In 1998 I was working as an EMT for MetroCare ambulance in Brooklyn and one night there was a train derailment in the subway in Brooklyn. A bunch of buses responded from the company. We got on scene and the Lt from EMS sent us to get patients. The first patient we walked towards was on a cell phone (rare back then). He looked up at us and said he was on the phone with his lawyer. Me and my partner exchanged glances and noped on out towards another patient.

Tremendous Response of Resources and Manpower by the FDNY on this Incident !

I’m surprised that no MTA officials were at the command post coordinating with FDNY. You would think such an incident would require MTA to collaborate with FDNY.

Including Hart ( hazard area response team essentially haz tac ) and a couple advanced trauma teams from the air ambulance. I testing to see how this was

The man on the command post said something about one train derailing and the other train running into it. I’m assuming from something that was said that the second train ran into the side of the first train. I’m sure the media will somewhat clear things up although they don’t always get things right.😊 They just had a report that said one train was on the local track and one was on the express track.
