Came back to say thank you! I bought a 13-year-old Honda CR-V a few months ago. All four doors, annoyingly, wouldn't stay open if parked on any sort of incline. The rear left speaker also didn't work when I bought it, but that hasn't been annoying enough to get into the door. I got whacked in the head the other day though as I was bent over and pulling stuff out of the back seat. That inspired me to do a little homework and I came across your video here. In a little over an hour I had both rear door checkers working, and with a little more time discovered that the speaker terminals were just a bit corroded. Both problems fixed for $0.00... fantastic hack, and great video!

After my door closing on my leg for a year, I found your video and fixed it today. I have an older car and was struggling to find a replacement stopper, so your idea to reposition the rubber piece was perfect. Thank you!!!
Thank you. Just repaired this part in a Nissan 350z. The concept is very similar and solved the problem by shiming with two coins between the case and rubber part. It worked great. Again thank you for your video!
