    GURPS needs more love, the freedom of the system is unmatched.

    Everything Aaron Allston touched is gold, and Harkwood is one of the best. I think it would make a great change of pace for some of the newer 'dungon crawler' games (Shadowdark, DCC, Dragonsbane) as a palate clenser from delving, or a stepping stone to Companion level in BECMI.

      What's another favorite Allston adventure of yours?

      @@1ShotJC Skardas mirror holds up pretty well...Strike Force for Champions is great and really, Grand Duchy of Karimikos(sp?) Set the bar for both BECMI in general, and regional sourcebooks in any game.

    Another very interesting adventure I've never heard of! Sounds like like it would be easy to port over to another system as well. For $4 I think I will add to my list. Your reviews are insightful and entertaining! Love the foreshadow in this one LoL.

    I would argue that an underground prison is the definition of a dungeon.

      @1ShotJC  Год назад +3

      Hahaha true - but was thinking a D&D style dungeon

    Slight correction: the elves didn't call their spell the Banestorm, that's what the hugely lethal explosive cockup result got called. :P

    • @1ShotJC
      @1ShotJC  Год назад +1

      Hahaha yes. I’m pretty sure their name for it was a string of swear words.

      @@1ShotJC Of course! For the survivors. But they called the planned spell some high-flying name that probably 'The Greatest Of Work Occasioning The Bane Of All Orcs!'.
      [rolls 18 on the final ritual cast, then another to get the critical result] "Um..." [gets what they asked for, but not how]

    I've run this one, was good. Been running a Banestorm game for long enough one of my players was born after it started and is an adult.

      Definitely - there's little to no magic or weirdness that prevent it from working in a medieval era
