i have had a theory about this sorta subject that maybe each digimon has a unique serial number inside their code that's unique to them and other digimon can subconsciously recognize when that digimon is being addressed. its a bit of a reach but i don't see it as impossible since, remember that these are sapient computer programs that are communicating with each other in a digital environment so there might be some specific internal code running in the background when they do talk.
If I can add onto the point about the ‘species vs individual’ thing: it’s worth noting that mega level Digimon are very rare. That’s why they’re the go to example for when a species is an individual. This may sound strange given how many Mega Digimon are on record, but that’s the thing: there’s so few Digimon who reach Mega and many Mega Digimon they could be that a shape might only be taken once. Ever. And even when they don’t, it’ll be pretty close. There could be whole tribes of Impmon in every other corner of the digital world, but the number of Beelzemon to have ever existed is likely countable on one hand.
Absolutely correct! I was saving it for a video on the different stages of life for digimon but most digimon will never pass champion or even rookie so ultimate and mega digimon are very rare! However for the purposes of Digi-ecology lessons I have to explain what some mega's roles are in the digital world WOULD be were the sole extant example not in a specific group. Just in case.
While you have a point there, the example of beelzemon is a poor one cause the demon lord beelzemon is, according to lore (along with the other demon lords), simultaneously existing in all digital worlds, and what we see is an avatar digimon projected from Cocytus, the core of the Dark Area. Now, if that should be counted, since avatars can be argued to not be a seperate entity, is another argument. A better example would have been WarGreymon. Most people will think of Adventure 01, but there's also Applimon, Liberators, the World games, the DS games, V-tamer 01 (not to be confused with New Courage), and so many more. Omegamon/Omnimon is also a great example. there's the Our War Game version, but most people think of the Royal Knights one now. Then there's V-tamers 01, and Cyber Sleuth as well.
@@lanereynolds4567 Cocytus isn't the core of the Dark Area, Digimon isn't exactly operating on Dante Alighieri logic here. It's only connected to all the Dark Areas in the multiverse but it's not actually part of them. I guess that also makes it stand apart from the original Greek river too...
it should be noted that sometimes Digimon give themselves more traditional names (V_Tamer's Gabumon and Gomamon that helped Taichi out had proper names)
I've always called any typical Agumon line I use Agi. There's probably some deeper meaning it has to fire, but I just know it as the basic fire spell from Persona/Shin Magami series
I would love to have the twin digimon Lopmon n terriermon. But going into the angel and demon evolution lines. Lopmons nickname would be Shiva. Terriermons nickname would be Yue.
The digimon that feel the most incredible draw to is wizardmon and my oc is named allium Also i got mad called out i do be wanting unplatonic things with beelzemon *cough cough* my oc total isnt dating their wizardmon who's mega is beelzemon heh heh ah
Siesamon is a Chinese guardian lion (they spread across Asia mind) and Caturamon is a deva of Indian myth (which was also spread across Asia) so they're not really that closely related. It's like saying Chinese Guardian Lions are related to bakeneko.
@@screechingtoad2683 Oh wait right I forgot, the devas in terms of animal choice were based on the Chinese zodiac but the term "deva" is from Indian mythology. This is also why they work for the Digimon Sovereigns as the Sovereigns are the "Four Symbols" of Chinese constellations. Although, I have no idea if a connection between the two groups of constellations actually exists in Chinese myth. Also there is no such word as "siisaa" and "shisa" is Japanese for Chinese guardian lion.
@@screechingtoad2683 To be clear canturamon is based on the dog constellation of the Chinese Zodiac but Chinese guardian lions are often considered to be part dog. Just look at Entei and Arcanine for example. Entei is the legendary Pokemon Arcanine was meant to be in the first episode of the Pokemon anime -(even though Entei didn't exist yet)- lol.
I gave my tyranomon the nickname name of Tyra because it’s actually fits her and intrstingot we found a cool programme that turnd her into bioa tyrannomon . Bio a being biologically accurate tyrannomon . Now she’s a mega level digimon and is vary kind loyal and now has some how gone from data to full flesh and blood . No really she tremsemded being a digimon and become a digimusu

Do Digimon have serial numbers, bar codes, or anything like that?
Speaking of labramon, I think seisamon can digigvolve to caturamon. They are both based on similar (but different) things from east Asian folklore
Siesamon is a Chinese guardian lion (they spread across Asia mind) and Caturamon is a deva of Indian myth (which was also spread across Asia) so they're not really that closely related. It's like saying Chinese Guardian Lions are related to bakeneko.
@mattwo7 I thought seasarmon was of korean origin and caturamon was based off the lion-dog things infront of Chinese palaces
@mattwo7 seasarmon is inspired by the siisaa, and canturamon is inspired by the shisa
