For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments.
Leviticus 20:23
And you shall not walk in the statutes of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they commit all these things, and therefore I abhor them.
Jeremiah 10
Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them. For the customs of the peoples futile; For he cuts a tree from the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They decorate it with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers so that it will not topple. They upright, like a palm tree, and they cannot speak;
