Hi Julie! Thank you for the review of the Gemini MIDI! I get confused at everything out there and this helped so much! Oh Miss Nala! Why is it cats have to give us heart attacks? When I moved to my house seven years ago, my Lydia kitty up & disappeared. I called & called for her & could hear her meowing, then, I couldn’t. I went outside to look for her (I have a little forested area behind me), looked over every inch of the house, I even called a company who could scan my walls to look for her in them (they took forever to return my call). After a week I decided she was just gone. About 10 days in I came down the hallway to find her crawling out from under the front space of my lower cabinets, where she had somehow managed to find an opening where it had not been closed off, just big enough for her to get in & out. With four cats in the house at the time it was impossible to tell that she was, in fact, eating & drinking & was quite fine. Needless to say I immediately blocked off the hole & didn’t speak to her for a week 😉

Just bought the MIDI, it is to be delivered today. This video has helped me know what to do. There were some negative reviews, mostly around the warping of the folders, but your video helped me get past those and give this a try. Can’t wait to get it!
You will love it ☺️ having had mine a while now I'd definitely recommend getting some of the small folders for smaller dies. Yes the big folders do warp, but unlike other plates they still give great results when warped and are far cheaper to replace. Also if you soak the warped ones in hot water then put them under something heavy, they straighten out quite a bit. Happy crafting love☺️🤗💜

Glad Nala turned up. Snow went missing one morning and I was a cop case, she normally doesn’t go outside until she has had her breakfast any way the day was cold with rain and snow ❄️, she hates the wet and 🥶 cold. Eventually she turned up at about 2 in the afternoon, wet and cold and ready for a feed and lots of cuddles, now she is like a shadow and follows me everywhere. Anyway love the craft you showed us today and the little machine you got so off to do some die cutting and pocket making. Too cold to venture out today. 🥶🙀👍😘

I love mine Jo Ann. Some people are not happy that the plates warp, but i don't find it a problem as it still cuts perfectly. hope you get on well with yours love😊🤗💜

Julie, I truly understand about the big shot and with my arthritis I spent $200 dollars on the electric embossing machine but it still wasn't practical because I don't use it enough. How adorable, 3 little kitties🤗 So far Nala has never run away. One tap of the food bowl and she appears. the information from the previous owner was that the was temperamental and ran away constantly. I agree with you, in a happy home they do it once and scare themselves silly☺️🤗💜

This looks like a good purchase and a nice desk size, I love my big shot but it is so clunky and big. I use my 3D Tim Holtz embossing folders in it so I guess I would keep doing that and use the rest on the New one if I buy it. So glad your kitty found her way home back to you! I would say that this time she chose you. 😻😻😻
Thanks for doing this review I've got a big shot which I don't use very often because it's too much effort to get it out set it up and move everything else out of the way. I've been thinking about getting the small one just for cutting little flowers etc for my journals and cards. I'm glad the cat is home safely and I agree with the lady who said she must be happy to live with you as she came home. Take care of yourselves 😸🤗

Hi Julie 😊 I had the Cuttlebug for years, but thought I just had to have the Big Shot Plus for my big dies and embossing folders.[ My Cuttlebug lives on with my niece (she loves it!)] I do love the Big Shot Plus, but oooof!!! it is a beast to use. It lives on my file cabinet across the room. It does a fantastic job, but I try to do a lot of die cutting at once so as to not haul it around getting Popeye arms 😉 After watching you with the Gemini Mini I have my eye on a Sizzix Sidekick... That is all the real estate I can eek out on my stuffed desk 😅 SOOOOOO glad Nala came home... Pretty cheeky of her to give you such a scare!! Blessings~~~
Hi Deb, glad you enjoyed the video love😊 Oh i've made some pretty poor purchasing decisions based on the must have, need now principle😅 I too love my big shot and i may have a cuttlebug tucked away under the desk😘 I got that when i started teaching craft classes as i liked how it folded away but i find it very hard to crank. Nala is a cheeky little miss but gorgeous with it. We get plenty of strokes now, but only on her terms. We'll make a lap cat out of her eventually😁🤗💜🐈

Glad the cat came back! My dad had her indoor cat get out and she was gone 7 days. She was under the house most of the time.!!! My dad passed in 2016 and now the cat lives with me. She's a sweetheart!! I am intrigued by your new die cutting machine. I have the Gemini Jr ( electronic ) and I was thinking as you did your review, I'd kinda like that machine! But then I realized I got the Jr because I have arthritis. I even got a great turn table so I don't have issues retrieving the sandwich from the back of the machine.❤ Got that idea from a crafter on line.❤ The Jr sits on my table and is great! We have 2 rescue kitty loves. The girl escapes and turns around o make we are following behind. I forgot and left to door open as I followed, and little boy walked out. We called and called. Found him 30 feet up in the Sycamore looking for birds and a squirrel he views from inside. Then he disappeared. Found him underneath the truck and running to the bush. By that time he had enough outdoor activity and let me pick him up. My, my that was a relief as I know you were with beautiful Nala. Hi to Nala from TinkTink and Moxer boy!
Hi Julie, I got the Mini after seeing you use yours. So much easier than lifting down my Big Shot from on top of my shelves. Glad Mis Nala came back, she obviously knows where her breads buttered.
I thought about the Gemini but decided in the big sixxix bc I wanted to do a lot at one time, but seeing that mid for smaller cuts, will be on my "buying" list. Thanks for sharing.
Oh man. Now I want one too. Lol. All I have to do is walk across the room to get to my vagabond, and it stays up all the time. There is no way I could lift it If it wasn’t. . Lol. But, it’s so cute! And it does such a nice job. I did start using a really fine mister with all of my embossing folders. They come out so much better than they did. And I have a flat catalogue sitting on the table to put the paper in, and it turns out perfectly straight. It’s made my life easier. And I’m all about easier. You did a great job on this video. Hi , Julie! I hate dragging out my bigger die cut machine too. Will have to look at this for a future gift from my kids. I bought a mini paper trimmer for that same reason. It is so handy and convenient for all my smaller needs. Fyi… you shouldn’t your paper all the way to the edge of the embossing folder…leave a tiny gap. You wont get those bubbles.
Hi, Julie, i have just watched this video, and went ahead and bought this machine, it looks great, i did have a big shot one, but hardly ever used it, so thanks for the instruction on this ,i am sure i will be able to handle that. I always like someone to show me , i ‘m not good at reading instructions. It would be interesting to know where your cat went for 3 hours, and what she actually did on her travels. I am pleased you got her back though. I laughed when you said about the look she gave you, my dog does the same thing, her looks sometimes tell me as well, anyway once again thanks for the video, it’s so much easier for me, and i can’t wait for my midi arrive to check it out. Extremely informative and interesting...I also have the big rectangle one that's a bit spacious. I like this smaller version, vertical. Thank you for showing all the different embossing folders that will work and the one that doesn't.

Love this machine even more now I realised you can use crafters companion double-sided die plates in it with the purple shim it's saves buying the folders that bow after a few goes through the machine
OMG i already have them😘 I use them with my Gemini Junior intead of all the shims that warp. But only when i'm feeling fit as the darn thing is soooo heavy. You're a star thank you☺️🤗💜
Naughty Nala! We were babysitting our daughters puppy while they were on holiday last week, and she disappeared on a walk, so I know exactly how you feel! We found her quite quickly but that was the longest few minutes, I can tell you! 😂 If I wasn’t already grey, that would’ve done it! 🤬
Right, they're worse than kids. Which reminds me of a time Rachel went missing in the supermarket. An announcement came over the tanoy asking Mrs Popples to go to customer services and it eventually clicked that she'd gone there and told them her name was rachi popples. Lucky that Nala knew how to get back home. Sometimes young cats get lost. I know what you mean about the Sissex big shot. I haul mine out and spend the day cutting and embossing.
It may have had something to do with the Hansel and Gretel like trail of cat litter I scattered outside🐈😘 I do the same too Jan, but sometimes I can't be bothered getting it out for a few things. Need to gear up and pass my big shot onto a more loving home now😁🤗💜

I'm gutted to see this. I was torn between the Gemini and the big shot and I chose the big shot. It's a great machine but it's so big and so heavy and the static, wow! Seeing this I'm wishing I'd gone for the Gemini midi for my card making dies, I'll certainly be picking up a mini though! Thank you for the video
Oh no Kerry. I know the feeling well though, i've bought a few different machines over the years and not had much use out of some. the big shot is still fabulous for the thicker metal rule dies which only work in some machines. the mini is great for the sentiment dies i find. 😊🤗💜
Hi! I just found your channel and your videos are great! I have the Midi and have found that the plastic sandwich warps and then my paper warps just like yours did in this video. Any suggestions on how to prevent the plastic sandwich from warping? Someone told me that they have to be replaced every other month. What are your thoughts?
Hi Janet, welcome to the channel love☺️ Yes they really do warp, but it doesn't seem to affect how well they cut. I did try the trick of soaking them in hot water for my little mini ones and they did straighten out quite a bit, but then warped again with use. Anyway my midi one is still going strong for the amount i use it. I'll show it on a future video☺️🤗💜
I like this. I'm putting this on my 2024 purchase buy. Julie .. I went no buy for books or puzzles in 2023 and will be the same for 2024. I have too many. Then I found journaling lolol So, I don't have dies or embossing stuff ... 2024. But I have stickers and 6x6 papers, etc. I don't have very many of the card stock. It never ends. I don't want stuff older than your kids lolol.
I am a bit of I die cut machine addict. My justification used to be for card making classes I taught,now it's because time is money and so I need to save time. I think I may have saved more time that I have available for the next ten years😅 But seriously it's easy to want everything, just remember alot of us RUclipsrs are using things we have purchased over many years. My plate warped the first day using it according to directions with a paper thin die. The cuts are great but the folder is not - at least for warping. Any recommendations?
Hi Shalonda, I'm afraid these plates do warp as do alot of plates. However, even when warped these still cut perfectly for me and I'm able to keep the dies where I want them. At around 6:40 I show you my warped plated from my smaller machine. If you soak them in hot water and place under something heavy, they will straighten out a little. Hope that helps love☺️🤗💜
22:15 I'm not sure who did a video on it, but I've seen someone lightly spritz some card, put it into one of those thicker folders, and roll over it with a rolling pin (nice and evenly, a few times with constant pressure) and the embossing seemed to work.
@@CameliaCraftsDesigns Must use those Tim Holtz 3-D folders. After all, you had to sell one of the kids to buy it. (joke)😉😉 P.S. Love the Tim Holtz stuff; I'm just jealous because I can't afford any of it; cat vet bill. Now there's a business I should have gone into...
I was going to say 'yes, it should do' but then i thought, give it a whirl? So now i can say 'yes it does work with the midi'😁 I stuck some lightweight cotton to a piece of 160gsm cardstock and it worked like a dream. Thanks for reminding me of the technique. I'd seen it done but hadn't tried it before. hope that helps😊🤗💜
Hi Tina, i just tried it and it worked beautifully with one pass. I'll show the die cut on todays video. The only concern i'd have is wether it would still cut them well when the folder is warped. i'll keep updating as they wear😊🤗💜
Noooo you need a warning on these videos x guess what’s sprung to the top of my list x I love my sidekick for the same reason but I want something bigger but not bulkier I have my Gemini jnr which I love but again I still need to yank it out and plates plural x this is so much simpler x thank you x
😘 I blame you lot (my lovely subbies) A few people asked me what i thought of the midi and it accidentally fell in my Amazon basket and arrived later the same day. Now i have the kids moaning they have to eat bread and drink water. Their clogs are proving troublesome in the hot weather too.😘🤣😁🤗💜
I would never buy another Gemini machine. A few years ago, I bought the large electric machine. It broke, ruined, and warped every die and embossing folder I put through it. It's absolute junk. My contacts to the company rendered no help. My Sizzix Switch treats all my dies, etc., perfectly!

Hi Julie 😊 I had the Cuttlebug for years, but thought I just had to have the Big Shot Plus for my big dies and embossing folders.[ My Cuttlebug lives on with my niece (she loves it!)] I do love the Big Shot Plus, but oooof!!! it is a beast to use. It lives on my file cabinet across the room. It does a fantastic job, but I try to do a lot of die cutting at once so as to not haul it around getting Popeye arms 😉 After watching you with the Gemini Mini I have my eye on a Sizzix Sidekick... That is all the real estate I can eek out on my stuffed desk 😅

I too love my big shot and i may have a cuttlebug tucked away under the desk😘 I got that when i started teaching craft classes as i liked how it folded away but i find it very hard to crank.
Nala is a cheeky little miss but gorgeous with it. We get plenty of strokes now, but only on her terms. We'll make a lap cat out of her eventually😁🤗💜🐈

I am intrigued by your new die cutting machine. I have the Gemini Jr ( electronic ) and I was thinking as you did your review, I'd kinda like that machine! But then I realized I got the Jr because I have arthritis. I even got a great turn table so I don't have issues retrieving the sandwich from the back of the machine.❤ Got that idea from a crafter on line.❤ The Jr sits on my table and is great! But the Midi would be great too if I 😂could crank. Thanks for your review!!!

We have 2 rescue kitty loves. The girl escapes and turns around o make we are following behind. I forgot and left to door open as I followed, and little boy walked out. We called and called. Found him 30 feet up in the Sycamore looking for birds and a squirrel he views from inside. Then he disappeared. Found him underneath the truck and running to the bush. By that time he had enough outdoor activity and let me pick him up. My, my that was a relief as I know you were with beautiful Nala. Hi to Nala from TinkTink and Moxer boy!

Oh man. Now I want one too. Lol. All I have to do is walk across the room to get to my vagabond, and it stays up all the time. There is no way I could lift it If it wasn’t. . Lol. But, it’s so cute! And it does such a nice job. I did start using a really fine mister with all of my embossing folders. They come out so much better than they did. And I have a flat catalogue sitting on the table to put the paper in, and it turns out perfectly straight. It’s made my life easier. And I’m all about easier. You did a great job on this video. You covered everything. Let’s hope that sweet little Nala will get her mental health back, sorry that she is a bit mad. Lol. Hugs, treen 💕💕💕

Hi , Julie! I hate dragging out my bigger die cut machine too. Will have to look at this for a future gift from my kids. I bought a mini paper trimmer for that same reason. It is so handy and convenient for all my smaller needs. Fyi… you shouldn’t your paper all the way to the edge of the embossing folder…leave a tiny gap. You wont get those bubbles.
Hi, Julie, i have just watched this video, and went ahead and bought this machine, it looks great, i did have a big shot one, but hardly ever used it, so thanks for the instruction on this ,i am sure i will be able to handle that. I always like someone to show me , i ‘m not good at reading instructions. It would be interesting to know where your cat went for 3 hours, and what she actually did on her travels. I am pleased you got her back though. I laughed when you said about the look she gave you, my dog does the same thing, her looks sometimes tell me as well, anyway once again thanks for the video, it’s so much easier for me, and i can’t wait for my midi arrive to check it out. Extremely informative and interesting...I also have the big rectangle one that's a bit spacious. I like this smaller version, vertical. Thank you for showing all the different embossing folders that will work and the one that doesn't.

Love this machine even more now I realised you can use crafters companion double-sided die plates in it with the purple shim it's saves buying the folders that bow after a few goes through the machine

Lucky that Nala knew how to get back home. Sometimes young cats get lost. I know what you mean about the Sissex big shot. I haul mine out and spend the day cutting and embossing.

My cat went missing for 4 nights, 3 days a few months back. We were so worried and had posters up everywhere. I'm gutted to see this. I was torn between the Gemini and the big shot and I chose the big shot. It's a great machine but it's so big and so heavy and the static, wow! Seeing this I'm wishing I'd gone for the Gemini midi for my card making dies, I'll certainly be picking up a mini though!

Oh no Kerry. I know the feeling well though, i've bought a few different machines over the years and not had much use out of some. the big shot is still fabulous for the thicker metal rule dies which only work in some machines.

Hi! I just found your channel and your videos are great! I have the Midi and have found that the plastic sandwich warps and then my paper warps just like yours did in this video. Any suggestions on how to prevent the plastic sandwich from warping? Someone told me that they have to be replaced every other month. What are your thoughts?

Yes they really do warp, but it doesn't seem to affect how well they cut. I did try the trick of soaking them in hot water for my little mini ones and they did straighten out quite a bit, but then warped again with use.
Anyway my midi one is still going strong for the amount i use it. I'll show it on a future video☺️🤗💜
I like this. I'm putting this on my 2024 purchase buy. Julie .. I went no buy for books or puzzles in 2023 and will be the same for 2024. I have too many. Then I found journaling lolol So, I don't have dies or embossing stuff ... 2024. But I have stickers and 6x6 papers, etc. I don't have very many of the card stock. It never ends. I don't want stuff older than your kids lolol.
I am a bit of I die cut machine addict. My justification used to be for card making classes I taught,now it's because time is money and so I need to save time. I think I may have saved more time that I have available for the next ten years😅
But seriously it's easy to want everything, just remember alot of us RUclipsrs are using things we have purchased over many years. So I admire your restraint love☺️🤗💜

My plate warped the first day using it according to directions with a paper thin die. The cuts are great but the folder is not - at least for warping. Any recommendations?
Hi Shalonda, I'm afraid these plates do warp as do alot of plates. However, even when warped these still cut perfectly for me and I'm able to keep the dies where I want them.
At around 6:40 I show you my warped plated from my smaller machine.
If you soak them in hot water and place under something heavy, they will straighten out a little.

22:15 I'm not sure who did a video on it, but I've seen someone lightly spritz some card, put it into one of those thicker folders, and roll over it with a rolling pin (nice and evenly, a few times with constant pressure) and the embossing seemed to work.

I stuck some lightweight cotton to a piece of 160gsm cardstock and it worked like a dream.

You can put.weight on your plate and warm up in a very low oven and your plate will be good as new.

😘 I blame you lot (my lovely subbies) A few people asked me what i thought of the midi and it accidentally fell in my Amazon basket and arrived later the same day. Now i have the kids moaning they have to eat bread and drink water. Their clogs are proving troublesome in the hot weather too.😘🤣😁🤗💜

I would never buy another Gemini machine. A few years ago, I bought the large electric machine. It broke, ruined, and warped every die and embossing folder I put through it. It's absolute junk. My contacts to the company rendered no help. My Sizzix Switch treats all my dies, etc., perfectly!
