    This should be the first video a new rower watches! I began rowing on a Concept 2 this week before watching any videos. I didn't know how to get my foot out, so I slipped my feet out of my shoes, then set my shoes free 😆 Thank you for providing instructions! 👍

    Thank you for this, it helped quite a bit - especially getting out as I felt trapped the first time I used the rower and I wanted off real bad (I went back the next day). LOL

    Another spot on video. Shame you don't release more rowing videos as your content is better than majority of instructional videos out there. Especially for beginners.

    Hi..I've altered my foot set up on my rower and now I can reach further in on the catch but the strap position is further up my foot do you think this is a good thing or will it alter something else in the training?

    Can you row without shoes on and just wear thick socks or do you definitely need to wear sneakers?

      Definitely! It's whatever feels most comfortable to you. I've tried bare feet, socks, trainers. Just know that the straps can rub against your Achilles if going bare foot so be prepared! 🤕

    She is wrong in saying don't row in heavy lifting shoes - Your drive isn't cushioned, I would only not recommend lifting shoes for pieces or workout longer than 30 minutes of high intensity with no rest on the erg.

    This is not right. You don't set foot height based on foot size. Review your biomechanics.

      It's a general guideline for where to put your feet initially. As I stated in the video, this may not work for everyone and some may need to move them up or down to find the best position for their specific anthropometry, but when dealing with someone who is just learning to row (or is more concerned about their times than their technique), this is a helpful cue to get them closer to the right position rather than just leaving the stretchers where the person before placed them.
