So, I love this song and WATG. But what the heck was going on in this video?... It didnt even look or sound like he was playing the same song. It looked like he was playing something entirely different with this song layered over top of it. This was weird...
WATG is rhythm guitar heavy, and what we’re seeing here are the lead parts that sit really far back in the mix. So when the solo came and rhe leads were turned way up, I’m sure it looked proper to you, then, right? Same with the the chugging after the solo as well as the main riff. But during the verses and choruses you probably got lost because that lead part is so buried.
Yea, they simply put the studio track over this for the video which muddles everything. In most 'playthrough videos' you leave the respective instrument out and then play the fresh track of that instrument over it with more gain so it stands out. And WATG tends to have lead guitar reeaaally low on the studio mix for some reason.
That solo is amazing 👊🏼
I'm loving this serie of playthrough so much !
