go less crazy with number & size of exhibits lol.

I guess I can feel clever, I found it in the first 1-2 hours. I have built some in Prehistoric Kingdom before but we can't edit water color there.
I actually started with career mode over a year ago and got bored w it straight away. Well it was a mixture of being overwhelmed and impatient because I wanted my own zoo and start it from scratch. Today I suddenly got the bug for some reason and decided to play. I restarted career mode and was like nah. Went into sandbox mode and had an absolute blast! It was easier than I thought though there’s still loads I don’t know. I am really enjoying slowly learning as I go. I can see now there’s so many awesome things I can do with it but I’m seeing this first sandbox zoo as me practising. My focus is on the animals first, finding out what they need. Next I want to learn more on the staff and facilities for staff, some buildings I don’t understand, nor the assigning. And then I’m gonna work on being creative.
I am also looking forward at looking up more videos on it. We all have our own way of learning and I’m just so happy I went for sandbox mode and realized how awesome this game is. ❤
Thanks for explaining your thought process.. me personally I came from RPG games, so Career mode is like a scenario that lets me roleplay as a certain type of zoo owner. That roleplay part alone hooked me in.. the zoo building lessons that the Career mode gave is just a bonus.
I also dont rlly like career mode and ima switch back to sandbox in a sec
although the story was great and i got near the end
i might continue after i get bored of sandbox( which i prob wont)

Great video, I'm redownloading the game atm after a long long time, pretty much when it launched I jumped straight into sandbox and was pretty overwhealemd and didn't pick it back up but recently I had the urge to get back to either this game or RCT2 to build something nice and decided to give planet zoo a try again, gonna take it slow and do carreer first. Thanks for the vid!

for your last point, I really start with career mode until I stocked in placing the keeper hut after building the ostrich habitat
no matter what I do the keeper hut can't be placed so it gets so frustrating when I went to the game community I found that some players faced the same problem as well so I gave up and started a sandbox zoo
Yeah the Career mode has many stuck points.
I used to play a game called poney ranch and I was a big sims player back in the days so only a few career modes were enough for me before I got into the sandbox. My very first zoo will NOT look perfect and I don't need it to. But each enclosure is better than the previous one and eventually, I'll just go back and edit. I just make sure all animals have what they need so that the parc is functional and then when I'm done with the paths and putting everything and everyone in place, I will go back and edit a lot of things I don't like.
in franchise. DO NOT build drink or food shops of any kind, until your AVERAGE guests thirst and hunger are into the red in the guest stats menu. otherwise they will not be nearly as cost friendly to run.

Cool video, you explain things very clearly :) I would love to hear any help about the transport rides because I just can't seem to do them. I always end up with zoos where the visitors won't walk to certain points and then just can't seem to get to grips with the transport rides. They are so hard to me and I don't know if I am just being stupid or missing something lol
The blueprints from the steam workshop never work , they look great but when you place them the paths water are never included what makes them useles and annoying to place
Tbh I only use blueprints for smaller things rather than large habitats I just creat my own

Hey, how do I stop my guests for dancing? My whole zoo just started hitting the jig after I threw them into the air, thanks.
Something I'm struggling with is the "select grid" option when I'm constructing around facilities or whatever. I can't figure out HOW to actually select a grid when i click the button. It's like nothing havppens.

I am very very new to the game and I actually don't have any friends that play it... so I was wondering, how do community challenges work if you don't have friends who play it? Every time I open the menu it just says "No active community challenges". And my globe is empty other than me haha 😭 Do you know if can I make it so that I get community challenges too?
Ass long as you are playing through steam and you are connected to online then you will get community challenges. These changes are for everyone playing planet on their server. As for friends. You can add people of steam and they will appear on your globe but having friends has no actual in game benefits
@@adamup oh thank you for the info! so it is dependent on each server then? Maybe that is the problem. I live in New Zealand so the server must be too small maybe? It has never showed any challenges for me in the main menu! But thanks again :)

adamup i really need your help,i want to add a artic hare into my game but when i press manual download it does it as a normal file instead of a zip file so i cant do anything else after it, i have tried everything but i cant even seem to get into the win62 file please help me
I would read through the download and make sure not extra files are need to be downloaded along side of it and also make sure your game files are up to date and in date with the mod

@@adamup I checked everything and it is up to date and installed a mod that it needed but it just did the same thing as before but I loaded up planet zoo and it wasn't there

On sandbox how I get all the animals bc not all of them I can't used they r not in the market n it won't let me do search on them to used them any help any one I wanna use all of them on my sandbox
All animals are instantly unlocked when playing sandbox. Just go to trade and type the name of the animal in. If you are playing on console only the animals currently available on console version will be available

i dont get it, what does the career and franchise give you?
Cant i just go slow and building amazing exhibits like you in sandbox?
Knowledge and experience it give you. Its like trying to build a cabinet without having instructions
career mode basically explains how to play the game. It explains the controls. You also unlock really cool animal statues for your zoos by completing the objectives of each career zoo.
Why are there so many people on your world? I have only the one i designed in the beginng on there 🤔

This is great, but not everyone has the time for patience to be honest. I don't like giving that advice to people in that way. For example, if they are playing 2 hours a week, it might not be until 2030 before they get a chance to go into Sandbox mode by those rules. I say just let people make a few crappy zoos first, and then get the hang of things and be happy. (Because honestly, tutorials aren't perfect in this game either. Like a lot of people seem to get stuck just on the tutorials because the tutorials want to limit what you can do even among the things they tell you to do... along with some quirks and bugs that might not recognize right away that you accomplished something)
I mean, my logic for this is really if most people could be paid by making planet Zoo content, then it's worth that time investment, if it's just a game that is eventually going to be replaced by the next planet zoo or planet game, then play how you want! (Even if it is not the best idea)
this game have the worst career mod in any game i ever played. So, i`m sorry. i did try to play it several times, but always dropped it. So, try and errors, youtube videos and steam discussions is a way to go)
I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to play in sandbox mode first. Ain't nobody got time for the other modes. And downloading workshop items always saves me time. It's basically the only way I play. Wait. . .you can have them sell whatever you want now?
career mode was super helpful to me. I would have been lost if I hadn't done the first few zoos of career mode where it is literally the game tutorial and teaches you the controls and how to play. Also gives some great examples of working zoos to give inspiration.
Adam: Learn to play the game before jumping into sandbox mode.
