Thanks for the video. I have fuel supply issues continuously with this model mower. I think the suggestion to cut the pickup tube slightly is a great idea. I have just been blowing air back into the tank to remove the clog, but that is a hack.
This is probably what's wrong with mine, started chugging when I turned the throttle down where it could barely idle when I had to hop off it, replaced spark plugs and air filter (especially since I had a mouse get under the airlifter housing and have a few pups. Was able to drive it a little bit but when I put the deck down to 2.5" on maybe some 4 or 5" grass it started to bog down and stall, I turned the blades off to check out what was going on and now I can't turn the blades back on without it stalling. Going to check my tank and tube tonight, then I'm going to check my carb and governor. I had a lot of grass build up that my hose wasn't getting but I picked up an air compressor and plan to blow it off from now on. Thanks for the video, probably just saved me quite a bit of money.
I solved my electrical problem, "by using deductive reasoning". This was after I requested help in my post below. It had blown 2, 20 amp fuses. While sitting in the seat I moved the lap bars out to braked position, when I did I felt a light electrical shock on the left side. This could only mean one thing, somewhere I have a naked wire going (shorting) to the frame, hence the shock I felt. I found a mouse had chewed off the insulation on a wire and it was touching the metal frame. This was after I replaced the PTO switch & both interlock safety switches. Just wanted to post this in case others have similar problems.
My ZT1 is doing exactly the same thing right now. Will look at this. I changed spark plugs, oil and filter, put Seafoam thru the intake to clean deposits, new fuel filter, new air filter and still does the same thing. So surely it’s trash in carb or this that is the problem. It acts like the Governor is not even kicking in under load. This was very informative and something else to look at Thank you
I bought the same mower two years ago and had no problem trash in the tank. But I make sure I use clean gas containers. I think some people just don't care what they use. Or they do it on purpose.
If he has children like my brothers they probably add the stuff to help fill the tank. My brothers added sand to the tractor tank and filled the car gas pipe to the brim with gravel. I suspect that or he left the cap off or as others mentioned someone added the crap on purpose. Anyway, thanks for the video and alerting us to a potential problem .. Thanks for the video. Stay safe
thank you same issue with a zt1-50 with a kawasaki , zero crude in the tank yet the oem filter by 50 hours had become restricted to where gas failed to go through it, nothing in to be found in the tank, just a breakdown inside the filter, replace it and back to normal
@@CHarris73, I think that may happen because the hydraulic pumps are engaged before you engage the deck… have the driving handles spread apart, in the brake position, when you engage the deck…, then once engaged, then pull the handles away from the brake position and drive forward…
Im having the same issues, when I throttle up to above 1/2 way mower will bog down and stall. Run it at below 1/2 way mower runs fine. Any attempt to cut anything higher will cause mower to shut down
I have this exact mower, just bought it new from TSC. Has less than 5 hours on it, just past the 30 day return, bogs down when you engage the PTO and almost dies even in short grass. TSC says not our problem and Cud Cadet says I should take it back to TSC. Got a 4k dollar paper weight.
Have a 2018 RZT S and the feul cap works loose when mowing and have had to clean tank in past (haven'tchecked pickup tube...). Am constantly checking it when mowing. Even replaced tank gas cap but same issue. Need to design a locking tab similar to gas can cap but haven't got round to it yet.
I have been working on this mower for 3 weeks now and I’m pulling my hair out… I’ve cleaned all the hoses I’ve changed spark plugs, carb change and clean, also cleaned the gas tank out. It keeps fouling plugs, oil is black dark black… I wish I could have someone help me with this, but it’s always guessing with the forums online with others
Does the man that owns the mower have kids. My cousin worked on a moped for me and had it running good. A few days later I rode it home. it quit about 3/4 of a mile after I left. His brothers kids had put sand in the gas tank. I cleaned out the filter a few times on the way home but it never ran quite as well as at did the first 3/4 mile before the sand got in the filter. I changed the filter and flushed the tank. Even cleaned the carb but it never was the same.
Hello sir I have a different kind of problem I need help with I bought a underwater ROV drone "CHASING GLADIUS MINI" and my son broke the 50m tether/cord off the WiFi box so I stripped it and found a black and white wire in it surrounded by Kevlar material, that tether/cord needs to be somehow connected to a 4 prong connector, I opened up that WiFi communication box and it has red(L), black(N), yellow(BAT) and blue(GND) wires not sure how to reconnect this?
Hi, I just bought my Cub cadet Zt1 54in at local Tractor Supply Company (TSC) in Mckiney Texas last week 8/15/2020 for $ 3355.74 and I noticed it's acting very strange after 2nd use yesterday. It lost cutting power at high speed setting (the rabbit symbol). You can hear the engine sound wanted to die out and the cutted-grasses did not shoot out the right EXIT side strong as it suppose to. At first, I thought I ran out of gas ( b/c there is no gas gauge indicator equipped on this model). I stopped the mower, let it rest while I checked gas level which (which is still full with fresh gas), I then checked oil level and it was was full!!! I restarted the mower and resume mowing but after few minutes, it acted up again when I heard the engine was not humming like it is suppose to. I immediately stopped the mower and set mowing speed to TURTLE sign for SLOW, then the mower perform okay again at this power speed. Please note, I am very quality conscious with every equipment I've been ever owned and this Cub cadet ZT1 54in is one of my biggest quality concern after 2 simple runs (less than 45 minutes per run). Do you think, I can return this machine for the TORO ( much for expensive but more reliable)? 2) 2nd problem I had yesterday was the LEFT Tire got flat! My land has no metal debris and/or sharp objects to punch the the tire. For this problem, I really don't have a clue of the root cause. Please sugguest what should i do, Appreciate your help

Mine surges and bogs down with the pto on, I just did new air filter, spark plugs, oil change, fuel filter, I just switched to ethanol gas and it runs like dog shit now. Guess the carb is plugged?
Hey double.....i wanna take the bowl off my ZT1 54 carb, but i can not get a wrench in there to get to that two sided nut. I wantto clean the jets and take a look at the float and make sure its all good....can you advise what you use, to get that bowl off??
Thanks for your video, very clear RE the trash in fuel tank. I have an electrical problem on the exact same model ZT 1 54". My engine starts and runs smooth, BUT, when I pull up the PTO or pull in either lap bar the engine starts to die, will recover if I quickly push down PTO or push out the lap bars (either one, or both). The following is what I have done to date. (1) Replaced PTO switch. (2) replaced both safety interlock switches. ( 3) Disconnected clip connector at the Mag clutch to isolate from system. (4) checked olms resistance on clutch, got about 3.2, but not a factor if disconnected. Haven't checked solenoid, that's only for cranking, Right? I'm thinking I must have a short somewhere that only kills the engine when PTO or lap bars are engaged. Can you help me? My wife's got me locked out of the house until I get the lawn mowed. Thanks
Just experienced this same issue while mowing. It died when the blades were engaged. I was able to restart, but it wanted to die when the lap bars were raised. I raised the seat and checked some connections under there. After a few minutes I was able to get it working again, but I don't know what the issue was or how it was corrected. It's been fine ever since.
Not this same model, but I get pine needles in mine all the time. It's a very poor design by cub cadet, in that if you mow adjacent to bushes or pine trees, as you drive by a springy limb will catch on the gas cap that sticks up above the rest of the mower, and literally unscrew your gas cap as you drive by. Next thing you know, you've been mowing for five minutes with your gas cap dangling. The cap should be on the rear, on the right (so branches tighten it instead of unscrewing it), or have a shield to guard it. Very poor design.
I am having nonstop starting issues on this mower replaced starter solenoid & fuel filter it’s started for a few days. Now it’s back to the same thing it’s turning over but not starting. Any pointers guys?
I'm running into the same issue. Brand new zt1. I have like .75 of an acre and no joke my machine will stall out around 5 times during a mow. I call the distributor on my first mow, they said it could be a safety switch that is still new and rigid so give it a little time. I'm now almost done with my 3rd mow (have only had it 3 weeks) and it's still stalling 5 times per mow. Of course cud cadet doesn't have customer service hours on weekends so I'm left here without help. It runs great on a cold start for like 20 mins then once it warms up it shuts off after 5 mins or so, I end up sitting on the mower for like 5 mins to let it cool then it will start again. I'll be honest, I love the way it cuts but I need to find a solution or I'm going to have to return this thing. A push mower would take me less time at this point.
@@shannonp4037 turns out there was a faulty part from the factory like 1/50 Cub Cadets have it and the shop was finally able to replicate the issue. I told them I'd pay their mechanic to mow my lawn until it happened because they didn't believe me that it would stall haha. Has been perfect since!
There is no way in hell that big of a leaf got sucked up in that tank with the gas cap on tell they owner to put the gas cap back on when they get done filling up lol 😂🤣😂🤪

We have that same mower. I wonder if he drove it around with the tank cap dangling and leaves got in that way. Maybe when mulching them?

Take it right back to TS. They should take it back if the engine is not running properly.

HONESTLY, SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE ONE WITH THE KAWASAKI ENGINE
only 30 hrs on it customer should took it back to the dealer for warnaty you doing it is voiding all tht unless you can d waranty fixes
Leaves in the fuel tank is probably would not be covered by warranty anyway.
my GUESS is either someone doesn't like him, OR he uses a dirty funnel. I guess ye could have left the gas tank off once, but that seems unlikely.
