I think the rock era teached her how to properly mix to reach those extreme high notes consistently, BUT it damaged her resonance and her pitch. In this performance she's much better pitch wise and her tone is also more pleasant, AND she's still reaching the high notes??? I can't ask for more ❤
She didn't seem to have that much ease in the notes above G5 for this concert (she went to a headier mix for them). Still, I'll take this tone even if it means getting less upper belts
I was there! It was an amazing show! She sounds even better live that on those recordings! She also sang “Anyone” live again and I think it was the best rendition of the song ever, the Eb5 was supported and the F#5 sounded so good. I have video of all her climax of the songs in the setlist if you want it!
It reminds me too much of the 2015 tone, with less strain in the upper belts obviously. I find this tone too much better than the thin tone from the last two years
Demi’s voice very obviously appears to be the healthiest it’s ever been. Her notes are resonant and supported, and the speed of her vibrato is very healthy. But I have a few critiques about the way she belts and places her vibrato throughout her songs. In the pop music world today it is very hard for pop sopranos to belt above g5 and have it sound appealing. I remember when Ariana Grande released problem a lot of people were making fun of how she sounded like a cat because of how much she was belting and holding out that G#5 in the song. She has since tackled this issue by now only quickly belting on notes higher than G5 and she very rarely holds them out or adds vibrato to them, due to how screechy and whiny belts up their typically sound. When Demi belts past G5 I believe she should incorporate the same methodology that Ariana is using. I also have noticed that even though Demi’s vibrato is so healthy, she places it in wierd parts of the melody, and holds on to the note for to long. I believe that vibrato in pop music should be at the very end of the note or phrase or placed in notes that are very short in the song. If not it starts to get annoying. I also notice how when she uses her vibrato she’ll hold on to the note and change pitch. This makes her sound like she’s singing off key or going flat. It’s like she’s using vibrato while singing a glissando. All in all, I love Demi’s voice and enjoy seeing how she’s progressed since she was a child. She’s still one of my top 10 favorite singers and I know in my heart that she will soon be able to fix these minor issues that she’s having with her voice. One thing I’ve learned about Demi, is that she only gets better and better with more time.
i completely agree with you. i love demi but her vibrato sounds off pitch. her vibrato almost sounds like it was fully replaced with twang. its not pleasant at all. Her unbroken era is her most aesthetically pleasing vocal tone.
@@luchats Unbroken was kinda thin half of the time above E5 until summer 2012 (How to Love in Camdem, Springfield, del Mar) Z100 performance of ETYL was great in late 2011 tho (The best until when she started with the remix). Imo her best tone was when she was recoding the Demi album until the first dates of the tour, where her voice changed until the Confident tone (which is the second best ever, third best is Holy Fvck until nowdays with the ups and downs which reminds me of a more mature version of HWGA)
@@thislovesposessingme late reply but. I don't think she is bad. I just think she tries to Beyonce or Xtina it to much, she needs to find her own style.
Ok don't come for me coz I've been a big big big lovatic all my life. Demi is the only one i stan. But. But. At this point, it just doesn't feel pleasant to my ears anymore when she sings live idk why. Especially when she "belts". Yes you can say she's hitting those notes, but idk man there's no ...tone, there's no resonance, it's very screechy and i grit my teeth so hard when I hear her belt coz I love her so much. But I cannot deny when non-lovatics say she yells. I feel like that's one of the reasons why many people are indifferent to her coz whenever she sings, she's yelling. Its kinda sarcastic but hey it's true man. just wish she didn't have to belt in all her songs. The funny thing is on her official studio tracks, her belts sound phenomenal. Obviously coz it's been mixed and edited. don't get me wrong. her new runs in Anyone were so agile and smooth. i just wish she tried softening her voice a little bit. like here's an example. when you hear a concert happening in the distance and you hear Demi belt, people who don't know her are gonna say "damn who's that screaming"? But when you hear Xtine belting in the distance, people are gonna say "Damn who is that🔥?" yk what i mean?
@@maverickkk9163 I don't agree at all with you, SPECIALLY now that her tone and her resonance are back. If you said this a few months ago I would have agreed to some extent, but regarding these performances in Mexico not at all.

she mastered her mixed voice but now she thinks she can just put out bb5s and c6s anywhere. placement is odd. I love the she can sing higher more easily but her tone and agility has regressed. ugh back to 2020.
Geez. She’s technically okay but her tone is terrible. She sounds like she’s screaming. Who cares if she can hit the notes if she doesn’t sound good? Her vibrato is super sharp and aggressive and her runs have WAY too much jaw movement that it sounds horrible. I don’t understand how one could prefer her over vocalists like Ariana Grande.
yeah her tone is horrible right now. Ariana has been taking lessons forever while Demi stopped taking lessons after Disney. her overdose doesn't help at all. but some people like her voice over Ariana because her voice has more weight. to each their own I guess. I personally love both.

well one G#5... the note before the first Bb5 was an A5

It sounds less nasally and thinly, and more bodied
Her tone suits pop better, i’m sure of that

I disagree, I think their voice is perfect for pop, rock, and rnb
