It works!!! Had irritating swinging door that wouldn’t stay open- used a rag to keep it open- thank god I watched your video- after 8 years, I have a door that will stay open!!! Thanks
Excellent!
Thank you so much. I'm an 80 year old great grandma and I recently put some Wd-40 on my bathroom door hinges. Then the door wouldn't stay open. So annoying. I found your video right away and took the top pin out and put it on the garage floor and hit it with my hammer. I had quite a time getting the pin back in the hinge due to having to lift the door a tiny bit to align the hinges but I finally prevailed and voila!!! Your solution works like a charm. I can't wait to teach this trick to my son. He will be happy he doesn't have to come over here and put my door back on.
Awesome job! God bless you and your family.
Thank you very much! Worked like a charm on the two doors I had sprayed with WD-40. 10/2/24
Thank you so much I’m a maintenance tech at an apartment complex and never knew of this trick!
Thank you so much for this awesome quick fix. I just had a storm door installed last week and the installer did tap the pins back down in the hinges. They were all sticking up quite a bit but I hadn't noticed. However, that did not stop the problem of the door closing. So glad I decided to do some research and came across your video. I was never concerned before because I didn't have a need to leave the front door open. But now I do and it stays open perfectly! 😁
Glad this worked for you! :)
Awesome tip; worked perfectly (had to bend all 3 pins (slightly)). Driving me crazy for the last year and finally decided to try something today. Thank you!! 😀
Oh that feeling of spending 2 minutes solving a problem that's plagued us for years, right? Right now I'm walking around the house like I just cured cancer. The best part is I get to spend the next couple of years reminding my wife about that time I fixed our bedroom door. Oh, and that time I washed that cereal bowl that was sitting in the sink. Yep, my list of accomplishments is really starting to take shape. 😝
Yesssss got in a new place with a silly door that closes by itself. So annoying. Took 20 seconds of googling, a minute to watch your video and it’s solved 😎
Nice!!
Just tried this. Couldn’t figure how to fix this problem and it works. Thanks
Glad it helped
haha thank you! finally got fed up enough with my bathroom door shutting on its own, and a towel under the door as a stopper for 3 years! searched and your video was first one up. Tried it and it worked like a charm the first try! Literally 60 seconds! only hand to bend the middle one. Genius!
Ha, I've done the towel stop before too! Thanks for the comment. :)
OM fricking GOD! I finally tried this on my bathroom door. It worked like a charm. Such a simple fix. This was driving me crazy for years! I only had to take the top pin out. Thanks you for the tip!!
Glad it helped!
This was so helpful, THANK YOU! Months of frustration and trying to find something to prop the door open gone. Thank you again!!
Great to hear that it worked for you!
This is amazing! You probably saved this Single Mom $75 for a repair call! Thank you.
Excellent!
So glad I found this. Worked great. No more crazy door.
Glad it helped. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks worked like a champ. The door has been annoying closing for many years.
Great to hear! Thanks for the comment.

Been messing with this door for awhile. Tried everything but your trick. Watched it and bam done ! That easy!,,,
Awesome!
Worked like a charm!! Thank you!!!!!! My dog keeps locking herself in our bathroom at night in our cabin!!!
Fantastic!
Yahoo, it worked!! That door closing was getting on my last nerve! Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much. That worked perfectly on a door at my daughter’s house. It was driving me crazy. :) Now the dogs can go in and out of that room again without me having to hold the door open. :)
Fantastic!
Might be a little overkill, but I did it in all 3 pins and it worked perfectly. Thank you!
This just worked like a charm on our son's bedroom door. Our teenage son loves hanging out in his room and playing on his VR. However he also has a dog that hates to be without him for more than 10 minutes, but that also needs to come and go from his room in case he needs to go outside to do what dogs do outside. He has never been able to leave his door cracked just a little without it drifting all the way open. This has been an issue for years, but I finally decided to go looking for a solution when I ran across your video. Two minutes later and the problem is finally solved. Now pretty much anywhere we stop that door along its path, it stays right there. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Now to spend 15 seconds solving our ten year long procrastination of putting a nail behind our laundry room door so we can hang our flyswatter. My wife should be so proud at all I've accomplished on a Sunday afternoon. I wonder if she'll brag to her friends about how handy I am?🤣
I'm so glad it worked for you! Happy Sunday, God bless.
Thank you kindly, brilliant, worked perfectly. My husband is very happy ♥️
Wonderful!
Holy Sh** it worked! My issues started after I lubricated the door. This is a genius hack.
Awesome!
Thank you. I had 4 doors to fix and it worked on them all.
Great job!
Had a front door that just slightly creeped open. Did this to the middle hinge and problem solved. Thanks!

I have been propping my door open with a toy car for 10 years and this is all I had to do the whole time😂. Thanks man!
Ha!
Thank you! This has been bugging me for a couple years and finally decided to google a fix lol. 3 minutes later (video + work) and door now holds open.

VERY HELPFUL! I literally wanted to fight this door!
LOL, glad it helped you out.
It works!
Great!
My mobile home doors have smaller than usual hinges and the pin is not removable by any amount of pounding. What suggestion do you have?
... maybe replace the hinges with a newer style? Sounds like the door needs more than what this video covers.
What if you don’t have a tool to get the pin out? I hate to go buy that just for one door. Is there another option or is it best yo just go get one?
Do you have a nail? Use that and a hammer.
Curious and silly question from a non-handy person … can I just hammer the nail of the hinge anywhere?
In the middle is best...
Thank you!@@TrainingHandsAcademy
God's blessings to you also@@TrainingHandsAcademy
My door only has two hinges not three so which hinge pin do I do this to?
start with the top, then do the bottom if you need more
My door hinge does not have a pin. What do you suggest?
You will have to move the whole striker plate instead.
WOW!!!
What if you don’t have a middle pin? Do both top and bottom?
Try one first, then do the other if needed.
Omg... 15 years bathroom door swinging shut... NOT ANYMORE ❤ I had to do middle and top pins
Feels good, right!? Thanks for the comment.
everyone always gives demos on 3 hinge doors. what if i have a 2 hinge door? well i bent both and it only lasted a week and went back to self closing. i am at my wits end with this door.
The door must be really bad then... I would try bending them even more. The only problem with that is they can get noisy.
It happens with my closet door, how can I fix it?. It's not the same hinge
Hard to fix if you don't have a hinge pin you can pull out. Sorry
It worked in 30 SEC
NICE
In another video the guy said the middle or lower pin, but never the top pin. Who’s right?
Then do the middle only.
If it doesnt work, you need a bigger hammer hehe
LOL!!
Sir I plz reply me ... I want to learn from you .. I promise I work hard ...
