Holy life means obedience to the laws and commandments of God. They are written in the Law of Moses, Books of the Prophets and Testimony of the Lord Jesus. Whoever does it is worshipping God in Spirit and in truth. Christmas, thanksgiving, new year, birthday, and all celebrations are called pagan celebrations or statutes of the nations. The Lord God said He abhors pagans for dishonoring His laws and commandments. They follow their own cultures and traditions and forget the holy celebrations of God as the Sabbath, Passover, and Feast of Tabernacle. So He destroys them for committing such thing.
Leviticus 18
Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments.
Leviticus 20:23
And you shall not walk in the statutes of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they commit all these things, and therefore I abhor them.

Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them. For the customs of the peoples futile; For he cuts a tree from the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They decorate it with silver and gold;
