    All four members of this band are brilliant and incredible geniuses. Freddie Mercury stood out more because he was the front man and had a voice that was god-given but the drummer was an excellent drummer in addition to having a fabulous voice and a lead singer for his band " the Cross". Roger Taylor always said that Queen was "Mother" & his band with the cross was just his side gig.
    Brian May has a beautiful warm sounding voice and one of the best guitar players in the world. John Deacon one of the best bass players in the world on top of writing Queens quadruple-platinum USA song that the band originally didn't even want to release or even put on the album. Michael Jackson talk to them into putting another one bites the dust out and releasing it. It went quadruple platinum in the USA! It was funky and had this beat that nobody could get tired of and that's what made it exceptionally popular.
    Four geniuses equal magic and this is the only band we're all four members had written top hit songs number ones!

      Who but Freddie could get away with rocking a multi colored cat shirt & make it appear as the perfect shirt for a video shoot,but unfortunately his last shoot?? To this day, I've always been more than just a little impressed and blown away by how quickly Queen completed their last album with Freddie considering how many of it's tracks were truly standout songs.What Freddie had to be thinking and going through personally, mentally & medically during his last few weeks/days while still pushing ahead as much as his body would allow,shows what dedication & love he had for his bandmates & fans alike.

    When I was in my teens I really went off for Queen, my parents, both born in the 20s never got it. Now that I'm in my 60s Queen is still the best music that ever came about in my lifetime. Thanks for this video. I knew Freddie as a "kind funny musical piano friend", walking the streets of Montreux together some evenings 1989-91. I was a young girl from Norway dedicated to studies/sports. He probably understood that I didn't know anything about him being "Freddie Mercury Queen". He was right. I had no idea. But he was a great person and friend to walk with and talk to.

    I be pretty much watched all u-tube material on Queen and for those who want to know the band and the private and public Freddie together in one piece, this is the one to watch.For me The biggest missing piece of the movie was Freddie’s wit, sense of humor, and that laugh! Loved his big belly laugh! I didn’t realize it until I couldn’t figure out what was missing. I thought not enough music. But no it was mostly there,some songs running as background for scenes, and than Peter Freestone said it on an interview. They left out his sense of humor. That’s it,I thought. Soo...this video really shows that important component of his personality!!! Thank you

    Hello Jennifer,
    One is simply called Freddie Mercury by Peter Freestone with David Evans an intimate memoir by the man who knew him best and the follow up book is called Freddie Mercury, what he left behind.
    I also read the Mercury and me, written by Jim Hutton his last partner. Although I enjoyed Jim's book, I preferred Peter's book. I can read it again the 3rd time!
    I am absolutely addicted to Freddie , I think I need intervention!
    I do not think anyone else can be incredibly charming and talented ever again! He is definitely a one-off .

    • @tatianaroveda
      @tatianaroveda 3 года назад +6

      Agreed. Sadly Jim Hutton was stealing from him while he was bedridden. He probably loved Freddie but that didn't stop him from his drinking and professing his loyalty. Freddie knew EVERYTHING going on in his house-despite being able to walk about...No one but Jim expected to stay at Garden Lodge except Jim Hutton. A grown man, they can fend for themselves, Freddie told Mary, give them 3 months to leave-their grown men. This is yours. And where he says he added the line " Gimme fried chicken" just makes me want to scream! Phoebe really was a dear friend to Freddie and understood why Mary said you have 3 months..❤ Talking about Freddie, I get alittle choked up..At first, Jim meant alot to Freddie. As the 3 year mark came along, he kept him around..the biggest mistake Jim made was try and get Freddie to stop seeing Mary Austin as much. Big mistake, Huge. #I'm addicted too#2021Freddie lives.

    If Freddie actually said that only Brian's songs had the high notes, he wasn't telling the truth. All of his own earlier songs had high notes, and lots OF them. No, the truth is more that as time passed, it got harder and harder for him to sing those high notes in concert, though he managed to get them done in the studio where he could just do them over if he needed to.

    • @carolyndanielson9584
      @carolyndanielson9584 2 года назад +3

      I think the tours were hard on Freddie's voice. He often got nodules in his throat. Giving his most powerful performance night after night surely took its toll, especially toward the end of the tours. When they were in the studio it was less taxing, I feel sure. He also didn't like to just copy the studio version of songs. He liked to change things up because live performance and studio performance are two very different things. He said otherwise you might as well just use cardboard stand-ins!

Wouldn't they think that his music would have been the best music to play. They really ruined this whole documentary. Could not see the whole thing. Freddy love you always.

      The Genius of Queen, I think, is that each of them were literally AND figuratively geniuses....Brian and Deeky both hold PhDs, and Roger is a dentist, while Freddie had a degree from art school. They weren't just a group of guys who got together and threw some words to music....they were all highly intelligent, and with four drastically different personalities, you were bound to create musical masterpieces

      @PensiveCzar - In 1973 I was 24. Saw Queen live in 1980 when I was 32. Do I count? Loved The Beatles and saw them in '64, '65 and '66 but loved Queen too. My parents were in their 60's in 1980 and liked both groups. Good music is good music at any age.

    I think that the main reason for the phenomenal music was very simple. These guys, all four, were absolutely brilliantly intelligent. Show me any other performer then and now that has one percent of the brain of Queen. Well, they all were well educated after all. Sorry about that Sid and Iggi.

      I played in a rock band in 1971 so we were always in tune with new music so before Queen was even know in the states I had bought there first album and have been a huge fan since. Always being a a major Beatles fan with there break up in 1970 Queen became my new favorite band. Saw there first US tour and continue to follow the new tours with Adam. Never get enough. Also wish John had stayed with band but I think with Freddie was gone he felt it would never be the same he is right in a way.
