Enjoyed the video Eric. I'm always excited to see who is going to be strong in a new season and with the new car, I feel someone is going to shine that maybe you didn't have in your top 5. I wouldn't have ranked Harvick as high and I would have Kyle Busch at Number 2 even though last year wasn't his best. I agree with Larson being on top but I would move Truex out of the top 5 and move Chase in. Yes I'm biased since I'm an Elliott fan.
Eric have you noticed how much better the cars sound at Daytona vs out in LA. Although being there in person you may have a different opinion. For those of us watching on tv I wasn't impressed with the way they sounded out in LA. Daytona sounds wonderful!
I do agree that Larson had one of the best cars each week last year. We have to remember that 5 car was the 48 the year before. With the same crew and crew chief that Jimmie Johnson couldn’t even make the playoffs with.
I just have a feeling Kyle Busch will be a beast this year. And take practice with a grain of salt but McDowell was one of if not the fastest cars at the Daytona practice today.
Kyle Larson by far is the current GOAT. I immediately became a fan of his when he joined Hendrick. Man it’s even sweeter to hear that he’s gonna do the 1,100 miles during Memorial Day weekend both the Indy 500 and the Coca Cola 600. Kurt Busch just fell short on that quest maybe Larson can complete that. By the way is Jimmie Johnson gonna do the Indy 500?
I'm glad you put Harvick at 2. Yeah winless, it sucks, but compare his teammates, a 5th place finish with no wins, *NO STAGE WINS* , I mean that is just friggin' incredible with how much NASCAR emphasizes winning.
Chase deserves to be higher than KB after two straight champ four appearances and KN having none. Even in 2019 when KB won the champ, he only had two more wins than him whereas the last two years chase has had 4 more wins
Hey Eric I was wondering if you remember were you got your nascar track for stop motion because I’m getting in to nascar stop motion but I can’t find and good track
I understand that Bowmans 2021 wasn’t the greatest aside from his 4 wins.. but if your going to look at everyone else’s previous years you need to look at his. His 2020 was the most underrated season of anyone that year.. I think you’re close to where he should be placed, but I think he’s definitely better than Cristopher Bell. Also think Keslowski is a little high
See for me it's the fact that he has him significantly lower than William Byron, who he spotted three wins last year and not to mention the fact that the race is Alex Bowman didnt win were because of mechanical failures i.e Martinsville, bristol dirt. If he wants to say the 48 team is the 15th best team he can do that with Alex Bowman is not the 15th best driver he's better than that
No he didn't. Blaney was a rookie in 2016. He had 0 wins, 3 top 5s, 9 top 10s and a 20th place points finish. Not bad for a rookie, but no where near the top 10.
In my opinion Kevin Harvick is right where he belongs on your list. Sure wins matter and Harvick went winless but what was more impressive to me what how consistent Harvick was through the 2021 season he had 0 wins but finished ahead of a ton of other guys that had those stage wins and race wins throughout the entire season. that in my opinion is what make a great driver, consistency and making the most out you the equipment given to you and Kevin Harvick most certainly did just that.
The 2020/2021 rookies and Kyle Busch were hindered a fair bit by no practice. KB could arrive pre-pandemic with a car 70/80% perfect and work it to 90/95% between practice and qualy. Just look at the clash, took the pole and won stage 1, changes mid race didn't really improve it
About to watch this, but unless Erik Jones is ranked above William Byron, he'll be too low. And that's nothing against Byron, who is a future star, but Jones is better. Road courses, plate tracks, short tracks, flat tracks, mile and a halfs it doesn't matter, Jones is good on all of them. And since his rookie year has he caused even one crash? Most underrated driver I've seen since I began watching the sport in 2003. I just wish he showed his personality more, but that may come with age.
The correct list is Larson 1, duh, Kyle Busch--best (most skilled to Larson) 2 and any of your list after . . .Harvick is too old and doesn't have the young edge anymore but KH, Truex and def Joey Logano (just won first Clash) - - Eric; JL22 is a really good driver . . . .

Harvick extremely talented. Temper has affected him last couple years. Last year it caught up to him. He goes down, Kyle Bush up more, Elliot up, Larson is where he belongs. Good list only a couple minor changes. Keep trying you'll get better at this. JK, LOL
I like the idea of you doing this list. I would do another list At the end of the year just like this 1. Then you can compare the 2 and lay them outside bye side and see where everybody landed either ascended Then you can compare the 2 and lay them outside by side and see where everybody landed either ascended or descended in the order
It would be lovely to hit 2ooK this season! 🤞🏻🍀
I’m so ready for practice today
10th for Blaney is a bit disrespectful. He was head over heels the best Ford car and was the 4th best driver overall last season.
Yeah, he would’ve easily made the final four if it weren’t Austin Dillon getting into him for 2 consecutive races.
Bro how you got Tyler Reddick ahead of William Byron?
Absolutely 99% agree with this list. Just switch the top two and that would be spot on.
As a Christopher Bell fan, 13th is right where I would place him going into this season as well.
Agree mostly, but Harvick probably should be ranked 3rd with Hamlin 2nd.
No harvick should be 7-8 Kyle Busch should be 5-6 his top 5 is a joke except Larson an hamlin
No way Truex is 5th, just a spot ahead of Elliot. He’s as good as Hamlin. Guy should be 2nd/ 3rd
8:38 Ricky Stenhouse won at Daytona at the start of NASCAR in *2023!*
#33 “Ahhh, it’s Cody Ware…” -Mike Joy
Eric: “This episode is presented by the Nascar hall of fame”
Me: oh cool- wait what?
Chris buescher has 1 win at pocono in 2016 under a rain/fog delay
My two favorite Harvick and Larson make the top two, although reversed. 👍🏻
Kurt, Kyle B, Harvick, Keslowski, and Logano will have a hell of a season. Cindric will win a race and Penske will be the dominate team.
I’m hoping Eric Jones has a breakout season this year!
Chase deserves to be higher than KB after two straight champ four appearances and KN having none. Even in 2019 when KB won the champ, he only had two more wins than him whereas the last two years chase has had 4 more wins
My girlfriend just got me tix to Martinsville for my bday!!! First nascar race since brickyard 2007
Reasonsable top 33. Good job!
Kyle is the Tony Stewart, AJ Foyt type he can win anywhere and he's still not in his prime yet. He will slay them in these crappy clone cars.
You forgot about Ryan Preece in the #15 car and AJ Allmendinger in the #16 car
Here’s my ranking:
1 - Kyle Larson
2 - Kyle Busch
3 - Denny Hamlin
4 - Kevin Harvick
5 - Chase Elliott
6- Joey Logano
7 - Martin Truex Jr.
8 - Brad Keselowski
9 - William Byron
10- Kurt Busch
11- Ryan Blaney
12 - Alex Bowman
13 (Tie) - Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe
14 - Tyler Reddick
15 - Christopher Bell
16 - Daniel Suarez
17 - Aric Almirola
18 - Erik Jones
19 - Austin Dillon
20 - Chris Buescher
21 - Ross Chastain
22 - Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
23 - Michael McDowell
24 - Cole Custer
25 - Harrison Burton
26 - Justin Haley
27 - Corey Lajoie
28 - Josh Bilicki
29 - BJ McLeod
30 - Cody Ware
I forgot who else was full time this year lol
Ehh..... I think switch Blaney and Keselowski, Ku. Busch and Bowman, and then Ross Chastain Up
This is forsure a great ranking and given the way (reason of) each choice is hard to fault.
If he wants to say the 48 team is the 15th best team he can do that with Alex Bowman is not the 15th best driver he's better than that
MTJ never gets the respect he deserves. Who else has four championship four appearances in the last five years? No one!
Gonna be my first time at the Daytona 500 too!!! Hope to see ya there bud
Just saw Eric's face on FS1's 100,000 cameras
Blaney also finished top 10 in points his rookie year with a win (and with Wood Brothers)
No he didn't. Blaney was a rookie in 2016. He had 0 wins, 3 top 5s, 9 top 10s and a 20th place points finish. Not bad for a rookie, but no where near the top 10.
@@zyx777zyx I meant full time driving (although not technically his rookie year, might as well be)
Top 20 best drivers
1. Larson
2. Elliott
3. Hamlin
4. Truex Jr
5. Logano
6. Harvick
7. Keselowski
8. Kyle Busch
9. Blaney
10. Kurt Busch
11. Bowman
12. Byron
13. Bell
14. Almirola
15. Dillon
16. Reddick
17. Chastain
18. Wallace
19. Jones
20. Custer
I would be Hamlin below Busch but... If SHR is back this year... The field better be on alert.
Hopefully, Kyle Busch, William Byron, and Alex Bowman, get some wins, would be cool to see Bowman tied with Jimmie Johnson, for wind➡️ 84
Should be exciting to see who breaks the most wind! [Please never do fix your typographical error!!]
@@WhatAboutTheBee Looks like Byron has broken the most wind so far.
Harvick is behind Chase. Currently, harvick is coming off a winless season. Like he has said, you can't be a good driver if you don't win races.
I think Haley will get a win this year coming at a super speedway or possibly a track that’s similar like Michigan or kansas
Just look at the clash, took the pole and won stage 1, changes mid race didn't really improve it
Great pics great show
Don't forget Justin Haley has Brett Griffin this year as a spotter this year.
Also…. Reddick ahead of BYRON?? Bro……. You seriously need to rethink this
Why rowdy below pamperboy?? I screamed at you
About to watch this, but unless Erik Jones is ranked above William Byron, he'll be too low.
LMFAO. Then a whole lot of u guys woke up and noticed it was just a dream.
Kyle larson is my favorite racer thank you for putting him 1st
The correct list is Larson 1, duh, Kyle Busch--best (most skilled to Larson) 2 and any of your list after . . .Harvick is too old and doesn't have the young edge anymore but KH, Truex and def Joey Logano (just won first Clash) - - Eric; JL22 is a really good driver . . . .
My top 5 active drivers…in no order
Kyle Busch
Denny Hamlin
Kyle Larson
Kevin Harvick
Kurt Busch
The list is pretty spot on.
