I have been watching Laura's videos for at least a year, and I just realized why she is so enamored with the word "prep" on this channel. Not only am I dumb, I feel the need to broadcast my dumbosity. Definitely going to check out the new product line, though!
I am rewatching Orange is the New Black and arriving in total delight! Thanks for this show and the healthy recipes. It's so great that we can be a little closer when we cook the same things. From Russia with love, thank you! 🇷🇺
I like this because the turmeric gives the turkey a vibrant color, instead of the normal pasty gray you normally get with ground turkey. I usually use something called "Kitchen Bouquet Browning Seasoning," to give turkey a darker color and slightly salty/umami flavor. I think there are a few brands of "browning sauce." And yes, ALWAYS extra fat in ground turkey, like butter, as Laura uses, or beef tallow, or lard, or ghee, something good for you and flavorful to offset the blandness and dryness of the turkey.
Heat a bit of butter and evoo in pan, add 1 chopped shallot, cook til transparent. Add 1 minced garlic Add 1 lb ground Turkey, about 1-2 tsp of turmeric, 1 tsp garlic salt, & pepper. A bit of broth, pinch of salt, a bit more butter. Cook using a chop and toss methed
Hi Laura, do you have any healthy options as we're going healthy for my fathers chemo treatment and from the videos I've seen you know a lot of healthy options to make for dinner and lunch or a snack?? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) thanks..... we use turmeric on whole chickens for a little bit of seasoning and with our ground beef we make meatballs with homemade pasta sauce :) coming from a Italian family we have pasta dishes a lot of the time all gluten free of course as we have celiac disease
Thank you Laura for sharing your amazing kitchen skills with us. Your cooking style is perfect for me because you prepare dishes that are simple, healthy and affordable: you tick all of my desired cooking boxes ✅ Keep smiling, sweetheart 🤗
Love this! I am also gluten free (celiac) so I love watching you cook things that I can easily replicate! One major piece of advice I would offer you though from watching for a while now, would be to suggest that you switch from garlic salt to garlic powder. You still get all the garlic flavor while being able to control the salt level in a dish, and I know that you pay attention to that for your kiddos so this is just one easy way to do it. Now I personally like a lot of salt, (as I think you do too) but I still prefer to add it separately, to my own taste. I used garlic salt for years, but someone suggested that I switch about a decade ago I was surprised to find that I have never felt the need to go back just to get that desired level of seasoning! I think you would also make the adjustment quite easily. If you decide to try it, lmk what you think! :D
Gonna have to try this, I'm not a big fan of turmeric flavor but maybe mixed with all the others it will be good. I'm willing to try anything once or twice lol
Thank You! what a great video! I use turmeric daily - usually on my eggs - you are such a smart cook to add it to your crumbled meat! I will try it, for sure!
Never thought to put turmeric in ground turkey! I will try it. I've been trying to use turmeric in dishes too. I found, however, it dyes everything: bowls I store it in, plates I serve it on. Makes me not want to use but I know it is SO good for you. Any suggestion on how to deal with the dye factor?? Thank you!
Thank you for another great vid with your cooking tips, Dear Laura🤗 In Danish we call it Charlotte løg = onion 🇩🇰😄 I use tumeric in so many dishes too and also shakes/smoothiethingy's👍🏾 All warmth to you and your family 💃🏽
I love the commitment to these videos, I've always been curious about what celebrities eat to stay fit 👀 Sidenote my gosh you are stunning. Age backwards, I swear 😁
Hi there! I’ve been checking out your recipes, I think they are straightforward, easy & really delicious. I’m going to try this particular ‘Turmeric Turkey’ recipe-I’m just going to substitute an ‘Extra Firm Tofu, instead of the bird. I don’t see why it shouldn’t work? Wish me luck! Your videos are great!
That is so strange. I literally made this last night, using onion instead of shallot, and I thought I was being so original lol. I added it to a goulash I was making. It IS delicious and I have leftovers so I am so excited to eat them today!
She was actually involved in silencing some of the victims of Masterson that came forward, when she was still a member of that Cult. I highly doubt she has the balls to reveal every detail of that useless cult
She probably doesn’t want to put herself and family in danger… anyone that speaks out against Scientology are risking their and their families lives/career. I’m sure she wants to speak on it but I would choose my family and how I support them over being a crusader- for safety/survival reasons. I’m just assuming that’s her reasoning but who knows
Former fan here. I thought you were better than silencing a victim of rape. Also interrogating her when you were in that cult. Who do you think you are? I'm a rape victim and I won't stand for people who silence and interrogate other victims. Do the right thing, Laura. It's not thar hard. Leah Remini was right
It's as though she has no empathy for the rape survivors of her friend and her cult. Or maybe she's just afraid of the cult? Letting them bully her into silence?
Idk but I lost respect for her and I really admired her and thought she wouldn't be that kind of person. We all make mistakes but she has a platform and could try to do the right thing by at least apologizing and acknowledging what she did was not okay at all.

Just seeing your excitement with your finished turmeric turkey inspired. Looks so good.
"Chop and toss" is the "bend and snap" of cooking 😅
Thx for sharing!
I’ve been making this since your book came out! This recipe is like turmeric turkey 2.0!
Heat a bit of butter and evoo in pan, add 1 chopped shallot, cook til transparent.
Add 1 minced garlic
Add 1 lb ground Turkey, about 1-2 tsp of turmeric, 1 tsp garlic salt, & pepper. A bit of broth, pinch of salt, a bit more butter.

Omg, you look gorgeous with your new haircut. ❤
So excited to make this

What a great recipe. Will definitely try it. Hope to see more videos.
I just made the turkey for first time and added a creamy ricotta tomato sauce. I put that over rice and added Parmesan. It was soooooo yummy.
