Sonic easily defeated a being of pure negative energy (Perfect Chaos) without the need of a Super form in Sonic Generations. 4. This means that the Emeralds ONLY have unlimited positive energy, while their negative energy is limited. 5. The official and canon Dark Sonic in the games is basically Sonic the Werehog, who was clearly inferior when compared to Super Sonic in absolutely every aspect. 6. There's a clear misconception here. Dark Sonic is NOT Super Sonic + negative energy. It's just Sonic + negative energy. The Emeralds used for Dark Sonic's only appearance were fake Chaos Emeralds and their power was nothing compared to the real Chaos Emerald power. That's right, they were Emeralds that couldn't even handle a Chaos Control. Even though there were hundreds of them when Sonic went Dark, infinity is still better than 100. And it was stated that the negative energy of the chaos emeralds is more powerful than the positive energy of the emeralds meaning dark sonic is more powerful bc he uses more energy of the emeralds. Super sonic may be iconic and a fan favorite but that doesn’t make it stronger.

In reality, Dark Super Sonic has not given any indication that he is powerful because he is put on a pedestal for defeating 2 robots, although powerful, very weak against the one in the games, since this transformation comes from a super weak version of the one in the games. that the sonic from the anime went through some walls and got hurt when the classic sonic, one that can be considered a somewhat weak version, resisted the explosion of the death egg and on top of that the death egg has the same size as the moon
