I recently got an Apple Pencil and Procreate for my birthday and have been practicing a bunch with it. This is my first finished piece and was made to be custom stationary for my Mom for Mother's Day today. I wanted to incorporate motherhood into it but I also didn't want it to be exclusive to Mother's Day so I finally settled on this design after watching many a video of baby birds for my animal behavior class.
I wasn't originally going to make a speedpaint but as I was exporting the final image I discovered that Procreate automatically records your drawing progress in a time-lapse which is equal parts neat and creepy (which also explains the lack of dizzying zoom ins and outs that would be there had I screen-recorded). So why not use this an excuse for a channel update?
General updates: I hope quarantine's going well for everyone! To say this is an interesting time we live in would be an understatement. Feel free to tell me how it's going in the comments, I'd love to hear from you guys regarding this whole situation. With everyone social distancing we're left with the internet to connect with people! I, for one, recently wrapped up my freshman year of college and am now on a two week break until I start up summer classes online. I'm currently working on my Good For You MAP part and hope to chip away at it while I'm free. That said, it'll probably be another month or two before it's done due to my summer schedule alone. On a more exciting note, one of the reasons I'm so busy (aside from summer classes) is I've been awarded a research grant! For those who don't keep up with me on Twitter, I'm studying wildlife biology in college and have started conducting undergrad research in urban ecology with a focus on conservation. From January through March I worked in the field setting up game cameras and have since been using that footage to monitor local coyote populations. My professor ended up liking me (!) and invited me to continue working with her for future semesters in addition to offering me the amazing opportunity to apply for the aforementioned grant. I'll be using game camera footage, like before, but instead of coyotes I'll be monitoring black bear use of highway underpasses. The only real downside is that research on top of summer school means I'll be pretty busy this summer and probably won't be joining anymore MAPs anytime soon.
MAP updates: Somebody to Love is close to being completed. I hope to have that out by end of Summer. The "Monster" Ivypool PMV MAP is looking absolutely stunning but given worldly circumstances I've decided to be lenient with deadlines. Aside from that, Twitter is the best place to contact me (@ Quill_Works). My DM's are always open.
    'Till next time!

Wow! This is amazing! This looks kind of, for the lack of a better term, abstract and stylized, which I love! Great work from you again!
