It grows on you. I’ll be honest Tim, when I first heard even Tommy’s arrangement, it just didn’t resonate with me. I guess I just have such a reverence for the actual song (everything about it), I just thought, “no Tommy- just don’t “. BUT, the more I listened, the more I gave it a chance, the more I saw Tommy’s expression and what the song it means to HIM. As it turns out, it is one of the best guitar arrangements of this song I’ve ever heard, and your cover of it is no less amazing. Well played Tim, so well played…and I hope it blesses you to play it as it is for me to listen. Way to take us to church man!
Tim, you amaze me time and time again. I played professionally for nearly 40 years and heard a lot of guitar players in my travels so, I know a good one when I hear one. You put a big smile on my face. So happy I found your channel!
Thank you for your nice comments! This channel started as a side project during the Covid lockdowns but it is slowly turning into something else. And I couldn't be happier with that slow but steady growth. My own website will be launched in the coming months, and it is going to take things to the next (logical) level.
It is gorgeous. I watched and listened with mixed feelings though! Few countries don't have access to international payments and I happen to be in one of them(Iran). Guess I have to find a way. Bless
@@TimVanRoy ohh dear brother can't say how much grateful I feel. Even if it doesn't work, your intentions and generosity are just moving 🧡🧡 Let me send message 😀
Greetings Tim. This is definitely a beautiful arrangement of an old gospel hymn. Have you ever considered some of Doyle Dykes hymns? Thought this may open up another variety of your lessons. Thanks. God Bless you brother.
Hi Chad! Mr. Dykes was my idol before Tommy hit the scene! So yes, there are Doyle Dykes songs in the pipeline too. But, being European, I’m less familiar with the hymns. Any suggestions on that front?
@@TimVanRoy Thanks for replying. And, thank you for asking. One hymn that everyone may enjoy is his arrangement of How Great Thou Art. It shows a wide variety of techniques that viewers may find interesting as well. One version is this one: “After The Show”: A MOVING Solo of “How Great Thou Art” By Doyle Dykes. But, anything that you instruct in the future is always great. I’m browsing your different levels of Patreon now. Looking forward to learning more. God Bless you brother Tim.
Great!! Hey I have a question, why are you posting you playing this on a closeup? I know i can learn this by seeing your fingers, like a lot of players, wont that kill your market? Anyways, i love your content, keep playing !!!
Good point, Sambuddha! Maybe I was a bit too generous with the close-up takes in this video, but that is mostly to destract you from my extreme concentration face 😁 And if anyone can work this out by just looking at the video, I hope they use Tommy's (aka the "real one") video!
This one is a Martin J-40! It sounds a bit different than usual, because of the lower tuning (down to C# across the guitar). It's the acoustic guitar that has been with me the longest!
I m in between beginner and intermediate. So will it be best for me to be a patreon of yours, so that I can learn more ahead here, plz guide me. Coz internet is a library but which book or lesson should I go for only a teacher can guide. So plz guide me. And Yes I covered Sunga Jung's Nostalgia
Hey Gouri, if you're on Patreon then look up "Roadmap" in the search field! I have made a rough order in which I think you can learn the TE songs. I do have to update the file with the most recent additions though, but what is already in there will still be useful!
Hi Gouri! No, if you pay €3 you get access to the whole archive (this lesson and every other lesson I ever did). But make sure you wait until the start of next month. Patreon always charges you on the 1st of each month, so if you sign up now you will be charged again in a week or two!
This guitar was strung with 13s, but in a lower tuning. Otherwise those bends would rip your fingers apart! I do give a few alternatives in the tutorials if these bends don't work out...
I dont know if it matters but it says "demaning" instead of demanding at 0:47
Aw crap, thanks for pointing that out! I always double check, but sometimes these typos still slip through…
only 18 thousand views, this deserves so much more!!!

I’m a simple man: I see Tim’s new video - I give it a thumb-up🙂

Amazing! you actually look like young Tommy Emmanuel! 😄
Grande TIM! Always the best!
Thanks Fabio! It's still quite a bit removed from Tommy's version, but I really appreciate the compliment!
It is gorgeous. I watched and listened with mixed feelings though! Few countries don't have access to international payments and I happen to be in one of them(Iran). Guess I have to find a way. Bless
Maybe send me a quick message through my website. I'll see if I can work something out to give you access...

Woahh just exceptional🤑🤑🤑
Been waiting a while for this one. Also what is the other acoustic guitar you use Tim?
This one is a Martin J-40! It sounds a bit different than usual, because of the lower tuning (down to C# across the guitar). It's the acoustic guitar that has been with me the longest!
What's next Tim , I like this too
Next up is The Beatles Medley and Guitar Boogie. And before that quite possibly a huge anxiety attack or two 🤣

Que melodia maravilhosa
Gracias!
Mantap!!! 🙏👍👌💟
One of my fav tommy emmanual's arrangements
I want to learn it.
Will I have to pay 3 euro for each part ??
I m from India

Waiting for the tutorial....
I'm still waiting for the license to clear. Once that happens you can get started right away!
Now i am hungry 🤤
🤣😂
Those bends... what gauge strings are these? 11s?
This guitar was strung with 13s, but in a lower tuning. Otherwise those bends would rip your fingers apart! I do give a few alternatives in the tutorials if these bends don't work out...
@@TimVanRoy Lol my wrist is inflamed from practicing the pinky bends in your windy&warm tut (thanks btw.!), these would kill me I guess
different tuning
It's standard tuning but down to C# (so down 3 steps)...
great job! but this gorgeous martin isnt good enough for fingerstyle(
It’s probably the low tuning that makes it sound a little less clear than usual. The whole guitar is tuned down to C#!
