Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker that's durable and sounds great!

OK, this speaker is the Mac Daddy of all speakers! It's a tank! I don't have to worry that my two boys (9 and 11) will ruin it or get it wet. I don't even care if they drop it on the ground. I threw it across my patio onto the cement, and it kept playing. I dunked it in a big cooler full of water and it worked perfectly. This is our new camping speaker for sure!!! Love it!
I know there's a whole array of speakers that appeal to audiophiles who can discern the quality of sound to expert level standards of evaluation, but I'm not that person. My husband bought a $150 speaker for the patio, and it even charges his phone, but it's a pain because it cannot get wet AND, he has to take his phone case OFF to plug it into the top for his music to play. That's an accident waiting to happen. The kids will throw a ball and knock his phone and the speaker off onto the cement and he'll have a broken "fancy speaker" and need his phone screen replaced. It's not practical at all. It sounds amazing, but there's no way we can use it when the kids have friends over or they want to listen to music at the neighbor's pool.
Pros:
1) I can throw it around, drop it, kick it and it doesn't care. It's the honeybadger of speakers. It just keeps playing like it's NBD.
2) This speaker can handle water. It laughs at water and has its own flotation raft. It is built for adventure.
3) Easy to pair up. I used my younger son's iPad Mini (not even my husband's fancy iPad Mini 2) ... I even paired it with an old iPhone 4S to check it out. No prob.
4) The FM receiver is surprisingly good! I was able to get a bunch of radio stations in clear enough to be pleasantly surprised. I rarely listen to radio since the commercials make me nuts, but the kids like it. When you press the play/pause button, it will scan to find stations for you.
5) The normal Bluetooth features work perfectly, including phone calls. There's a voice that tells you when it's paired up.
6) Easy to read instructions (I will post pics)
7) Comes with a USB charger and AUX cable.
8) Can put a TF card in there to play MP3 music from (Micro SD card)
9) You can attach this speaker to a tripod. I tested the connection spot at the bottom to screw it on a small tabletop tripod I have. Works great! I'm not sure WHY you'd want it on a tripod, but it's an option that's available.
10) Sound's great! Loud enough without being crazy high volume ... and it is better than I expected for something with such a thick waterproof design. Is it the best sound ever? Nope, of course not. Will it do for outdoor patio parties, pool parties, beach and vacation fun? Sure!
Cons:
OK, so this is heavier than anything I'd cart around in my backpack or purse. I have a small Bluetooth speaker I sometimes bring to parties, but this is just too big to carry around on the regular. Will I still pack it when we go camping anyway? Absolutely. My mini van is packed to the top with a ridiculous amount of stuff for weekend outings because my family of four cannot pack light. Apparently we aren't used to roughing it, so what's the difference if my speaker weighs 1.4 pounds or 1/4 of that? Not enough to matter. I'm not carrying it in a backpack for a 20 mile hike. I'm unloading a mini van with 100 other things.
Will I bring it to my friends houses when we're invited to swim? Definitely! I'm bringing it along just so I can have fun by throwing it in the pool and yelling "My speaker! OH NO!!! It's getting wet!!!" and freak out for a minute. LOLOL
Feedback - I really REALLY wish the sling cover was included when you buy one of these speakers. It looks awesome! I will be ordering it. Check it out by searching this number in the Amazon search line: B01HRO56ZK
In order to hang it up on a hook, or a tree branch, or a clip ... you need this kind of sling.
BEWARE:
The cover where you plug in the USB charger or Aux (& TF card reader is located) MUST be tightly sealed. I repeat, TIGHTLY SEALED before you put it in water. Because, duh.
Does it come with an AC adapter? No. I have a variety of stuff .. power banks for each member of the family, rechargeable flashlights, camping lanterns, headlamps and smart watches. NOTHING ... NOTHING comes with an AC adapter. Why? IDK. Prolly because we all have those AC adapter cubes laying all over our houses already. I have three surge protectors and they all have USB ports. We have four laptops in our house. Figure it out and PLUG IT IN.
